About Gian Piero Fronzaroli

We live in Siena with our eight year old english bull dog. We like to spend our holiday travelling around Europe.

Gian Piero Fronzaroli purchased this villa in 2005

Why Gian Piero Fronzaroli chose Val d'Elsa - Siena

We love San Gimignano because is a medieval town most important and beautifull in Italy. It's in the middle of country side between Florence e Siena, city art wellknown in the world.

What makes this villa unique

The property purchased in 2005, is just four minutes by car from the center of San Gimignano in an amazing panorama view of Tuscany countryside.

Tuscany is famous for its food and wine, and there are many local restaurants serving excellent food to suit all pockets.

San Gimignano is 4km from our Villa, a wonderful medieval town, its 13 towers evident on the skyline. Once there were 72 towers, symbols of wealth and power of the medieval families of the 12th and 13th century. At San Gimignano in July and August "Dentro e fuori le mura" a series of performances and events including opera, poetry, theatre, ballet, classical concerts and movies.

Montalcino and its superb wines and imposing Fortress hosts a jazz festival in July. Siena is appox 30 mins drive, a magnificent city steeped in history; the Piazza del Campo being the site of the famous ‘Palio’ race of horses held in the second day of July and 16th of August. Palio, where the competing Contrade, 17 in number, only 10 run a fiercely challenged horse race round the perimeter of this extraordinary shell shaped Square, which is overlooked by the height of the Torre del Mangia. Throughout the city a wealth of art is to be found in the churches and the small museums.

Florence is less than an hour away. Here the cradle of renaissance and home of Dante Alighieri, Machiavelli, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Donatello. Steeped in history and well preserved architecture. Don't miss the Ponte Vecchio, Cathedral and the Uffizi gallery, the list is endless.

Villa Panorama Met All of Our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Villa Panorama with our children, their spouses, and our three granddaughters after approximately 24 hours of travel. We were greeted by Gian Piero and Laura who welcomed us with a tour of the house and a lovely buffet of bread, cheese, sausage, and wine. We all fell in love at first sight with this 17th century villa and the exquisite view of the surrounding countryside it afforded. The house has been beautifully renovated and met the needs of our family of 10 perfectly. Because we all love to cook, we particularly appreciated the well-appointed kitchen and the outdoor pizza oven. The weather was very hot during our stay, so when we were at the villa, most of our time was spent on the terrace and in the pool. Needless to say, we were also thankful for the air-conditioned bedrooms and kitchen. With the exception of a day trip to Rome, the goal of our vacation was to explore Tuscany. Villa Panorama is ideally located for this purpose, and most of the must-see destinations are no more than 90 minutes away by car. The near-by village of San Gimignano was one of our favorites, with its rich history, ancient architecture, and beautiful little shops. Gian Piero and Laura were excellent hosts. They were readily reached by email and when the coffeemaker stopped working, we were supplied with a new one the next day. Moreover, midway through our two-week stay, they arrived with workers to change the linens, clean the house, and look after the pool. We have occupied some outstanding vacation homes in England, Germany, Austria, and Mexico, but Villa Panorama ranks with only one other at the top of the list. If asked for any criticisms, there could be only one, and that would be the somewhat inconsistent supply of hot water. That said, based on our experience, we are confident that our hosts will be addressing this issue. All of us enjoyed our visit to Tuscany very much. The food was exquisite, and the beauty of the countryside and medieval architecture was second to none. Clearly, we would highly recommend Villa Panorama to anyone planning to explore this region. All of our expectations were met by the many amenities offered by the property, its ideal location, and the friendly, accommodating owners.

The garden and views were good. It is 5 minutes drive to San Gimignano by helicopter! You have to negotiate a steep, bumpy, dirt road which takes 5 minutes on its own! The villa is tired and bathrooms small and difficult to manage with small children. The sitting room is lovely, with beautiful old furniture. The bedrooms are basic, though acceptable. The kitchen is well equipped, with every utensil you could wish for. Both the BBQ and pizza ovens worked well. . In addition, we were without hot water for over 12 hours, while emails were exchanged and boiler repaired. No allowance was made for this inconvenience. It's a great shame since we had a lovely holiday but a bad taste was left in my mouth by the money grabbing attitude of the owner. These things were difficult to remedy at the time because the owner spoke very limited English and we had no Italian.
