Villa in Arona, Tenerife - Peaceful Location, 15 Mins Drive to the Beach

Finca Buenavista is a 200 year old restored Canarian farmhouse. It has breathtaking coastal views of the South of Tenerife including Los Christianos and Playa De Las Americas. It is set in a peaceful 4000 metre plot near the pretty Spanish village of Arona with all local amenities including supermarket, chemist, post office bank a few bars and restaurants. Yet it is only 15 minutes drive to the coast with its many beaches as well as bars, restaurants and shops and choice of recreational activities including the famous Siam waterpark.There is a twin and double with shared bathroom on the ground floor and a twin and master bedroom on the first floor with a shared shower room. The house is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden with pool, table tennis table, barbecue area and covered pergola with seating for 8 as well as a fire pit for cooler evenings. The house even has its own cave.

About The Owner

We live in Oxford, England with our two teenage sons. We moved back here after living for 5 years in Tenerife, where we renovated our property. We were only planning to go for 2 years!, but we loved the island so much, the fantastic climate, outdoor lifestyle, Spanish way of life and it was great for the kids who can now sail and surf.

Why The Owner chose Arona

We were looking for an exciting project to renovate and this ticked all the boxes. Even though it needed work it had the most amazing dramatic views all along the Southern coastline. It is over 200 years old , built from volcanic rock and was originally a chapel. The location was important for us too, we wanted to be in the countryside but close enough to the beaches and restaurants and the beautiful village of Arona is close by.

We love the peace, quiet and privacy that the villa offers us away from the tourist areas.

Notes on accommodation: The house is suitable for children however there are a number of steps and the house is built on terraced land which is mostly fenced or walled. However there are areas where younger children would need to be watched. Outside: Attractive, private landscaped gardens surround the property. There are several different seating areas including a large covered pergola area with outside fridge. There is a kidney shaped 9m x 4.5m pool which has spectacular views. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided and changed weekly. Property cleaned weekly. Welcome pack included.

Well equipped home with fabulous views

As an adult family group of 8 we found this property very spacious and well equipped. Lots of places to sit and relax inside and out. Table tennis was great for the guys and sun loungers sufficient for us all (although one or two need some repair and could do with one more dining chair indoors). Welcome pack of provisions was very useful. Garden lizards were interesting and kept any insects away. Didn’t use the pool much as we were a little unlucky with the clouds but when the sun was out it was nice and sheltered. Lots of books and films etc provided. The views were spectacular and a walk to the village providing the legs and lungs a good workout. Coffee and huge cake selectionin the Aroma cafe and the Italian restaurant where we met Phil was good. Phil was a really helpful chap and the owner, Julie, also very helpful beforehand. We hired a minibus from Autoreisen at the airport, only about 250 euros for a week that allowed us to follow the sun when it got cloudy in the mountains and to access the national park. Siam water park was excellent and the horse and pony riding at La Camella nearby was great with the English ladies there rescuing horses and doing treks around the locality. Would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely villa in a great location with amazing views.

Excellent communication in the lead up to our stay. We met the local housekeeper who we then followed up to the house, so that was very easy. Great to have someone show us where everything was, give us some recommendations etc And the welcome pack of food was a pleasant surprise.

Julie also provided useful info beforehand. So car hire was through Autoreisen which was cheaper than normal and easy to use. She also recommended Andy Tomkins who leads guided walks all over Tenerife and who we used twice (Masca Gorge, Anaga area) . Worth looking at his website.

The house was well equipped and to a high standard. The outside space was ideal with the different areas providing shade and seating. And good views too.

A useful location as quick to drive down to the coast ( Siam Park, beaches) but also easy to get up to Teide which should be a must for anyone!

You can buy your food supplies in Arona but we also enjoyed eating out; worth mentioning the Aroma Pastel cafe in Arona and the spit roast restaurant in San Lorenzo.

So overall, I'd definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy Tenerife but who also wants a little peace and downtime away from the busy coastal resorts. You get the best of both worlds here!

Stunning property with stunning views.

We were 2 families staying in the property and it was not only very spacious for us but every room in the house was stylish with beautiful and interesting pieces of art around. Everywhere was immaculately clean. The garden too was equally interesting and the pool an added bonus. The 180 degree views were incredible and took in the towns below too. You ideally need a car if you stay at the property, although we did walk to Arona most mornings for a few provisions. Los Christianos and La Capella are not far to drive . The temperature is a few degrees less than down in the towns which can be very welcome on your return. The house too is cool and airy. I would recommend getting about the island in your car as very interesting. Mount Teide a must and Santa Cruz a great place to visit and shop.

Everything you need in a peaceful location

We wanted peace and quiet, and that's what we got! Very relaxing. The Finca is well equipped and had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. Unfortunately, due to the cloud cover and the wind, it wasn't as hot and sunny as we had hoped so we didn't use the pool or sit outside much when we were there. We spent a lot of time exploring the island though, so were able to catch the sun in other places!

Wonderful Villa

I have to say the photos of this wonderful villa do not do it justice, it's lovely. We had a fantastic holiday and particularly enjoyed the pool. The drive to the villa is a little bit of a challenge but easy once you know where you are going. I can't recommend enough, hope to see you again soon.

Car: necessary


It is a 15 minute drive to the nearest beaches in Los Christianos, Playa de las Americas, Playa Del Duque and pretty La Caleta fishing village and the Spanish village Las Galletas. Within 30 minutes you can reach El Medano, the kite surfing centre of the south.


Reina Sofia Sur Airport is 25 minutes drive.

Car hire is essential.


The peaceful village of Arona is close by. While a spectacular 15 minute drive takes you to the village of Vilaflor and the beginning of Teide National Park with its cable car up the volcano and many walks. There are also famous local walks directly from the property including Roque Del Conde, the highest mountain in the South. Local excellent restaurants are just a short drive away. Watersports and theme parks are also just a short drive away.
