Had 2 families come and stay in this beautifully decorated house and fully equipped kitchen. The latest work done in the garden is absolutely brilliant and completes this very well apportioned house. Louise and Richard were very helpful before we came and even more when we were here, with loads of leaflets and info. on things to do and see. Very happy with our holiday and will not hesitate to come back !!! Five star rating no hesitation.

Disappointing ,wish we d looked at Google Earth.

  • 2 of 5

Outside untidy, pool surround needs replacing and barbecue not cleaned.Main room smelly despite leaving the window open for 3 days. We told the owner of these complaints---reply was he will be mending the decking We arrived early so cleaning was nt finished .It was 3 50pm only 10mins before the time! The smelly room?damp but we thought a strong animal smell.Utilities nice and clean but fly papers needed replacing , a bit repulsive to walk into a kitchen with 2 heavily fly laden sticky yellow strips yet flies were not a problem in the house. Bed linen nice but furniture dusty and dirt under the beds.

Beautiful farmhouse in magnificent countryside

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 and 1 friend stayed at this property in August last year. The property has been tastefully decorated incorporating a traditional French style and modern influence. The rooms were extremely comfortable with all amenities. The teenagers loved being in the top rooms which had its own on suite and chill out room. The house sits at the foothills of the mountains and surrounded by fields of sunflowers. Even though its in the countryside, the towns are not far away including the medieval town of Mirepoix. Louise and Richard were fantastic hosts ensuring all our needs were met. They even made sure we had basic shopping supplies on arrival, Fantastic holiday! Thank you!

Fabulous week at Le Py d'en bas !

  • 5 of 5

Just had a fabulous week at Le Place de Py D'en bas, we were a family group of 7 including 2 children, the house had everything we needed plus more, loved the garden, pool area, outside dining area and the garden room with state of the art TV / DVD players. Huge selection of books to read, the owners, Louise & Richard couldn't do enough for us, recommending places to visit, giving us local info about shops / markets etc. We thoroughly enjoyed this first visit to the midi-Pyrenees with its fields of sunflowers and magnificent mountain backdrop, we would not hesitate to come again!

Thanks again

Kind Regards

Lovely house in Pyrenean foothills

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks in July. As stated in previous reviews, this is a lovely house which is well equipped and has a mature garden and some great views. The secluded hamlet location is ideal for exploring the area - we enjoyed medieval towns, prehistoric caves, and walking, cycling and climbing in the pyrenees. The owners were welcoming on our arrival and were excellent in all communication prior to the holiday.

Stunning house with stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks with two families 5 adults & 4 children. On arrival we were blown away instantly with the house, it looks over fields, the garden is well matured with stunning plants and the level of attention to detail the owners have put in to the house is second to none, there is no expense spared. It really was home from home. Kitchen was fully equipped, furnished to a high level with all the mod cons but still in keeping with what you would expect from a traditional french house. There are two lounges, the back lounge is just amazing, light and airy with doors leading out to the pool area. The owner must be an interior designer as everything is so well designed. The area is great for exploring. Mirepoix is just a 10 minute drive with an amazing market and stunning architecture, the natural swimming lakes just down the road and lots of restaurants and cafes within a ten minute drive. We had a couple bad days weather but it didn't matter as when we returned home from a days exploring there were loads of games, DVDs and wifi so the kids were never bored. You will need a car to explore the area when staying here. The owners were more than helpful, meeting us on arrival and informing us of where to go and nothing was too much trouble. When corresponding on booking and before arrival, contact with the owners was spot on and always received response to my questions within a couple of hours which was very reassuring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and will be returning again and highly recommend anyone staying here. I've stayed in a lot of rental properties over the years and this is up there in my top 3 and fell lucky to have found this gem.

Beautiful Farmhouse

  • 4 of 5

The owners are welcoming and extremely helpful. My husband, 17 year old son and his friend felt at home straight away. The facilities are excellent and well maintained and everything you could possibly need is provided. The house is secluded and private with wonderful views of fields, with the stunning Pyrenees as a back drop. With only a short drive to shops, restaurants and bars and even go-karting! Carcassonne is nearby which is well worth a day trip as well as Andorra. The house has so much to offer whether you prefer sun or shade. A super BBQ area and undercover seating area. All in all a very relaxing place to stay. We will definitely be going back !
