Fabulous Apartment, Excellent Location

This was our first holiday in Portugal and it could not have been better. The apartment is spacious, clean, adequately equipped for 4 people and in a superb location. The owner organised our taxi transfer form the airport and arranged to have Wi-Fi installed during our visit, much to the delight of our teenage children! The pool was 25 steps from the apartment entrance and was often very quiet until after lunch. There were plenty of sun loungers and parasols. The New Dubliner Irish Bar is next to the pool and provided much refreshment and entertainment during our stay. We did explore the Strip a few times which is only 5mins walk away, though we did prefer the Old Town. Taxis and the local tourist train are a cheap way to get to the Old Town. It is a reasonable walk but it was often too hot during the day! We visited the beach a couple of times which was easily reached in around 10-15mins. There are plenty of supermarkets within 5-10mins walking as well though prices are so cheap we ate out a lot more than we expected. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment - it is fantastic value.

There is an abundance of local produce in Albufeira old town. Shops usually open around 9.30am until 1pm and reopen at 3pm until 7pm or later (week days). On Saturdays, many close at 1pm for the week-end although some remain open during the afternoon. During high season, many shops stay open at night in areas where most of the tourists are found. Shopping Malls are open from 10am until 11pm or midnight, every day of the week.
