Two Duplex Apartments in Calahonda, Costa del Sol, Spain - Superb Location, Close to Beach, Amenities and Golf

Two well furnished, 2 bedroom, top floor duplex apartments. There are lovely local restaurants and bars, as well as a number of supermarkets, banks and shops all within a couple of minutes walking distance. Well situated for keen golfers. 5 minutes drive to Cabopino Port and Marbella's best beaches. The apartments are fully furnished, including TV with FreeView Spanish TV, plus Freesat SKY TV (no longer includes BBC's, ITV's, CH4/CH5, but still has a selection of English Channels). Great balcony overlooking swimming pool, gardens and the Med. Nearby golf courses include Calahonda, Miraflores and La Cala. Mijas Golf and Rio Real courses are a 10 minute drive away. Calypso is a small, gated urbanisation comprising 3 low-rise blocks. These surround lovely gardens with a central swimming pool. There are overpasses and underpasses within a couple of minutes walking distance which provide access to the beach.

Well located apartment

Stayed here for a week having searched for a reasonably priced apartment with good access to main road. This accomodation fitted the bill perfectly. Supermarket, restaurants (good quality - I sampled three of them a minute's walk away) and bars are just the other side of the road. There is access both ways to the main coast road and the toll road is only a few minutes drive. This was important to me as I tend to do a fair bit of driving on holiday.

The property was descibed accurately and was clean and well maintained. Lounge area not huge but quite adequate. Kitchen had everything you would expect and all worked fine. Bedrooms a good size with plenty of storage space. Bed was comfortable and I slept very well - although that may have been down to my wine consumption!

The apartment enjoys nice views of the communal gardens and pool and beyond to the sea. The owner left me a nice bottle of wine which was a welcome touch. Communication with the owner was good and clear instructions regarding location, arrival and departure were given.

I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for good priced, decent accomodation close to amenities. Although I always hire a car it would certainly not be a necessity here. I would be happy to return any time!

Nice Apartment -Great Location

The owner Shiela was very nice and helpful on arrival and explained all about the apartment , where things were , how to operate things etc so we had no trouble at all during our stay, even had a bottle of wine on the table waiting for us !.. very nice thank you Sheila. It was nice and clean and layed out simply meeting all our requirements for a comfortable stay.

The apartment temp stayed even and fairly cool and we didnt miss air conditioning although it was pretty hot outside. When we did need more airflow we followed Sheila fine instructions and opened the doors to let the flow through (keeping the safety security gate locked - perfect.

The apartment is fairly standard for its type - its starting to look a little tired but is clean and has all the facitilities we needed.We had a few days/nights in using the apartment like home - cooking etc and relaxing.

The TV channels were ok but we missed the main channels BBC/ITV etc but understand this is a problem in the Costa Del sol due to re banding of the channels .. We did have a couple of good movie channels and news channels, Sheila is looking into improving what channels are available to customers and hopefully will be even better for our next stay !.

The location for us is perfect !. just accross a small road from the El Zocco complex, a good size supermarket very nearby (los Olivos) and a short wak to the bus stops.. we visited Marbella, Torremolinos , Feungirola , La Cala during our short stay without the need for a car perfect (Trains are in Feungirola where you can get along the coast to the west very easily and cheap)

The El Zocco complex is very nice and has plenty to offer - for eating /drinking and relaxing.

Overall I would say for the money this is good value , it is a nice apartment and will be a place we will be happy to hire again when we come back.

Calypso appt calahonda

We have just returned from 10 days at this wonderful place. The apartment very clean and tidy, plenty towels supplied and beach towels on request. Close to all amenities you could want, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, beach. Local buses cheap and easy to use as we don't like driving. Marbella and fuengirollla 20 - 30 minutes away on bus or car. Gibralter a good day trip out.

The complex is gated and secure. This is a great place for old and young alike, as the apartment is on the third floor I don't need explain about supervision of toddlers on the balcony or windows in the upstairs bedroom.

The people are all friendly, the whole complex is clean and tidy and kept well maintained, swimming pool cleaned every day. This place is ideal for chilling

doing nothing by the pool or for those wanting more activities easily available. The owner said we could contact them by email or phone if we needed but there was no

Need. We have had a great time and will definitely look to return to this apartment.

just spent a week in calahonda ,what a special little flat fell in love with it on entering. every thing so clean. next to shops and for eating out. had a wonderful time. thanks shelia and fred for the transfer. hope to be back soon

From the Owner

Calahonda is one of the best Urbanizations on the Costa del Sol. It has a lively, year-round, expat community, which expands in the summer months to include many holidaymakers. The Urbanization includes every imaginable amenity, from banks to supermarkets, from hardware stores to nightclubs, from beach-side restaurants to easy access to major nearby towns, etc. There are plenty of restaurants serving top-quality food, and there are loads of things to do, ranging from entertainment for the kids, to 18-hole golf courses for adults, with just about everything else in between. Calypso is a small group of blocks at the heart of Calahonda, and all of Calahonda's amenities are walking distance from Calypso.

Activity and Interests


Small, local beach is a short stroll away - the main road has pedestrian underpasses and overpasses for safe crossing. One of Marbella's largest and most beautiful beaches is Cabopino which comprises acres of sand dunes, golden sand and a very pleasant Leisure Marina. Cabopino is less than 5 mins by car from the duplex. Other beaches all the way along the Coast include Miraflores, La Cala, Riviera, Torrenueva, etc. Marbella's most international marina, Puerto Banus, is a 20 minute drive away.


Malaga airport is approximately 25 minutes drive via the N340 motorway with easy access. Car hire is not essential as all amenities are close at hand but is recommended for exploring the surrounding areas. Gibraltar airport is approximately 45 mins. drive away.


Fuengirola 15 mins drive.

Marbella Old Town 15 mins drive.

La Cala, Spanish, coastal fishing village 5 mins drive.

Mijas - Charming whitewashed Spanish village 30 mins drive.

Ronda - Beautiful Spanish mountain village in the heart of National Heritage Park "Sierra de las Nieves" 45 mins drive.

Puerto Banus, world-famous leisure marina 20 mins drive.

Nearby agencies offer excursions to Mijas, Ronda and Gibraltar. Full day and longer trips are available to Seville and Granada.

The Calypso Block VIII and IX complex is between two small commercial complexes, the Moorish styled 'El Zoco' and the recently opened 'Los Olivos'. Both contain supermarkets stocking a wide range of English and Spanish products alongside fresh Spanish produce; banks, ATMs, newsagents (with UK press), cafeterias, restaurants, chemists, etc

Everything anyone could need is within less than 5 minutes walking distance. Many of the local restaurants are superb, offering a wide variety of choice.

Both duplexes are top-floor (third) in a small block with a lift. They are far enough away from the road and the nearby amenities to be quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to reach everything within less than a three minute walk. Both flats have uninterrupted sea views, and great balconies to sit out in the sun and relax. The complex enjoys a lovely swimming pool, surrounded by lawned gardens. It is within very short walking distance of the local beach, and the surrounding areas are easy to reach, keeping even the most intrepid holidaymakers well entertained, with plenty of places to visit and enjoy.
