Apartment in Burgau, Algarve

This luxury 2 bedroom apartment is situated in the delightful fishing village of Burgau on the exclusive, 4 star Domus Ibérica resort. Ideally located on the edge of the protected Costa Vicentina National Park, just 1 hour from Faro, it provides an excellent base for exploring this wonderful region. Whether you are walking, golfing, surfing or just chilling with the kids this area has something for all. Guests can enjoy the private onsite facilities that include a bar, restaurant, spacious pool including kids pool. A beautiful blue flag beach is a short walk down through the pretty cobbled streets of the village, where you can enjoy the local produce and catches at one of the many traditional restaurants. The historic town of Lagos with its walled city, modern marina and funky bars is only 10 mins drive, and the village of Luz is only 5 mins drive. There are numerous golf courses in the area and for the more adventurous world class surf beaches.

Immaculate and modern. Perfect apartment

Very clean, modern and tidy. Nice location so close to the centre of Burgau by a two minute walk and right opposite a lovely cafe and the pool. Spacious bedrooms and large living room. Kitchen was well kitted with washing machine, dishwasher microwave etc

Had a wonderful holiday here. Apartment really comfortable and well equipped. Even enjoyed not having wifi!! New restaurant at the pool very nice too. Love Burgau and would definitely come back to this apartment..... Location is ideal in the town. Thanks, Stephen.

Very clean well equipped apartment. A "welcome pack" would have been appreciated, arrival late eve.

Within short walk to all bars and restaurants and beach. Pool close by was really appreciated although service not too good at pool restaurant.

Overlooking pleasant garden area, all in all a good holiday destination .

Burgau Bliss

We use this apartment on a regular basis (at least once ever year sometimes more) and have stayed here many times. It is beautifully appointed and maintained and the perfect place for a family holiday. Plenty to see and do in this lovely area with great beaches, historic towns, fabulous scenery and lots of good restaurants in Burgau itself or not far away. We couldn't recommend it highly enough and also this charming little village.

We loved our stay in burgau. It's far enough from them tourist chaos but close enough to sustain great restaurants and shops. Steve's apartment made our stay perfect. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro at 95 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Burgau at 400 Metres Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Located next to the natural park, there are many beautiful walks. To the east is Luz, and Salema is to the west. Clifftop walks can be taken in either direction with breathtaking scenery and wonderful flora and fauna. Surfing is very popular in this part of the Algarve with excellent beaches and some of the best waves in Europe. There are many surf schools offering courses in this area and a local one that does pickups in Burgau every day during the holiday season.

For the windsurfing/kiting enthusiasts, Sagres (20 minutes) is an excellent location with consistent winds. Just recently the very exciting new Formula One track , the Autodromo, in Portimao opened. This facility is only a twenty minute drive from the apartment.


The beautiful beach of Burgau - one of the best and safest in the Algarve is just a few minutes walk. There are numerous other beaches within 10 minutes drive east or west. Just 15 minutes drive west are some less well known, but among the most stunning beaches you will ever see.


Faro Airport is a 1 hour drive away. The new A22 motorway is quick and easy to navigate making it a comfortable and straightforward journey. Although car hire is not essential it is recommended to enable you to get the most from this beautiful region.


The development is in Burgau itself and only a few minutes walk from its restaurants and local shops. Luz is a 5 minute drive with a wider range of restaurants, shops and a larger supermarket. Lagos - a beautiful, historic town with funky bars and restaurants and marina - is 10 minutes drive. Anybody that likes to explore can really enjoy Burgau as their base to travel to the west coast (beautiful beaches/surfing). The famous Roman spa town Monchique. Sagres (the end of the world/great sunsets).

Further Details:

Plenty of activities for the kids and kids at heart! There are two huge waterparks nearby: Slide and Splash water park is situated in Lagoa, a 20 minute drive, by car and Aqualand is at Alcantarilha, 30 minutes away. ZooMarine - with its aquatic animal shows and small theme park – is just 35 minutes away. Lagos Zoo is 15 minutes drive and from the marina in Lagos there are boat and fishing trips and dolphin watching. Scuba diving can be found in Lagos and Sagres, windsurfing in Martinhal, tennis courts in Burgau and riding stables in Almadena, a 5 minute drive. There is a general sports centre in Burgau which has an indoor pool, tennis court, playground and other activities for adults and children.

There is also a cash machine in the village and many others in Luz and Lagos.
