Located just outside Lourinha, within 150m from the sea, a 10/15 minute walk will take you to the beautiful sandy beach of Praia de Areia Branca (Lifeguards in summer). There are numerous excellent beaches in the area. In nearby Lourinha, approx 5 mins drive away, you will find banks, supermarkets, restaurants, tourist information etc. Similar facilities in Areia Branca (5 mins drive). Peniche, a fishing town famous for its fabulous surfing and wind surfing, is a 15 minute drive. Peniche has traditional Portuguese restaurants overlooking the marina. Enjoy water sports, go-carting and horse riding in the area. Ideal location to explore the many places of interest in the Lisbon/Silver Coast region, including Obidos, Fatima and Nazare.

About the Owner

We fell in love with the wonderful Silver Coast scenery while on a visit to a friend's property near Areia Branca.

In 2008 we bought our own beautiful house there and decorated it with the same care and attention that we give to our family home. It's wonderful to wake up on a beautiful sunny morning and see the fantastic, uninterrupted sea views from our balconies. There is so much to see and do in the area, from surfing at Baleal, to sightseeing at historic Obidos and Fatima. Visits to Sintra and Lisbon are no problem with the excellent A8 motorway. There are restaurants to suit all tastes from excellent local seafood restaurants, a great Italian restaurant in Peniche, to Mc Donalds and Pizza Hut in the Arena Shopping Centre. A winning combination for all the family!

Good size villa with lovely views

Good clean facilities in a spacious terraced villa. Good to have a dishwasher and a washing machine. Could have done with more furniture in bedrooms. eg chair in main room and a wardrobe in upper room.Cable TV but this went down for 4 days. Well situated for local beach (seas quite rough in August) and charming local town of Lourinha. Obidos and Nazare are worth visiting as well as the Berlengas Island off the interesting town of Peniche. Book the boat the day before and go in morning.for a day trip.. Visit Sintra on rtn to Lisbon airport. Fascinating if quite touristy.

The quaint town of Lourinha is wonderful to stroll around. Stop for an ice-cream or crepe at the ice-cream parlour in the market square. Peniche, Areia Branca and Baleal are only a short distance and offer great surfing, sunbathing and beach side cafes. The area offers the perfect blend of peace and quiet in off season, yet comes to life in peak season, particularly at weekends!

Nearest Airport : Lisbon at 70 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Beach Bar, Areal Beach at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Chafariz at 2 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Praia Areal, Areia Branca at 1 Kilometres Car: necessary


Excellent beaches in the surrounding area including Praia de Areia Branca (approx 10/15 mins walk). Supertubos and Consolacao in Peniche and Baleal (20 mins by car) offer excellent water sports facilities including surfing and windsurfing.


Lisbon Airport - approx 70kms from Lourinha (45/50 minutes drive from the complex along the excellent A8 motorway). Porto and Faro airports are approx 2 and 3 hours drive. Flights from the UK available from BA, TAP, Monarch, BMI Baby, Ryanair and Easyjet. From Ireland, Aer Lingus/Ryanair to Lisbon/Ryanair to Porto. While coach/bus service is available from Lisbon Airport to Lourinha, car hire is recommended.

Peniche approx 15kms.

Obidos (World Heritage Site) approx 30kms.

Torres Vedras 20 minutes drive (Excellent newly built Arena Shopping Centre on the outskirts of Torres Vedras - wide range of shops and restaurants within the centre).

Further Details:

Excellent location to explore the many places of interest in the Lisbon/Silver coast area, including Obidos, Nazare, Fatima and Coimbra to the North, and Mafra, Sintra, Cascais and of course, Lisbon to the South.

Activities in the area in include go-carting at Lourinha/Peniche and Bombarral, water sports at Peniche, Baleal, Areia Branca and Foz do Arelho. Aqua Park at Peniche in summer time.

Dinosaur museum in Lourinha.

Bacalhoa Buddha Eden Park and Qunita dos Loridos winery a must see - Trip Advisor rating 4.5. Near Bombarral approx. 25 kms from Lourinha.

There are a wide range of supermarkets in the area including Intermarche, Lidl, Pingo Doce, Leclerc, Jumbo and Continente.

Restaurants and cafes:

Lourinha try the following restaurants: Chafariz and Avenida and cafe shops Doce Fantasia;

Areia Branca : Foz Restaurant and Pizzaria Da Praia. There is also a newly opened Indian restaurant, Maharani;

Akiakopus Cafe Bar - good for light breakfast and snacks; also try Areal Beach Bar - lovely setting right on the beach;

Peniche: Italian Il Boccone, Nau Dos Corvos at Cabo Carvoeiro

Full gas central heating throughout the house, with wood-burning stove in the lounge area, suitable for use in the winter months. The property has its own underground parking facilities.
