Good premises just a few downfalls
I visited this property with my mother, younger sisters and brother as a family treat. The Trulli and studio are great facilities especially with the private pool to explore Puglia. However, we had a few issues.
The property manager we could not get a hold of to meet at 4pm. We did arrive early around 3pm and was told he would be at the property in around 25 minutes. He turned up at 4:20, so later than the actual agreed time of arrival. I mentioned I couldn’t get through to his phone and he asked if I had called around 3. Then he said he didn’t have his phone on him so it was all rather confusing. We then received a text the next day to say he would be by to collect the cleaners keys which were very readily accessible. I was a bit annoyed that we could not have been informed and just let ourselves in until he arrived.
Second issue, out of the property owners control is the substantial number of mosquitoes, all of us were eaten alive. No matter how many sprays, citronella candles or plug ins. To the point I couldn’t walk for a day my legs where bitten that badly. The patio adjacent to the pool had several areas of spilled wax we assume from the previous visitors.
Third issue, the air con in the Trulli would not work. Someone was sent out, who via google translate said the unit is too old to be repaired. Now I know it’s out of the owners hands if this had broken but I wonder if this unit has been serviced. Particularly with the dangers of legionella being emitted.
We did have two power cuts during our stay one by a storm and the second was a scheduled power company maintenance. Again out of his control, however bear in mind everything including the water is electronically pumped. Meaning no toilets.
Following the storm and power cuts, the Trulli started to smell quite strange a musty almost sewer like smell. However that was our second to last day and we weren’t about much.
Lastly the Trulli in some very small parts was quite dirty, particularly around the beds.
