Fiuggi Città is a medieval fortified village, which was around even before Roman times; it is on the hilltop with narrow streets and hidden restaurants. Visitors to the old town center can discover the charm of this historic village, with small palaces, houses for craftsmen, shepherds and farmers, churches, small squares and alleyways as they were in the sixteenth century.
Fiuggi Fonte the modern town in the valley where the thermal springs are located, is a lovely, pleasant modern town which really stands out amongst all the other places in the area, unlike the old town, here you will find wide, flat streets sided by modern hotels, fashionable boutiques, antique shops, art galleries, and outdoor cafe's.

The photo's on your website looked beautiful but the real thing still surpassed our expectations. The apartment was well equipped and we particularly appreciated the garden produce and the way you thoughtfully shopped for us when we arrived late. We have enjoyed Rome, Naples, the hilltop towns and mountains as well as being able to relax in such a friendly and quiet location back at the villa.
Thank you for helping to make our memories of Italy very special and enabling us to feel so at home..

We thought long and hard whether to stay in Rome or outside. Now we are glad we chose Fiuggi, for as much as we enjoyed Rome, we were happy to have somewhere clean, cool and comfortable to ‘come home’ to. As well as Rome we also enjoyed our trip to Pompeii and our day at Terracina beach. This holiday surely had something for everyone, to our surprise our two teenagers enjoyed themselves a lot. We've just returned from two fantastic weeks at Villa Marta in the lovely town of Fiuggi and would whole-heartedly recommend it.
We landed at Rome Ciampino airport in the late evening, but the villa is an easy drive along the Autostrada and we were provided with excellent directions. Despite our late arrival, we were warmly greeted by Dorothy who welcomed us and got us settled in quickly and without fuss.
The four of us stayed in the spacious ground floor apartment at Villa Marta, which has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with an en-suite. There is also a separate bathroom and large kitchen and living areas. The apartment was immaculate inside and cool despite the 35 degree heat outside.
The apartment opens out onto the large enclosed garden and there is space at the side of the apartment where we could park our hire car. The well kept garden has a lovely gazebo where you can eat or relax in the shade, garden furniture, a second sheltered table area and a double swing.
There's also a great little plunge pool, which is perfect for cooling off or for younger children to swim about in. Our eight-year-old daughter loved it.
The main town is within walking distance of the villa (30 mins) and the old town is also accessible on foot (30 mins), although it is on a hill so there's a short fairly steep stretch up-hill - the views are amazing. Both parts of Fiuggi offer an variety of things to do. We visited the Fonte Bonifacio VIII to sample the water, which Fiuggi is famous for, dined at La Grotta and La Taverna del Castello in the old town, and enjoyed excellent ice cream at the Gelateria Ester.
Fiuggi is also well located for exploring further afield. We took the bus from Fiuggi direct to Rome twice, which takes an hour and a half and drops you at the main Termini station. Dorothy gave plenty of advice about how to get the Birg tickets, times and securing a seat!
We also visited Pompeii, which is a two hour drive, but well worth it, Villa d'Este in Tivoli, and Ostia Antica just outside Rome. All excellent places to visit giving a rich insight into Roman history. There is a waterpark in Frosinone, which is a half an hour drive away. With several water slides, three large pools and plenty of space to sunbath on the (rented) sunbeds, this was a great day out, which we all enjoyed.
Dorothy and Biagio are lovely hosts and are always on hand to help or offer
This was a nice property with lovely owners on site. Perched halfway up a hill gives you a quite splendid view of the beautiful green hills or mountains right across from our balcony. Dorothy and her hubby are just amazing in their concern for you to have a great holiday. As little or as much interaction as suits you. You can't fail to like them. A last minute email from BA changing our flight home from Rome to Naples was disconcerting, but full access to Dorothy's PC and printer made short work of that little problem. I can't praise them, enough. Where have you been where the doorbell rings and a plate of roasted, breaded courgettes are on the step? Courtesy of the lovely Dorothy...
The apartment was nicely appointed, reflecting the rustic area it sits in. It really felt like a quiet piece of Italy. There were a few very nice restaurants in the old town as well as a couple in the new town, both 5 minutes drive away.
We were the only guests, that week, so we had their lovely generous sized garden to ourselves. Super little gazebo type sun shelter was welcome when the sun got a little hot.
The owners directions and instructions to get to Rome on the train were great and she is right in saying you'd best not take the car into Rome. London style busy. In fact, their apartment was chock a block of outstanding info on where to go and what to do...
Recommended if like me, you like places a little out of the way, since you need a car here.
The view from their balcony will stay with me for some time...
We stayed at Villa Marta for 2 weeks at the start of June. The villa and gardens surrounding it are in such a lovely setting in the village of Fiuggi. The apartment is very spacious, clean, well furnished and equipped. We booked the ground floor for the easy access to the garden and the outside spaces for eating outdoors. The apartment and Fiuggi is well located to explore many of the attractions in the region, we had a very busy 2 weeks but having the lovely Villa Marta to come back to ensured that our stay was very relaxing. Dorothy the owner was very helpful and friendly and definitely went the extra mile to ensure that our holiday was good. I would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Marta as a =n excellent holiday rental
This is our return visit to Italy and the Villa Marta. The apartment is well equipped and is in a good locale for touring Central Italy - Rome, Pompeii, Monte Cassino and the coast. It is good at the end of a busy day to return to Fiuggi to relax. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make suggestions about where you can go and visit. Fiuggi unlike staying in Rome or the bigger cities gives you a better flavour of Italy and Fiuggi is an ideal holiday destination for young and old alike. Would highly recommend a stay at the Villa Marta.
