House has fabulous views over the resort and golf course to the ocean beyond. Perfect location for family holidays and golf or tennis breaks. The extensive Parque da Floresta leisure facilities include heated swimming pools, (including childrens pool), children's clubs, gym, spa, tennis, bowls and restaurants and of course the spectacular championship 18 hole golf course with regular tournaments. The Western Algarve has a rugged splendour with magnificent uncrowded long sandy beaches - perfect for surfing or bodyboarding. Nearest beach to resort is a five minute drive. Excellent range of local restaurants in the nearby villages and on the local beaches at good value prices. Local atttractions include the historic walled town of Lagos (15 mins drive) with many pavement cafes, bars and shops.

About the Owner

My husband Roy and our two boys Robert (21) and Ollie (20) live in East Finchley, North London with our two lovely black and white cats. Ollie and Robert go to university and Roy and I both work, so day-to-day life is pretty busy. We are quite an active and sporty family, so though we want to relax and get away from it all on holiday, we also like to have plenty to do. The facilities at Parque da Floresta (recently re-named Santo Antonio) - and the lovely sunshine provide us with lots of opportunities to have fun. We bought the townhouse seven years ago and now go there three or four times a year (The boys still go skiing in Winter).

Perfect area for families

This was our first visit to the western Algarve and I must say that it was perfect in everyway. The villa is situated in a lovely quiet golf complex with all the amenities you need and with in 5 minutes drive you have some beautiful beaches as well. The villa itself is very homely and equipped with everything you need which makes for a comfortable stress free vacation. We will definitely be back.

Ideal for our short holiday

The accommodation was as described and very comfortable, in fact ideal for the golfing break we were looking for. The house was clean, well equipped and in a good location with a spectacular view from the balcony and roof terrace. The owner was extremely helpful with the late booking. The golf course was difficult and kept us on our toes. It was only a short distance to the coast with lovely walks and beaches. In all a wonderful break.

Location

We fell in love with Parque da Floresta when the children were very small, as it provided the perfect place for a sunny and relaxing family holiday. We also loved the Western Algarve as it is so much less crowded than the rest of the Algarve, yet still easily accessible from Faro airport. The sandy beaches are gorgeous and never crowded even in the height of the season. We are also keen tennis players, so this was another attraction at the resort. The weekly tournaments are very friendly and provide a good opportunity for us to make friends with other families. Finally, after renting for seven years, we bought our own golf village town house and haven't regretted it for one minute.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

5 minutes drive to the nearest beach. The coast has a rugged splendour with wild shores pounded by the Atlantic Ocean and magnificent long sandy unspoilt beaches which never seem crowded.

Travel:

The house is located in the relatively undeveloped Western Algarve. Faro airport is an hour's drive away (Lisbon airport 2-3 hours). Car hire is highly recommended.

Distances:

Nearest village is Budens which is on doorstep of resort with a well-stocked supermarket. Salema is 5 minutes drive away and other nearby villages on the coast are Sagres and Burgau. Lagos is the nearest town (15 mins drive to the east).

Having rented for many years we knew what kind of house we wanted and the best location on the resort. Our house is in the original golf village. This means it is the most convenient in terms of location for easy access to the resort facilities eg golf clubhouse, main pool, spa and gym. All are only a few minutes walk from the house. We also realised that our house was significantly larger than the other 2-bedroom houses we had rented. It has very high ceilings and a large open-plan sitting/dining area which makes it feel very spacious. There is also a good size terrace off the sitting room with views over the golf course towards the sea. In particular the bedrooms are stylishly furnished and both have sliding patio doors with direct access to the gardens.
