Apartment in Vila Sol Golf and Spa Resort, Vilamoura, Portugal - Ideal For Golf, Leisure And Families Who Are Looking For High Quality Accommodation

Luxurious, air-conditioned, 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment. Set on the Vila Sol 27 hole championship golf course. This is also a great location for family based enjoyment (those of us that don't play golf). The apartment is equipped with tennis rackets and balls for the 2 astro courts, 2 full size tennis courts. Playstation 2 with games, Wii with games, Cluedo, Monopoly, bat and ball buckets and spades and cable tv. For non golfers there is a choice of 2 pools including 2 children's paddling pools. Set in beautiful natural surroundings that also enjoys tennis courts, nearby beautiful beaches, nature walk and jogging track, plus a superb 5* hotel with its choice of fantastic restaurants. On site we now have a traditional pub called Oscars, a beautiful cocktail and restaurant called moon and a traditional wine bar and tapas restaurant. The centre of Vilamoura is just 10 mins drive away with its fabulous marina and Faro airport is within easy access. Aqua show water park and ice skating is just 5 minutes away by car. Walking distance to Golf Club, great for lunch also.

Our second stay at this apartment, which offers spacious, modern accomodation with contemporary furnishings and all the equipment that you need. The complex is very clean and never seems overcrowded. The pool area is spotless. We used the hotel for lunch on several occasions and can recommend the food there. If you're lucky it is great for celebrity spotting too! Since we first stayed in the apartment a new bars, pizza take away and restuarants had opened up at the entrance of Vila Sol. We used these on a regular basis especially Oscars which provided entertainment on a regular basis and was great to sit and have a drink. There is also a well stocked supermarket and deli in this area too. Best of all though, we really enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening with a nice glass of vino. We will have no hesitation in using this apartment again in the future! New Ice Skating Rink that was great for our Family to enjoy, felt very safe and privaleged to stay in this fabulous apartment.

Peace and tranquility

We recently stayed at this apartment and it was so peaceful and tranquil, we had a lovely holiday. The apartment is on a great complex with excellent facilities and is well equipped. It was very clean and tidy and the owners have made it very homely. There is much to do in the area, but a car is recommended to fully explore, particularly Vale do Lobo and Faro old town, but the apartment is in a good place for all the sites. The apartment has a wonderful terrace to watch the sunsets and is so close to the pool for a dip in the late afternoon. Thank you.

Sunset Villas, Vila Sol - great stay

Lovely relaxing location at the golf club end of the Vila Sol complex. A perfect villa for taking the family for a week in the sun with 3 comfortable sized bedrooms and a lovely lounge/dining area to unwind at the end of the day. Pool is nearby but you do need a hire car to get to local beaches and other amenities.

I would thoroughly recommend this villa and the ease with which it was rented out is testament to some lovely owners. Very much a "home from home" experience.

After many visits to the Algarve we decided to look for a property in 2007. We were attracted to Portugal for many reasons, fantastic restaurants, great climate, clean beaches and streets, low crime rate, friendliness of the Portuguese people and a such a great place spend time with friends and family.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Ria Formosa is a UNESCO protected natural wildlife park within a 20 minute car drive. Here you can see birds on their migrating pathway from Africa to Europe, as they stop to rest and refuel by eating shrill and other indigenous foods needed to enable them to carry on on their journey. In Summer and Autumn thousands of Flamingos can be seen as they visit the wetlands at Ria Formosa. We recently hired a sail boat (40 Euros) across the lake and later cycled around the lake (bike hire available) and had a picnic whilst watching the flamingos and egrets across the wetlands, it was a great day out for the family our children loved really the experience. You can sail a hobby cat, wind sail, kayak and also hire a pedalo with a trampoline attached so the children can bounce up and down down in the lake, whilst the parents pedal the boat.

Coast/Beach:

The Algarve offers some of the best unspoilt beaches in Europe. Vilamoura is a beautiful area that has been tastefully designed and created, without becoming overdeveloped. The award winning marina is easily accessible from the apartment along the Algarve coast, all within easy reach (5-10 mins by car), or in a taxi (usually 7-8 Euros). We can recommednd a local lake where you can sail, canoe, sail board and use pedalos. Also water skiing, paragliding and jet skiing are also available.

Travel:

Faro Airport is only 20 mins drive away and the apartment is easy to find. Use of a car is strongly recommended and car hire is available at Faro Airport. There are taxis available at the airport if you prefer not to drive.

We generally hire a car from the Airport for the week and use it during the daytime and order a taxi from the Hotel (3 minutes walk away) so we can enjoy a drink at the Marina.

There are taxi ranks at the Marina so you do't have to worry about getting back to the apartment.

Distances:

Vilamoura is approx 10 mins drive away and there are numerous shops and restaurants around the beautiful marina, which is the largest in Europe and one of the most idyllic. There are Medieval castles that date back to the 10th Century and many picturesque historic lovely towns and fishing villages all within a reasonable driving distance. If you're going out for a special occasion and want a chauffeured driven Mercedes to drop you off and pick you up for a few euros more please ask us.

All within 5 min drive, or 15 minute walk on site Local supermarket, Traditional Irish, Creperie and cake cafe, Newsagents amd Local Portuguease restaurant. Other places to see Quarteira 5 mins drive. Almancil 10 mins drive. Aqua Park for the family 5 mins drive. Albufeira 20 mins drive. Zoo Marine 30 mins drive. Vale do Lobo 15 mins drive. Quinta da Lago 10 mins drive. Vilamoura Marina 5 mins drive. Go Karting-10 mins drive (160cc-390cc karts). Apolonia supermarket (similar to Sainsbury's) 10 mis drive away. Recently opened large Supermarket 5 minutes drive away offering great value for money.

A deposit of 25% of the price of your villa rental is due within 7 days of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining 75% plus a damage deposit of £300 is due 8 weeks prior to your arrival date.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is generally Saturday, however for bookings of 7 days or more we offer more flexibility.

Notes on prices:
Prices are per week in UK Pounds. based on 4 people and 2 bedroom occupancy. Payment also in Euros, subject to exchange rates. Normal booking dates are Sat. to Sat. (flexible depending on occupancy). Arrival after 3.30pm/departure prior to 11.30am (to allow for cleaning plus linen change). We like to be as accommodating as poss, if you have an earlier flight please advise and we will endeavour to prepare the apartment earlier. Cheque or Bank transfer.

Our property offers good overall room sizes and a layout that works well for famalies with children. Adults can have their own space when needed, as can teenagers. We love spending our time on the patio area, whilst the others can watch tv or have a meal in the dining room or lounge. The apartment is located in the Vila Sol golf club grounds and the patio is approx 80 yards behind the 1st tee. Back home we rise at 6.30 am, however in the apartment we close the shutters and wake around 9am +. Our children Olivia 18 & Grace 16 love the apartment. They meet up with other children in the summer months and spend most of the days around the pool areas, playing ping pong in the games room at the Hotel and tennis (free of charge with our equipment) or saling or canoing in lake 20 mins away.

  • Notes on accommodation: South facing patio, fully central heated and air-conditioned and highly suitable for children. We look forward to our family holidays in the Algarve and believe they should be as special as possible for ourselves and our guests. Within walking distance a Supermarket, Irish bar offering traditional food (bangers and mash, steak and ale pie). Also Creperie serving coffee, tea and soft drinks, cakes all within 5 mins drive, or a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Welcome packs can be provided to get you started for your holiday (paid in advance). If you have not driven abroad before, fear not as the roads are generally a lot quieter than those in the UK and the driving is really easy and well sign posted. The rental car companies generally provide local maps that are easy to navigate from. The property and surrounding areas are very safe. The apartment is perfectly located and easy to find from the airport. Patio doors are easy to use and are electrically operated. WIFI now available. Outside: Large private south facing rear terrace not overlooked and set amongst beautiful gardens. New Patio table and chairs, sun loungers and parasol all provided free of charge. The golf course 1st tee is approx 80m away. There are 2 pools on the complex, including 2 children's pools with extensive grass relaxation areas around (one equipped with loungers), nearest pool is literally 1 minute walk from the apartment, allowing the children time to play whilst the adults can have a drink on the sun terrace. The design of this 5* resort has been extremely well planned with beautiful walk ways, palm trees, pools and pretty gardens. Most owners have bought their accommodation as second properties for themselves so the resort is never over crowded, it’s peaceful and tranquil and is the ideal place where the children can enjoy the facilities whilst their parents can relax in comfort and style. Utility Room: Washing machine, dryer, airer, iron and ironing board. Rings for pool, floats, balls, tennis rackets, skim board for the children and Dad's to use in sea, retractable washing line. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bedlinen are included. This property is always immaculately cleaned before and after occupancy. Further cleaning available at additional cost on request. 24hr local contact available for your convenience. Cots can be provided (local charge). Other: Large sun terrace, bathed in sun shine for most of the day. Ratan Patio table, with 6 chairs, Ratan sofa set, 6 sun chairs and parasol. Terrace faces towards 1st tee, which is approx 80m away.
