Located in the hamlet of Alporchinos near Porches and Lagoa. About 40 minutes drive from Faro airport.The apartment is located within the grounds of the Pestana Viking Resort which has a 4 star rating by the department of Tourism. Walk to the supermarket and several very nice restaurants. To explore other beautiful places in the area a rental car is advised. The Algarve has much to offer as you will see when you visit the old town of Lagos with its narrow streets, the historic town of Silves with its medieval walled castle, and many other nearby sites.

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a two story building with a nice garden and patio area for outside dining. With two bedrooms (one with double bed and one with two twin beds), a lovely dining/lounge area the apartment is ideal for 4 people and spacious by European standards. There is a large swimming pool available exclusively for apartment guests.

Weekly maid service is provided for cleaning and bed linen change for those staying multiple weeks, extra cleaning can be arranged locally at your own cost.

A courtesy bus twice daily from the hotel will take you in to Armacao de Pera where there are many restaurants, a spectacular beach which at the far end is a fishing beach.

The apartment is in a mature location with landscape gardens and was totally refurbished in 2007.

This area is fantastic if you are seeking a totally relaxing holiday to unwind and rejuvenate. Cliff top walks and breathtaking views.

It is also child friendly and the apartment is fully self contained.

Close to many amenities and should you wish to explore further a field car hire is available on site.

The apartment is situated on a cliff top above the ocean with ocean views from the garden. Lovely cliff top trails for miles of walking and enjoying the breathtaking ocean views. Five minute walk to stunning beach with natural caves. Watch the local fishermen bring in their daily catch and enjoy fresh fish cooked up at the seaside restaurant. Swim in the ocean-view pool exclusively for owners and guests. Conveniently located for exploring the beautiful Algarve region and taking in the historical sights. Many nearby locations offering beautiful Portuguese pottery.

"The property was was well located for a small range of high quality restuarants and had an excellent range of facilities available thorough the hotel which we all made full use of. The property was immaculate with a good range of equipment to cater for all needs.

The beaches were beautifully clean and easily accessible with a buggy making it a great beach holiday with young children. We would thoroughly recommend this as a holiday destination for a relaxing and peaceful time."

Travel:

The nearest airport is Faro and is approx. 40 minutes drive to the resort. Car hire is not essential as all facilities including restaurants and supermarkets are nearby and can be reached on foot. Airport transfers can be arranged from Faro airport at a discounted rate via the resort hotel and car hire can also be arranged locally at the resort if required.

Zoomarine - an oceanographic theme park, including a dolphinarium.

Guia - you will find one of the most famous piri-piri restaurant in the Algarve.

Algarve Shopping - similar to the outlet villages in the UK. Albufeira - the centre for nightlife.

Vilamoura - a visit to the marina is a must and maybe a boat trip along the coast. The marina is surrounded by restaurants and shops and is an ideal spot for a coffee and watching the world go by.

Quarteira - the newly opened Aquashow boasting the largest aqua-coaster in Europe. Also at Quarteira, the weekly regional market held on Wednesdays is an experience not to be missed.

Aqualand - one of the Algarve's noted water parks with large water slides.

Slide and Splash - another of the Algarve's fabulous water parks.

Silves - the historic former capital of the Algarve with its castle and its Cork Museum.

Monchique/Caldas de Monchique - Monchique is the highest town in the Algarve and views from here and Foia are extensive. You can see right along the coastline from Portimao to Lagos and beyond.

Caldas de Monchique, which you pass through on the road from Silves to Monchique is an attractive spa resort whose thermal waters are said to be effective in the treatment of skin diseases.

Portimao - renowned for its quayside sardines, is also a major shopping area. There are boat trips from here up-river to Silves, which are both informative and relaxing.

Lagos - a beautiful town with its wide seafront promenade, the 'Golden Church', many restaurants and cafes and spectacular coastal rock formations.

Great location with a beautiful beach!

We had a wonderful time here! The location was great with the most beautiful beach a short walk away! The perfect place for exploring nearby Albufeira, Tavira, Faro and Silves but then coming home to a peaceful, relaxing place. The kids enjoyed the pool area and the Italian restaurant there was fabulous. Nearby Palmeiras restaurant/bar was also a big hit and a good place to go for drinks and snacks after a good day in the sun. The apartment was spacious and equipped with everything you would need for an amazing holiday! Would definitely return.

Great family holiday

We had a lovely time in Julia's apartment which was clean and had all we needed (including kids beach toys) for our 9 day stay. The location was great - a few minutes walk to two fantastic beaches and access to the communal pool for the apartments as well as the hotels outdoor and indoor pools. Would definitely recommend for a sunny family holiday.

Great family holiday

Great apartments, functional with modern fittings, very clean and access to the pestina hotels facilities (pools, towels, tennis court, spa etc). Also a few minutes walk to perfect beach and if you feel adventurous take one of the small fishing boats for a cave tour. All the locals are very friendly and the area is very quite but good restaurant and bar within a few minute walk. 15 minute drive to the aqua marina or other more livley towns just 20 minutes away..staff at the hotel couldn't do more to help you some of the friendliest I have met

Had an excellent family holiday. The apartment was large enough so we didn't get under one anothers feet and the funishings were comfortable and of good quality. I enjoy cooking and found the kitchen had every thing I needed. Access to the facilities at the Viking hotel was excellent and gave the children 15 and 11 a good choice of pools and sports. I especially like the choice of salt water or fresh water pools. Having three beaches in close proximity also left us spoilt for choice and the cliff top paths were quite breathtaking. In the local area we found a variety of good quality restuarants within easy walking distance, though people should be aware there are some steep hills to negotiate. In terms of nightlife the area is quiet which suited us although the hotel does put on entertainment each night and the nearby town looks to be much more geared for partying and is only a short taxi ride away. All in all we would all be more than happy to go back.
