3bedroom, 2bathroom cottage with stunning rural view,close to the sea.

Welcome to Suaimhneas.

This is a three bedroomed cottage. There is one double ensuite downstairs and a double and twin upstairs. There is a bathroom upstairs with shower over bath. Downstairs there is a toilet. The cottage has a cosy lounge with inglenook with solid fuel stove. A starter fuel pack is provided for each guest. There is a television, dvd player and radio/cd player.

Off of this is a fully equipped kitchen cum

dining room with electric oven and grill, microwave, gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. All necessary delph and cutlery are provided.

The downstairs double ensuite includes a spacious electric shower.

All duvets, towels and linen provided.

The cottage is situated on its own private enclosed grounds which provide ample parking, safe playground for children and secluded area to relax and sunbathe or enjoy an open air picnic and view the scenic countryside.Combining the best of both worlds it has every modern convenience and all the romantic appeal of a traditional cottage.

The interiors are finished in natural wood which creates a warm welcoming atmosphere. Suaimhneas is approved by the Irish Tourist Board. It is located 1km from the village of Ballylickey which is nestling on the edge of beautiful Bantry Bay with the backdrop of the Caha Mountain Range.

Here there are hotels, award winning restaurants and pubs, supermarkets, and it is on the bus route. There are several little bays and inlets where you can swim and fish. The cottage is 7km from the maritime heritage town of Bantry, and Glengarriff is 12km away and is the gateway for touring both the Beara peninsula and the Ring of Kerry.

Comfortable, large, peaceful home from home.

Comfortable farmhouse in peaceful, rural location. Had everything we needed and ample space for 6 people. Clean & tidy with an old world rustic charm, lovely open fire which we didn't need to use as the weather was brilliant. Kathleen the host very informative and helpful with details of local sights and directions. Great base to explore the Beara Peninsula which has some of the most outstanding views I have ever seen. Close to both Bantry & Glengariff which are lovely towns. If you do one thing while visiting the area, drive the coastal road from Glengariff-castletownbere-eyeries, onto Lauragh, drive up over the Caha Mountains past Glanmore Lake, view from the top is immense with more jaw dropping views on the way down over the Healy pass.

My home away from home!

I've been a frequent visitor to Kathleen & Jack's West Cork cottage for about 10yrs now. I visit twice a year and it really is my sanctuary. I couldn't imagine a time when I wouldn't come to stay. The house itself is everything you would expect from a traditional country farmhouse with all its character and charm, with the added advantage of the creature comforts we've all come to expect. It's the perfect base to explore our beautiful coastline, and a warm, cosy cottage to come home to in the evenings. Light a fire, open a bottle of wine and just let yourself unwind. It's paradise!

6th Visit and still loving it

Our sixth visit and to summarise, the welcome was as expected, The weather was the best yet and more surprises in the local wild life with wrens squatting in a swallows nest, pipistrelle bats in the garage with 6 young and six baby rabbits around the front of the cottage all day, fantastic. I read the other reviews and surprised at the one negative review. Log fire available, (weather too warm) place very clean and tidy and an updated cooker and microwave, Thank you again Kathleen and Jack for the warm welcome. Manning's tapas night very good but disappointed with O'Connor's restaurant this time. Warm welcome at the Bridge Inn, good food.

We toured Mizen, Sheeps Head, Glengariff and the Beara Penninsula by day and in the evenings enjoyed the comforts of this charming cottage. Looking forward to a return visit.

Lovely holiday staying in a lovely cottage.

A very fine example of a traditional West Cork farm house. The interior is a delight with the original crane in the fireplace. Excellent country style kitchen and very clean and tidy. The beds are really comfortable. The cottage is very warm and dry and has a fantastic view.

Kathleen made us very welcome and is an absalute delight.

West Cork is the most beautiful part of Ireland. Bantry market on Friday is worth a visit to stock up with local produce and fresh sea food.

We would recommend staying here at any time of the year. We hope to return in the future.
