Apartment in Cala D'Or, Mallorca, Balearic Islands - Walking Distance To Beach And Shops

'El Puerto' is a new development (built 2006) comprising 6 attractive blocks set in delightful landscaped gardens with palm trees and a magnificent swimming pool for the exclusive use of residents and their guests. Our apartment is in the smallest block (6 flats only), has the best site location backing onto open farmland, adjoins a 'greenbelt' area to the front looking towards the beautiful marina and wonderful views to the hills from the side and is furthest from the road. About 5 mins walk to the Marina with its superb restaurants and about 20 mins walk to the town of Cala D'Or with its' excellent shops and numerous restaurants. Our apartment is on the ground floor with its own private fully fenced garden and large patio. The swimming pool with children's area is within 100 yards where you can relax on the pool loungers. We love Cala D'or

We spent two wonderful weeks in the lovely area of Cala D'Or where there are lots of things to see and do, wonderful restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets both in the Marina and town. Friendly, prompt and efficient booking and quick return of deposit. A very much appreciated welcome pack awaited us. This is a lovely well kept complex in a very convenient situation. Very nice private garden, excellent for following the sun! Although rather noisy from a very busy road. This apartment is eight years old, the photos used do not give a true representation of it as it is now, as it is now very cluttered. Sofa, armchair and dining suite are all in need of a deep clean as is kitchen, throw, lamps and picture frames in master bedroom.

NOT the apartment for you if you require: A full length mirror or drawers in master bedroom. To watch much TV (small, sky news and the odd film). Wifi is intermittent. No DVD. No hifi or iPod dock. No microwave. Cutlery very sparse, some rusty utensils.

Dinner plates do not fit in dishwasher, there are others but you are told NOT TO TOUCH! These along with alcohol in sideboard come with a HANDS OFF! Notice, CHARMING! (much nicer if these along with all the family photos were popped in private cupboard).

We were also unlucky to have a digger and two lorrys working from 7:30 am until 7:00pm in farmland next door.

I'm afraid this apartment is tired and in need of de-cluttering and refreshing to bring it back to it's former glory.

perfect location

This was the perfect location for strolling down to the marina with its lovely restaurants and bars. Also not far to walk into town where there were even more restaurants and bars. The apartment itself is a bit tired and could do with more utensils and crockery etc. Ideal for two but would have been more difficult with four people. The linen and towels were all provided and were supposed to be white, I am sure they were clean, but all had stains on them, which was a little off putting. The shared swimming pool was lovely and never crowded in fact we rairly saw more than ten people round it. The outside space round the apartment was brilliant, we could follow the sun round as the day went on. The weather as well was fantastic.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Every conceivable sport close by. Sailing, water skiing, scuba diving, golf, tennis, glass bottomed boats and motor boat charter. Have a day out with a qualified skipper and take a picnic and go to a beautiful beach or cove.


Several beaches within easy reach around the Cala D'Or area. There are some wonderful beaches on the island with excellent beach bars.


Palma Airport is less than an hour's drive away. There are plenty of taxis at the airport and car hire is easy. This can be organised online or we can advise you which firms we have used. There is a regular public transport 'road train' serving the whole area and this passes the development outside the gate.

We have prepared some notes on the area with information on tried and tested restaurants, shops and places to visit which will be found in the apartment. We have been visiting Mallorca for 10 years so there is not a lot we can't tell you about this beautiful island!

A deposit of 50% of the rent should also be paid when you reserve the apartment and the balance (50%) paid at least 8 weeks before your departure to Majorca. Should you cancel within 8 weeks of your stay, then 50% of the rental will be refunded to you. There is no refund if you cancel within 4 weeks of your stay.
