This is a new sixth floor penthouse apartment with 3 bedrooms, lounge/dining living area, separate kitchen, two balconies and a further totally private roof sun-terrace accessed via a spiral staircase inside the apartment.

The master suite can be made up as a superking double or twin and has its own private balcony, dressing room and en suite marble tiled bathroom. The other bedrooms are large twin rooms. A child's cot is available if specified at the booking.

There is a second fully equipped tiled bathroom.

The huge living area comprising a lounge section with leather seating, and a dining area with high quality furniture, with direct access to the main balcony on the same level. The separate fully-fitted kitchen also accesses the main balcony balcony, facilitating outdoor dining. The balcony is equipped with a gas fired barbecue and an outdoor dining suite.

The apartment is served with WiFi, a large screen television in the living area with internet connection to UK and other English language television channels.

From the hallway a staircase leads to the extensive private rooftop sun terrace with glimpses of the sea and surrounding town and countryside. It is furnished with six sun loungers, outdoor seating with coffee table and a "cooling off" shower.

The apartment has two reserved parking spaces in the basement of the complex, accessible only with a security device. There are also convenient parking spaces outside.

The apartment complex has its own (free) fitness centre, with gym, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

It is 5 minutes walk to the seafront, the historic old town, marina, shops and restaurants. The beach is walking distance. 2 golf courses adjoin Lagos town, and there are 25 more – and counting – in the Algarve region within short and reasonable driving distance. The dedicated car parking spaces in the enclosed locked basement provide total security for the golf clubs, surf boards and other sports equipment.

About Michael Carroll

We are a married couple, Michael is a lawyer (barrister) and Marie recently disposed of her own retail business. Our apartment will someday be our residence for some of the colder months at home and with this specifically in mind we purchased it - new - in 2007. We have three grown up children, Ronan is a harbour pilot, Eoin a sociologist who is director of a centre promoting social justice and Cian is a lawyer practising in Paris.

Why Michael Carroll chose Lagos

We wanted the apartment to be in a location that has its own community and history, with stunning scenery and plenty to do, that has a pleasant climate, that has within walking distance all the services and shops that are available to us at home and that is close to an airport a short flight away from our other home. At the same time we wanted the apartment to be totally private and in a quiet part of Lagos.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is less than an hour from the major international airport in the Algarve region, it is situated in a residential area and so avoids the excesses of tourism, yet it is a short walk from the main beach, the marina and the historic old town. It is a large home, totally private, a penthouse with internal staircase access to its own rooftop sun terrace that is almost as big as the apartment and is not overlooked. Our guests keep telling us that the photos don't do it justice. So we are perfectly happy to stay in the apartment, and we can walk to any of the local attractions and shops. Lagos is an ideal base for the Algarve generally, everything is within driving distance.

Many thanks for the use of your apartment. It ticked every box for us as a group of golfers. We enjoyed a relaxing week close to all the action of Lagos and the courses of Boavista and Palmares. Will be in touch when we next arrange to golf near Lagos


We just wanted to email our thanks for letting us rent your beautiful apartment for the past two weeks. It is by far the best apartment we have booked through the Owner's Direct website and is so well equipped. The sun terrace was a fantastic bonus as was the pool (though we didn't quite ever work out how to heat the jacuzzi!). We also loved the area, ... managed to enjoy some windsurfing despite the rather chilly Atlantic.

We and our two children hope to book again next August if it's possible.

Many thanks for the use of the apartment ....... had a terrific holiday and as before the quality of the apartment made it so relaxing and private. The week went so quickly, we'll have to consider staying longer or even off season in the future but we'll want to return sometime in the future.....

So we got here no problem , very excited would be a slight understatement !! Carlos was so helpful. We dropped bags and went and got a bite to eat..... I cannot believe the value for money, we had a delicious meal and plenty of wine for a lot less than you would get at home........

Exactly as described and convenient for a short New Year stay. I can imagine roof terrace is very pleasant in the warmer months. Indoor pool and leisure facilities good. Obviously a private apartment block and very quiet which suited is. Organisation from owner and his agent very efficient. All furniture/beds high quality etc. Lidl across the road also very useful.

Amazing apartment

You'll not find a better apartment for the price in Lagos. Plenty of room for 6 adults. Fantastic roof terrace for chilling. Fully equipped kitchen. Gym, sauna, swimming pool downstairs, supermarket across the road and only a couple of minutes walk to the marina and town. Who could want for any more? Don't delay, book today!!!

Lovely apartment, spacious and modern

We loved this apartment with its private rooftop terrace! It's quite large and spacious, and had 3 decent sized bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The underground parking space felt luxurious after fighting for parking spaces throughout our vacation. My 3 teenage children loved the amenities, though it would have been nicer had they stayed open later into the evening (they close at 8pm). The location was terrific - easy to walk into the old part of town and easy to drive to the highways. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone, and would definitely book again in the future.

Booking Notes:

Changeover Day:
Changeover dates are completely flexible and are agreed at the time of booking. Notes on accommodation: The apartment is new - finished January 2008. The apartment interior is 138 square metres (about 1500 square feet) and the furniture is of a very high luxury standard. the living area has two sections, one with quality dining room furniture and the other with leather upholstered lounge furniture, large screen TV. The three bedrooms are full double size and are completely separated from the living area. The apartment is fully air conditioned with a temperature controlled reversible system that provides cold air in hot weather and warm air in cold weather. The roof terrace covers over half of the apartment and is accessed from within the apartment via a spiral staircase. The roof terrace (sunshine all day) and the other east facing balconies (sun in the morning until 14.00 in the afternoon) cover a further 114 square metres - over 1200 square feet. Fully enclosed secure basement car park. 2 spaces reserved for the apartment. Complex has gym, sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room.
