Frigiliana, Nr. Nerja, Costa del Sol, Spain - In the Heart of a Historic Spanish Village

This is a much larger than average penthouse apartment set on 3 floors. It has a very large roof terrace and a large breakfast terrace with stunning views of the sea and mountains. It is fully equipped including British Freeview TV, free wi-fi and consists of a large lounge and dining room, kitchen and two large bedrooms. Situated in the heart of the old Moorish quarter of Frigiliana with local shops, tapas bars and other facilities within a few seconds walking distance. There is a new leisure centre, gym and olympic size pool (within 2 minutes of the apartment). The apartment also has it's own private pool. The area has lots of opportunities for outdoor activities including walking, mountain biking, sailing, golf and even skiing in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains plus 16km of beaches in nearby Nerja. The apartment is handily located for either Malaga (45 minutes transfer) or Granada (around 90 minutes) airports.

We are family of 5 (3 children age 23, 21 and 14). We visit Frigiliana as often as school and work holidays allow. We enjoy walking, eating, drinking and visiting the beach. We also like the occasional ski trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The property enjoys spectacular views and is much larger than an average two bedroom apartment. This has been great for us as it allows us to enjoy family time and to find private spaces for those moments when you just want an hour alone.

Village is beautiful we will definitely book again next year.

Kids loved it, the sandy beaches were great and they really enjoyed the village Olympic pool and snack bar!

Great place to stay

This villa is in an idea location at the quieter end of town. Plenty of room and the roof terrace is ideal for sunbathing and star watching. The villa is very well equipped and has everything you need. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance all reasonably price. We will definitely be back.

A relaxing week

This was a comfortable and well equipped apartment . It was in a quiet location and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the outside space on the roof terrace, great for alfresco dining and lazing on a sun bed. We would suggest that the outside furniture is in need of attention.

Excellent apartment

Having stayed in the new part of Frigiliana last year, we wanted to try somewhere closer to the old village. The location of this apartment was ideal for us. It’s close to several very good restaurants and bars and only a short stroll to the bus stop for Nerja. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The sun terrace is very spacious and enjoys spectacular views across the valley and down towards the coast. The area around the apartment is very quiet throughout the day and night, and we had a very relaxing time.

Home from Home

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 children for 2 weeks in August. We hadn't used owners direct before when booking our holidays and we were not disappointed. The apartment was clean, spacious and very homely. Prior to our travelling, contact with the owner was second to none and any questions we had were replied to quickly and efficiently. The apartment is in the heart of Frigliana and just a stroll from the bars, restaurants and Olympic pool (which our children loved). It's a small village so if you are expecting hustle and bustle of night life then this is not for you. If you want to try a taste of 'real' Spain, this village is a definite must. Stay in and have a quiet drink on the penthouse rooftop or have a few drinks in the bars and mix with the locals. We had a wonderful time here, so much so our children wanted to buy the apartment! If you have young children, washing machine and sunshine = happiness!! Would strongly recommend staying here - an enjoyable holiday and place to stay.

It is 5km to Nerja and takes around 10 minutes by car to reach the beaches. Alternatively there is a local bus/taxi service at very reasonable prices.


Malaga airport 55km around 45 minutes by car. Granada around 90 minutes by car. Car hire recommended to access the full potential of the surrounding Sierra Nevada National Park although door to door taxi service can be arranged (cost around 60-70 euro's) on request and there are local transport services. People, including my mum, have had lovely holidays without a car.


5km to Nerja, including the famous `Caves of Nerja' and sandy beaches. 55km to Malaga. Large water park in nearby town of Torre Del Mar approx 15km away. Frigiliana is situated close to the Sierra Nevada National Park (with walks etc starting just a walk away from the apartment). The Park offers a range of outdoor activities. 90 minute drive to Granada, location of the world famous Alhambra Palace.

Further Details:

Full range of local shops, restaurants, bars, banks, supermarkets, bakers available in the village. Air conditioned large shopping complex with large hypermarket around 20 minutes drive. Other facilities also available in Nerja.
