A Place with a view

We arrived out of hours and were warmly greeted by the owner on the road, he then carried out cases up to the apartment. The apartment was spotlessly clean with all the amenities you could possibly need, a breakfast was also provided for the first morning, which was a very thoughtful thing to do.

The views from the solarium were brilliant, from the back you could see the sea and salt lakes and the front view you could look down into the valley at Benimar, Benijofa and Rojales and spectacular mountain views. This location is so quiet and peaceful, and the apartment is really good value for money. There is a good bar and a communal pool just round the corner and 20 minute walk takes you into Quesada high Street,

Pamela and Andy are great hosts , very approachable and friendly I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and I know we will return in the very near future !

Relaxing week in Spanish sun

1st floor apartment (above the owners) with amazing views from the terrace overlooking the valley down to the town. The apartment itself was very clean and well maintained, the kitchen is quite basic (no sink/hob/washing machine) so you need to wash dishes and clothes in the bathroom, but we didn't mind....still enough basic equipment to knock up a light lunch or salad with a glass of wine! The ad stated that there were 2 private solariums but the owners used the roof terrace to hang out their washing each day so we were unable to use it, it also stated there was a hot tub but this was in their downstairs garden and although they did ask if we wanted to use it we felt a bit uncomfortable as it wasn't very private. Overall it was a lovely place and Andy and Pamela were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our week in Spain.

Property is good, owner not so much

Owner had a habit of unexpected visits, aircon not working so I slept naked on the bed, I awoke with owner standing over me, mumbling sorry to disturb me, then proceeded to have a shouting conversation with a neighbour who was helping to fix aircon, I got dressed and waited until they finished ( 15 minutes later ), still not fixed, there is a separate charge for aircon as owner said to me if it was in the rental price he would have to pay some money to home away , the one and only tap in the bathroom made washing up an adventure, plenty of notices to tell you about saving water, towels not allowed outside, lots of no smoking signs, a nice place but the renter is an inconvenience to the owner.

Owner's Response: We do not normally respond to reviews but this one requires that we do in order to maintain confidence in our past and future guests. We as owners require access to our rooftop solarium therefore there were no "Unexpected visits" by us. The fact that we pass a wide open door where a naked man is either lying on a bed or sitting on the settee watching TV was disturbing and disrespectful to the owner's wife. He knew we would be going upstairs and should have closed the door. Wherever you stay in future Mr. Tarr, please wear underpants when sitting on chairs or settees. The air-con was fully functional when he arrived. Mr. Tarr was informed on arrival (and on the HomeAway site) that air-con is charged separately to the owners, if required. He said it was not needed. On the sixth day of his stay he took it upon himself to steal the air-con whilst we were away by re-routing an extention cable to the unit and attempting to operate the A/C without the remote control. The result was that he rendered the unit inoperable with us paying the cost of an engineer to attend. There was no neighbour standing over him, it was myself and the engineer. We required access to carry out the repair and after knocking on the open door and making noises, with no response, we had no choice but to enter the apartment. "How many taps does he require on a sink"? There is a hot/cold tap as on many other sinks nowadays. There is also a shower if he wishes to wash. There is one notice regarding "Saving water". This is Spain Mr. Tarr and as you live in Spain you must be aware that water is precious. We do our best to help the environment. There are separate towels for outside use. We ask that towels for showering/washing remain inside out of respect for future guests. As advertised, we do not permit smoking inside the apartment, there are ashtrays available outside and no other guest has had a problem in 10 years. We don't think Mr. Tarr smokes so what is his issue? We would NOT welcome Mr. Tarr back and would definitely not recommend he stays with anyone else.
