The apartment consists of entrance hall and large lounge leading to a private balcony which overlooks the garden and has sea views. There is a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom. Part of the lounge can be used for extra sleeping accommodation. Great central location with panoramic views

The apartment is ideally situated so it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and a few minutes walk to the main restaurants and bars. It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, plenty of fresh bed linen, towels and beach towels, and the apartment is very clean, light and airy in a quiet complex on the 2nd floor. All the rooms are very large, it is a one bedroom but the lounge area has a screen which could divide it into two and Brian and Lesley had further pull down beds which could be used so could easily sleep 4 people +. There is plenty of hot water and the shower is lovely and powerful. The kitchen again was very well equipped even down to a cool bag and ice packs which we used to take a picnic down to the beach everyday. During our two week stay we only ever bumped into one other couple in the lift. As stated in other reviews it does overlook the local primary school but noise is minimal and was quite nice to sit out on the balcony having breakfast whilst listening the sounds of the happy children playing until the school bell rings. And yes it is close to the bins but again I think anywhere you stay in Alvor is and again noise was minimum and didnt interupt our holiday. We were aware that there was no wifi in the apartment but any of the local bars/restaurants you go in have free wifi so you can catch up on social media whilst having a drink. We went to the Cactos II bar which is only a few minutes walk from the apartment and sold large Super Boc for a euro and had sky sports on all day with free wifi. As for lack of tv! Who watches telly on holiday!! We certainly dont! Brian and Lesley were more than helpful, plenty of email communication and hassle free transactions. A lovely welcome pack on arrival including fruit, butter, milk, cheese etc and even a bottle of wine to help you unwind from travelling and provide a welcome start to your holiday. I could not fault this holiday and we will definately book this apartment again. Thank you Brian and Lesley x

Average apartment

Spacious and well stocked apartment. Very basic amenities inside and there is no TV available just a DVD player and a radio also there is no Wi-Fi which I thought for the money TV and Wi-Fi should have been available. Outside the apartment the location is very noisy it looks over schools playground and the local bin location of which they empty every 2 days in the middle of the night and they are not quiet! Lovely helpful kind couple though. Paid by bank transfer as requested but this also cost me £10 extra charge by my bank apparently some charge more so check.

Owner's Response: We were disappointed to hear that you found the amenities in our apartment basic & hope that the lack of TV & wifi did not spoil your holiday altogether. We did say that there was only a DVDs player with a selection of DVDs at present . We will be rectifying that & installing TV & wifi in the near future. I am sure that you will agree apart from that the apartment is adequately stocked with all the essential equipment . It has a fully fitted kitchen , plenty of bed linen & an ample supply of towels. As for the problem of the emptying of the replying bins during the night . Unfortunately we have no control over what time they are emptied. While we appreciate that this is an inappropriate time . We believe that this is common practice all over the Algarve particularly during the summer months. We feel that we offer a comfortable, spacious & well equipped apartment at reasonable prices.

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Alvor has a wonderful clean sandy beach approx 600m from apartment.

The east end of the beach has many coves and rock formations for which the Algarve is well known.

There is a wide waterfront promenade with restaurants and bars were you can watch the local fishermen bringing in their catch.

Travel:

Faro is approx 45 minutes drive.

Transport to and from airport can be arranged at competitive rates.

Car hire is not essential as all amenities are close to the apartment.

There is also a good bus and taxi service to nearby areas.

Distances:

Alvor is situated 5km from Portimao and 17km away from Lagos. The Algarve Shopping centre is approx 30 minutes drive away.

Further Details:

Alvor has a good variety of shops and restaurants.

Silves, Lagos, Monchique and Sagres are well worth a visit.

Also close by is Zoo Marine, Slide & Splash and Aqualand.

Boat trips up the river and sea trips are also popular
