Our luxurious apartment complex wonderfully situated right next to the cosmopolitan resort of Vilamoura within a 2 or 3 minute walk to the Marina Beach. Our apartment is a great choice for families, couples or golfers as we are located in a very peaceful neighborhood near several prestigious golf courses including the Millennium golf course.

The emphasis is on light, space and quality both inside and out, with a wonderfully appointed veranda which overlooks the main feature – a private pool and recreation area and the sea.

Golfers can enjoy the nearby greens and clubhouse facilities, while partners and families can relax at the complex or explore Vilamoura, which is a 5 minute level walk from our home or the Marina at 10 minutes walk. The restaurants and designer shops around the marina invite you to browse and the beach offers safe bathing. Nightlife is nearby, including the Vilamoura casino, if you fancy a little adventure!

On our other side.: Adjacent on our other side, the sleepy town of Quarteira awaits you with its fabulous Promenade (a must during the late evening), Beaches, Live Outdoor Music Concerts, Restaurants, and shopping.

A lot of people that come to the Vilamoura area miss out on the wonderful experience of Quarteira. Its beaches are stunning and there are hidden little boutique shops in the interior streets.

The seaside restaurants and bars are all very quaint but the best food is hidden away in the small streets away from the beach.

The promenade with is picturesque palm trees and shops is a Mecca for entertainers especially at night when large crowds gather so see performers and to sip a cool drink at one of the many spots.

During peak season on weekend nights there are outdoor live music concerts and dancing and carrying-on at the far end of the promenade to all hours of the night.

About Paul

My wife and I are Americans. Both borne in Europe came to the US as children. Over the decades that followed, we built a life here, we had a son and we wanted to make sure he knew where he came from. We returned to Portugal (my birth place) after 36 years of absence only to find it as lovely as ever. While vacationing in the Vilamoura area we decided to purchase a beach apartment to use while in Portugal. We love our place. My son calls it the yellow beach house. As Americans we are perhaps a bit spoiled so it follows that our place is decorated with the best furnishings we could find. Since PT is so far from NY we also have an amazing villa in Naples Florida just a short distance from the beach with huge double master suites and well. We like comfort. Cheers, Paul and Dagmar.

Why Paul chose Quarteira

I wish we could visit more often but we have a lovely home in NY and another wonderful vacation home in Florida so we come back as often as we can but I wish it was more often. I miss the food. We wanted to have a place in the area but we really don’t very much like a lot of Vilamoura, too many tourist traps, and not very much like the real Portugal. In fact Vilamoura was built specifically for tourism by a Spanish consortium. On the other hand Quarteira (where we have family) was a bit too quaint and lacked the luxuries we are used to having. We finally found our place on a small beach area called Quinta Do Romao. It is on the the Vilamoura Marina Beach and sandwiched between Quarteira and Vilamoura. We are just a few feet from the beach, but we are private and away from the crowds.

What makes this apartment unique

From our lovely apartment we can walk to anything important in the area. The Vilamoura Marina beach is just a few feet away, markets, groceries, bars, etc across the street, golf just a minutes away. But we are set back from the beach just enough to miss all the noise and commotion at night. We have two lovely pools in the complex and we do most of our swimming there. What is different about our place is that it is not an empty rental apartment. It is our personal home away from home. Everything is perfect and first class and we offer it to our guests that way. To us, a holiday should be all about enjoyment. Maybe we are spoiled but many of the things we think are necessities seem to be considered luxuries in Portugal. Just bring yourself your appetite and your sense of adventure.

Other amenities. Bedding: 2 sofabed(s) with additional Trundel pullouts plus, 1 King bed in Master suite, 2 single bed(s) in the guest room. Dishwasher, laundry machine, sheets and towels included, freezer, swimming pool belonging to the residence, also a children's pool, air-conditioning, Fireplace, garage parking. Lovely 'home from home' apartment

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week holiday in this lovely apartment.

The whole process from initial booking to departure worked so smoothly.

The owner provided prompt responses to all emails which was hugely appreciated and the extremely comprehensive information provided helped to ensure we made the most of our holiday.

The apartment was literally 'home from home' with everything you could possibly need (and more!) It was especially great not having to bring beach towels with us.

It was nice that as well as the apartment being so clean and tidy the upkeep of the communal areas was also taken care of to a high standard. The swimming pool was cleaned daily and I was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy a swim every morning and had the luxury of having the pool to myself each time!

It was lovely to meet with Sarah and to know that there was someone who was available should we have needed them.

I would happily recommend (and in fact have already done so!) this apartment to anyone and we hope to return there ourselves sometime.

quiet, comfortable and secure

We wanted a holiday in the sun for two weeks, to sit on a beautiful beach, explore the area and eat good food. This place delivered it all. A great base with everything the modern traveller would need, comfortable beds with tvs and dvd player in every room, a PC and WiFi, and a barbecue on the veranda . The owners recommendations were spot on, the wonderful beach was a 5 minute walk and the weather was brilliant after our usual bad summer

An amazing family home and hosts

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful apartment. True to every word from the owners. The place is clean, homey, comfortable and just lovely. It is a home, not your typical empty room with a bed and a table. All details have been looked after, including sun hats, sun chairs, beach bags, kitchen appliances, wifi, tv, restaurant recommendations, pool and anything you will need during your vacation. Great hosts, seamless transaction. Honestly, have nothing negative to say about this place. You will not regret staying here.

Lovely property, home away from home.

We really enjoyed our stay in the property and Paul/Sarah couldn't have been more helpful! We stayed with our 8 year old and 6 year old and had everything needed. Really helpful to have the beach towels and beach gear, one less thing to pack! Transfer to the apartment was easily done and took 25 mins. We will be back!

This was a nice, clean flat in pleasant apartment block. The location isn't beautiful but is a convenient base close to beach and with shops and restaurants close by. The shower was pretty terrible and the decor dated (would feel more spacious without big vases of artificial flowers and big display unit) but you are aware this is a private as well as rental apartment.

Owner's Response: As we have always advertised, this is our home, not an empty apartment, and it is fully decorated, and may requires that you move some of the more delicate decorations away from running children etc. It is not a could empty hotel room. We have wonderful vases, an many interesting and expensive decorations we have collected over the years. Actually this home because it is smaller and father away from us here in the USA, is much less formal and decorated than our two other homes. In our Naples Florida home for example, the coffee table alone being a designer piece cost over $5,000. I did get your email where you criticized the home for being so "overly like a home" and not a rental apartment. I am sorry you felt that way. We did state many times and we state in the advertisement here, that is is a fully decorated home and not a rental apartment. As for the location not being beautiful, Its a couple hundred yards from the sea, surrounded by wonderful shops and restaurants. exactly as advertised it is on the dividing line between Vilamoura and Quarteira. To us and to the many people who have staid with us over the years, its just as beautiful as the inside of the home. We do apologize for the one shower. As we explained something possibly some pipe build up must have broken off and is now reducing the water flow to one of the 2 showers. To fix it, we must rip out the wall tile, cut into the wall and repair the blocked pipe. Not something we could do during your holiday. We are on our way to Vilamoura Monday and we will have it fixed during our holiday. We charge an extremely low amount for our place, considering it has all the amenities that other places in the area don't have such as imported beds from the USA, high speed internet, luxury decor, large screen TVs, private parking, and so much more, even private beach lounges, and coolers etc. Starting 2008, you are the first traveler that didn't seem to appreciate our place. according to your review, its in a pleasant block, full of shops and restaurants, and within view of the beach, but the location isn't beautiful? And it is fully decorated, not an empty rental and that isn't beautiful either. Obviously we were not a good fit, and I am sorry for that. We do try very hard to make sure we describe the home in full detail, we even offer a personal web site full of not only pictures and maps but even video so you can see it before renting it. I am glad you had a good holiday. Cheers.

Apartment in the sun close to amenities.

Stayed in this apartment twice this year in July and September. As Paul the owner will tell you this is not just a holiday let it is a well furnished apartment close to shops, restaurants, and the Marina. Supermarkets within a few minutes walk as are a few local restaurants if you don't fancy a 15 minute walk to the Marina. As Paul will tell you they are cheaper and better in many cases. Quateria and Vilamoura beaches within a 10 minute walk. Fresh fish market and fruit and veg market minutes away for meals in the apartment and if you wish to use the barbecue on the balcony. Television with free movie channels any time you fancy a night in. A trip to the Marina brings you to many shops and a huge variety of restaurants, sports bars, and music bars.You also have Sarah who is local for any advice and will meet you at the apartment when you arrive. A great holiday, good value, and thoroughly recommended.
