Le four a pain (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2)

Le Four a Pain is a converted bread oven house which adjoins the Château. French doors open out onto its own terrace on the ground floor, with a small kitchen/living room. Up a steep wooden staircase lies the large double bedroom and bathroom. There is also a shower/WC on the ground floor.

1 living/kitchen. 1 shower room/WC. 1 bedroom with double bed. 1 bathroom.

One other similar sized apartment is available for rental: "La Lucarne". Please check owners' website (see below).

About the property


The Château provides an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday with its south-facing pool overlooking a secluded valley. It has been divided into 5 separate self-contained apartments, each with its own outside eating area and designed for independent living. The apartments can be rented individually or in any combination for groups. The main apartment has a spacious reception and dining area that is ideal for large parties. The tranquil valley of Bussas offers a perfect retreat. It is in the heart of the Cévennes, an area of unspoilt beauty and outstanding wild life. Walkers and mountain bikers can enjoy the trails through the hills and the majestic scenery stretching towards the Mediterranean to the south and the Massif Central to the north. The resident caretaker and his wife look after the property and guests. They have an organic garden providing fresh vegetables. They can also offer baby-sitting and extra cleaning by arrangement.

The final payment together with the refundable breakages/cleaning deposit is due 8 weeks before the letting.

Changeover Day:
Bookings are from Saturday 17.00 to Saturday 10.30 This can be flexible for last minute bookings.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property(s) per week in UK pounds. 4% reduction for bookings of individual apartments made before the end of February 2013. 6% reduction on booking of whole Château before end of January 2013.

French Perfection

We were looking for somewhere tranquil ‘away from it all’. We weren’t disappointed.

We had one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays it is possible to imagine.

The chateau is secluded and very private. It sits in a private valley surrounded by forested hills. It is a fabulous drive up into the mountains from St Jean Du Gard - a lovely French town with all the facilities you need.

We stayed in the ‘bread oven’ which is perfect for two. It is well equipped and very comfortable. The pool and terrace are superb and we were blessed with fabulous weather. The owners were holidaying in the main chateau and are the most wonderful hosts. There is even a games room if the weather was slightly inclement.

It is an easy drive to Nimes, Pont Du Gard or Avignon all of which make for great day trips.

If you’re looking for something very special then Chateau Bussas is just the ticket!

Local catering firms can supply meals by arrangement. Outside: South facing swimming pool (11x4 metres), solar heated for early and late seasons. Trout stream for fishing and swimming.
