The Château provides an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday with its south-facing pool overlooking a secluded valley. It has been divided into 5 separate self-contained apartments, each with its own outside eating area and designed for independent living. The apartments can be rented individually or in any combination for groups. The main apartment has a spacious reception and dining area that is ideal for large parties. The tranquil valley of Bussas offers a perfect retreat. It is in the heart of the Cévennes, an area of unspoilt beauty and outstanding wild life. Walkers and mountain bikers can enjoy the trails through the hills and the majestic scenery stretching towards the Mediterranean to the south and the Massif Central to the north. The resident caretaker and his wife look after the property and guests. They have an organic garden providing fresh vegetables. They can also offer baby-sitting and extra cleaning by arrangement.

A very large living room with an open fireplace and an arch leading through to a spacious dining area. French windows to the east and south lead on to a balcony for outside meals.
The main bedroom has an adjoining bathroom and two further bedrooms and a bathroom are accessed from the living room. There is central heating and a wood-burning stove.

A very special spot
We had a really wonderful week at Bussas, staying in Le Grand Balcon. The Cevennes are magical and Bussas is in a beautiful spot where you can enjoy the nature and tranquility of the area. The chateau is very comfortable and has great character and the caretakers are lovely people. The walks are stunning, our kids loved the freedom and exploring the grounds, and we all enjoyed the rivers and mountains. We hope to return one day - thanks Meg and family!

Nearest boulangerie, bar and restaurant in l'Estrechure (7 mins).
Main shops, supermarket, doctors, banks, dentists in St Jean du Gard (10 mins). The local market is on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
A wide range of restaurants to suit all budgets is available within the area.

Prices are for the property(s) per week in UK pounds. 4% reduction for bookings of individual apartments made before the end of February 2013. 6% reduction on booking of whole Château before end of January 2013.

- Notes on accommodation: There is a shared laundry room (washing machine and dryer), telephone and WIFI. The Château is centrally heated. Wood is supplied for the large open fireplace. Local catering firms can supply meals by arrangement. Outside: South facing swimming pool (11x4 metres), solar heated for early and late seasons. Trout stream for fishing and swimming. Separate games room with table tennis and bar-football. Children's climbing frame. Extensive terraces for outside eating and relaxing. Shared pool-side barbecue with charcoal grill.
