Guestbook comments from the owner

"It is a truly gorgeous property with jaw dropping scenery surrounding it. It is very hard to describe to people, on your return, how wonderful it is…….there are not enough superlatives."

"We had a really wonderful time at Bussas – everything was organised perfectly and Liliane and Bernard could not have been more helpful. Bussas is the most wonderful place for a party – like a theatre set – everyone can find their own space if they want to but then gather together from time to time."

"We all absolutely loved our stay at Bussas and agreed it was one of the happiest holidays we have had. We very much appreciated the care and trouble you have taken to make the house a comfortable home with all the attractive furniture and carpets and really luxurious bathrooms and the little touches like the welcome tray of goodies by the cooker."

Un chateau pour vivre ensemble en harmonie

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

This property has been carefully designed so that all the apartments have privacy and all the things you need for a holiday with or without children. We were a very mixed age group celebrating a 70th birthday and there was so much to do that we barely left the chateau except for walks and shopping. It is painfully beautiful and we never tired of walking to L'Estrachure for coffee and pastries or 'canyoning in the lovely gorge or looking at the sunset or sitting round a table together for a meal. There is really nothing that could have made this a better holiday it was a taste of heaven for 2 weeks.

Excellent location for a big group

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent week at Le Bussas. The location is quite magical- surrounded by views of wooded hillsides and wonderfully secluded. We were a mixed group of 5 couples, 3 of which had young children ranging from age 1 to age 6. It worked perfectly to have the privacy and flexibility of the different appartments while all being able to enjoy meals and the pool together. We'd been a bit concerned about the little ones on the stone steps but they loved being able to roam around and the pool is securely fenced off. The children also loved being able to feed the chickens and ducks thanks to the very friendly guardians, Liliane and Bernard. There was something on offer for everyone - from early morning hill running for the more energetic in the party to blissful relaxation around the pool for those more inclined to reading. We were also very impressed by the Auberge in L'Estrechure who were happy to deliver a delicious 3 course dinner to us for €19 a head- made the first evening after a long drive down much more civilised! Many thanks to Meg for being so efficient in answering questions we had ahead of the visit. Top marks all round. Worth being aware that it can get very hot during the middle of the day in the height of summer- so if you do have little ones who might not be so good at hikes up in the Cevennes, do bring some indoor activities to keep them going while you indulge in a siesta!

Chateau d'amazing

  • 5 of 5

We holidayed as a group of 18. 5 different families and this place worked perfectly for us! The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked on a number of evenings but we also found a couple of good local restaurants. The terrace is well set up for outdoor eating and the pool can be viewed from here making it safe for the kids to swim. We had great weather most of the time which helped immensely. Beds comfy and all the rooms were very spacious.
