Far from the Madding Crowds

We have just returned from a week’s stay at this property, Tracie, the owner, gave us all the information we needed regarding the villa, directions etc. It is a secluded setting with no close neighbours and wonderful views of the hills, we had beautiful weather with clear skies, the villa had everything we needed . We ate and drank every day at the outside table by the wonderful pool, which was checked daily along with the hot tub (which was a joy at the end of the day). Difficult as it was, we dragged ourselves away from the pool and went into the local town Montefrio, every day, this is a beautiful town with several bars and cafes, all are great value with a wonderful tradition of giving a free plate of tapas with every round of drinks. We can thoroughly recommend this villa for getting away from it all and seeing the real Spain, whilst still having a WiFi for the teenagers.

"Superb location : eccentric accommodatio

Superb location : eccentric accommodation : fabulous pool : great fun !" A truly 'out of the way' holiday home, not ideal to find at night (although we managed !) but wonderfully quiet and remote : a million miles from the awful image of 'holiday Spain' ! Eccentric accommodation : think 'Dali meets Port Meirion' and you get the picture. Well laid out although doors for the wc and bathrooms would be better than curtains ! There was plenty of room for the six of us, plus a visitor room, and the pool was absolutely perfect, well maintained and clean and with spectacular views. We ate outdoors under the canopy every day and watched the stars in the totally unpolluted night sky. We travelled to Cordoba and Granada very easily and the local town is great for drinks and meals at prices considerably below those of the tourist cities and is also worth exploring. A great holiday !!!

Agréable

Logement agréable avec piscine et bain chauffant situé en campagne, sans voisinage à proximité. Propriétaires gentils et réactifs. Seul bemol : Check out sur site à 10h30, mais nous ont demandé de partir à 10h car ils avaient d’autres locataires qui arrivaient…

Experi3nce incroyable. Calme et sérénité

Nous somme partis à neuf durant 11 jours. Tracie et Jason sont à l écoute et bienveillants. Pas de mauvaise surprise. Les photos et la description correspondent à la réalité. Certes la maison est isolé. Mais c est son point fort. Qu ils sont beau les réveilles chaque matin avec la levée du soleil avec cette vue dégagée et ce calme qui s y dégage. Montefrio est à moins de 5 minutes en voiture. C est une jolie ville. On y retrouve ce que l on a besoin au niveau achats alimentaires, mais aussi c est une ville qui a des attraits touristiques ( Castle of Montefrio, son point de vue panoramique, ses animations , fêtes et célébrations toutes la semaine du 15 août , une ville où on peut manger et boire un verre le soir avec les nombreux locaux. Mais aussi une ville où il fait bon d'aller boire son café ou son rafraîchissement le matin. Après, oui il faut un certain courage ( rien avant 1h) pour aller découvrir et voir plus grand. Mais ça nous a pas empêcher de voir Alicante, Murcie, Grenade, Guadix, Malaga, Marbella, Puerto Banüs, Benahavis, Mijas, Benamadenia et Fuengirola en 11 jours. Et encore j oublie les villes locales avec leurs marchés. Le reste c est sieste et bronzage à la superbe piscine de la maison. SPLENDIDE ❤❤❤. Merci encore et à très vite.....👌😉😘

Our family are originally from west London but moved to Montefrio in 2003 for a lifestyle change. Our children went to the local school and we built and now run our yoga retreat in the mountains, close to Montefrio called the..... Hacienda Retreat .
We fell in love with Montefrio because of it´s friendly locals and incredible countryside - although, in all honesty - it was the weather that sealed the deal - on average 300 days a year of sunshine !

Why they chose this property

The house is set in a beautiful part of Granada - the picturesque village Montefrio. It is surrounded by hills with amazing sunsets and a hot dry heat that cools in the evenings due to the location being 3000 feet above sea level. It is easy to access and only 10 minutes drive from Montefrio -although, the house itself it feels like you are totally removed from civilisation and you can make as much noise as you like. It is safe for children - no traffic or pollution. Designed and built by the owners - Orozca has a personal feel and quirky moorish/new mexican style - we hope you enjoy !

- our retro wooden hut tub ( heated via a wood burning stove) provides the ultimate melt down in the summer evenings after a day of sun and swimming - there is also a poolside chill-out area with a bespoke 3m long couch and cushions for lazing on after dinner.
