A superb, spacious, attractive, detached villa situated above L'Escala, with stunning views. Private walled garden with a large chlorine free salt water pool (8mx5m). The villa is located just a few minutes (1.5km) from the safe sandy beaches of Montgo and Riells, with shops and restaurants nearby. There is FREE WIFI, air conditioning in upper rooms. The house has recently (2016) been totally a brand new fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and breakfast bar, a very spacious air conditioned master suite, with ensuite, new bathrooms, and spacious sitting rooms with lovely views opening onto the balcony. A Brick Built BBQ in garden. Garden seating, table and sunbeds for 6 people. Central heating for warm winter holidays. Utility room with washing machine. Located on quiet cul de sac with little or no passing traffic.

About Henry Price

Our family been coming to L'Escala for over 30 years - we love the small beautiful bays, snorkelling, sailing, diving, culture and the great food !

We have enjoyed what the resort has to offer as both a child free couple and as a family with small children so can give plenty of advice if needed.

Having visited most places on the Costa Brava - there are plenty of things to do and see including Barcelona and Girona.

When we decided to relocate within L'Escala, we knew exactly where we could achieve peace and quiet (even in high season) yet be close to restaurants, beaches and shops. The villa is a wonderful place to relax and recuperate and enjoy the lovely beaches and restaurants.

Why Henry Price chose L'Escala

Having enjoyed every summer here for years we still enjoy the european flavour of this resort. There are few, if any, British tour operators here and so there is still a very Spanish/Catalan feel. There are several wide sandy beaches which are ideal for sunbathing and families with small children. There is also sailing and windsurfing nearby as well as a PADI dive centre. There are plenty of opportunities for snorkelling or you can hire a speed boat to visit Cadaque in style! Golf courses, historical buildings, art galleries, museums ... the list goes on.

Restaurants range from traditional tapas to high end dining at El Moli or El Roser 2. Restaurants are happy to cook you a Paella and nearby butchers and grocers provide plenty of variety for BBQs by the pool whilst enjoying the sunsets.

What makes this villa unique

The villa is situated in a quiet road on the top of Puig Sec which is a small hill overlooking the sea and the mountains. It is very quiet even in high season. The villa has a sizeable garden with a remote control drive way gate giving you peace of mind with children.

Two popular beaches are within 10 minutes (1500m) walking distance and supermarkets are located on the way back from the beach. WIFI and Bed Linen and Towels are available by separate agreement with the agent.

Use of Speed Boat may be available by separate agreement with owner.

The pool is for your sole use and there is plenty of space for 6 people to relax in either sun or shade. The views are lovely and we are always available to help you have the best holiday you can.

Notes on accommodation: Air conditioning in upper rooms. large gardens which are both sunny and shady all day. Fantastic views for miles around. Please note that the pool does not have a lockable barrier and therefore care should be taken if holidaying with young children. We have very helpful English speaking people living nearby who deal with any pool or maintenance requirements. Outside: There is a pool, 8m by 5m situated within a mature, private garden, with a BBQ. The garden is fully maintained all year. There is a good size grass area for games. Garden chairs, tables and sun loungers are provided in the garden. Utility Room: Ground floor utility room, with washing machine, sink, boiler. Clothes airer, ironing board and iron. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Your villa is cleaned before your arrival. Bedding and towels are available to hire at 17 Euros per person per week . Please ask for further details. The pool is maintained 2 to 3 times per week in high season. Other: Covered terrace to garden.

Lovely villa with a great pool & fabulous views

Villa Rodina in L'Escala is a lovely house with a great pool . The views from the large balcony at the rear of the house are fabulous. The house has recently been re-furbished to a high standard & was very clean. The pool is well-maintained & a good size. The garden is secure, with electronic gates to the front. Beds were clean & comfortable. Air-con was very efficient, but there isn't any in the downstairs bedroom. This didn't affect us as there were only 3 in our party. All the appliances are good quality & the kitchen is well-stocked with cutlery, crockery etc.

On the downside, there is only room for 3 stools at the breakfast bar in the kitchen & if you want to eat inside the villa the only place is upstairs in the sitting room where there is a glass-topped table but no indoor chairs (plenty of patio furniture though). Again, this wasn't a problem as the weather was glorious the whole time & we ate outside. There is lovely comfortable seating upstairs but for 3 people only.

Tip; if you are driving to L'Escala, take your bedlinen & towels to avoid the 18 euro charge per person for 1 towel, 1 handtowel, 1 sheet & 1 pillowcase. Beach towels for the pool are extra & there are no tea-towels etc in the villa. This is charged by the Agency, not the owner, & it is a weekly charge. We thought this was very expensive.

I would recommend this villa - we all had a great time.

Fabulous villa of a high standard

The villa is situated on the quiet outskirts of L'Escala. Due to its elevated position, there are fabulous views of the surrounding area. There was easy access to a number of local beautiful beaches. L'Escala was a short distance by bicycle or car and had numerous restaurants. We particularly liked the old town. The villa itself was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. The equipment in the kitchen was plentiful and made cooking easy. The outside area was pleasant with a fabulous pool and a comfortable seating and eating area.

We have already booked for a few weeks time and plan to go back next summer. My children 9 and 12 loved it!

Gorgeous Villa, Delightful Location

A beautifully modern villa in a quiet, relaxing location. Just a short walk or bike ride away from a bustling resort with gorgeous white beaches, a huge variety of restaurants, and a selection of shops to suit any need. Spectacular views also! Would definitely recommend!

Beautifully villa in quiet location

We stayed as a family of five in this beautiful villa for the first two weeks in August 2016 and enjoyed our stay. The villa has been refurbished in 2016 to a very high standard, and is very spacious with almost everything you could possibly need. The nearby beach at Montgro is a 10-15 minute walk, also close by are walking trails through the national park and along the coastal pathways. There are supermarkets/bars/restaurants along the road to Montgro and in the opposite direction toward the busier area of L’escala more bars/shops/restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes. Externally the villa has table/sofa/chairs for al fresco dining, a BBQ and a pool so wonderful you won’t want to leave. The upper floor terrace has amazing views toward L’escala/the mountains and is a lovely place to sit and watch the rather spectacular sun sets (with of course, a glass of local wine!).

The reasons for not awarding 5 stars, is that the internal living arrangements had drastically changed between us booking and staying in the villa; the living room area now only has one couch and did not accommodate us as a family of five when the evenings were wet/windy and there was not an internal comfortable dining table/chairs - the kitchen breakfast bar only seats three people. It should also be noted that the overview states that linen and towels are included in the price, however these are only available at an extra cost through the letting agent (it does confirm this on the facilities tab).

That said, the pictures on the website have now been updated, and if it meets your requirements, then the villa is a gem, great location, spacious and decorated to a very high standard. Both the owner and the agent were helpful with any queries that we had both prior to and during our stay.

Gorgeous modern Villa - Peacefulness and calm

We settled in immediately - like a home from home, and after two weeks simply didn't want to leave ! The agents were so helpful. The area is wonderful to explore and so much to do ... fantastic selection of restaurants .... then escape back to the privacy calm and seclusion of our own villa and pool (oh and a glass of two of Cava on the terrace with a BBQ !!)

Wonderfully relaxing time.

We stayed for 10 days in September and from the very start, when we met the local agent to get the keys, service was exemplary.

The villa is in a lovely quiet location with fantastic views over the Bay of Rosas and the mountains. Everything for an enjoyable stay is provided. We really felt very much 'at home' there, especially with the benefit of the pool.

The local area is very attractive, in particular Montgo beach and the Old Town.

We would have no hesitation in going back and would highly recommend this property.

The beautiful, sandy cove at Montgo is just a 2 minute drive away, ideal for snorkelling and diving. In in the opposite direction the larger beach of Riells, both with gentle sloping sands, ideal for children, and manned by lifeguards and first aid posts during the main season. A little further and L'Escala offers 3 beaches, and then Ampurias with several outstanding beaches.


The nearest airport is Girona, served by a number of competitive airlines. Perpignan is 1 hour away and Barcelona is 1.5 hours away served by many airlines. Car hire is recommended to visit the many interesting, beautiful places further afield.


Sant Marti is 3 km which is well worth a visit for the ambiance, and excellent restaurants. The ruines of Empuries are just on the edge of L'Escala. Figueres with Dali Museum, and Castell Ferran is 22 km away. Girona is 35 km with the old Jewish area and Cathedral is well worth a visit.

L'Escala is well supplied with restaurants to suit all tastes and prices. Banks and supermarkets are very nearby.

There is a multitude of activities to suit all tastes and styles, diving, snorkelling, banana rides, glass bottom boat excursions, markets, museums.

A water ski boat may be available for hire by separate arrangement.

Opening times, during the holiday season, are from 9 a.m to 1.15 p.m and from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. from

Changeover Day:
Saturday to Saturday. This is flexible out of season. Arrive after 4.00pm, vacate before 10.00am.
