This luxury 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment in the beautiful quaint fishing village of Burgau. Private roof terrace and west facing balconies. The apartment is of high quality with all amenities and includes Wifi and TV system. Beautifully furnished and enjoys the use of the private pool complex and restaurant area. The village centre is juts a couple of mins walk away; it offers a great selection of shops and fresh produce and literally minutes walk to an amazing award winning sandy beach. Within strolling distance of the apartment delightful restaurants and bars including one of on the beach itself. More than two dozen golf courses are within an hour’s drive, the nearest being the Boa Vista course only 10 minutes to the east and Parque da Floresta just 10 mins to the west. Tennis and horse riding are also available nearby. Surf school in the village and fantastic surf beaches nearby. Boat trips to see the Dolphins goes directly from the beach although you may be lucky and see them from the beach of Burgau itself!

Private roof terrace and balcony from lounge and all bedrooms. Large pool in complex with great restaurant * No pets/ No smoking. Outside: Swimming pool and restaurant in complex. The apartment's balcony has a table and chairs plus built in BBQ. Our private roof terrace is large and offers panoramic views of the sea and the village. Sun loungers, table and chairs are provided. Also have 2 bikes and lots of buckets, spades etc Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly linen and towel change. Plus full weekly cleaning service. All towels supplied (except beach towels). Other: Balcony leading from the lounge and each bedroom equipped with built in BBQ and table and chairs. Very large private roof terrace with sun loungers and outdoor dining with umbrella.

Super apartment in great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our three weeks at Burgau. It was our first visit there. The apartment was ideal and had everything we needed and in a goid location just a short walk delightful village of Burgau with good restaurant options. The small supermarket had good choices. Lovely cliff walks either to Lux or Salema for more options. Would stay there again.

The apartment was just what we were looking for. Well appointed for the beach and village. Beautifully clean and with everything we needed for our holiday. Ana the apartment manager was extremely helpful even though we arrived later than anticipated. Thanks for a fabulous week!!

Great apartment in the perfect location.

This was our second time to use Owners Direct, and we were not disappointed. The apartment, the location, the village, everything was better than described!

The apartment was spacious, clean and fully equipped. Ana, the apartment manager was helpful and friendly. We felt totally relaxed within minutes of arriving. The apartment is located just off a quiet street, and is within 3 minutes walking distance from shops and restaurants, and 5 minutes walking distance from the beach.

Burgau is a small fishing village, so don't expect a big supermarket or shopping centre - it has a couple of small mini-markets, a bakery outlet, and a couple or three gift shops. Enough to keep you fed and watered, as long as you're prepared to stock up with a visit to Luz or Lagos.

What it does have in abundance, is great restaurants. Seafood, steaks, tapas and pizzas; whatever you need is here. A Barraca, down on the waterfront, stands out. Family run, friendly, and not expensive, we ate here 3 times. No 9 Tasca is a tapas restaurant, and the food was excellent.

We would have no hesitation recommending this property to anyone. In fact, we hope to go back there next year.

Home from Home

This was our second time in Burgau at the Domus Iberica apartments. Previously we stayed in a downstairs apartment, this time in an upstairs one with amazing views from the large roof terrace. The apartment is spacious and very well equipped, everything you need is there, so it is just like home from home. Ana, the property manager looked after us really well, again, and does a fantastic job of maintaining the apartment to a very high standard. The location is perfect, just a five minute stroll to the centre of the village and another five minutes to the beach. It's an easy drive over to the Atlantic coast and there are several pretty sandy, surfing beaches in between.

Thank you Andrea. We had a wonderful break.

Wonderful apartment in convenient setting

We have stayed in Burgau a number of times and in a different but similar apartment nearby. This was our first time at this particular apartment and we chose it carefully for the quality of the furnishings and proximity to the rest of the village. Everything more than met our expectations and we would not hesitate returning.

Lovely apartment, great location

Great apartment with everything you need. Very well equipped with TV, DVD, and English television. WI-FI a great bonus.

Apartment very clean on both our visits, work plenty of space for a family of four.

Great balcony with the sun from midday, or roof top terrace.

Pool lovely, with great food from Tomik.

Special interest holidays:

Located next to the natural park, there are many beautiful cliff top walks. Surfing is very popular in this part of the Algarve with excellent beaches provided. There is a surf school in the vIllage and many offering courses in this area.

There is also Pilates available in the village and a sports centre nearby for tennis, squash etc


Burgau Beach is a beautiful sheltered sandy beach and is within 5 minutes walking distance from the apartment. Just a short drive away further west there are many unspoilt and unpopulated beaches - Zavial, Ingrina. To the east is Praia de Luz and Lagos which are popular.


Faro airport is within one hour's drive to the village. The A22 motorway makes the journey easy. Car hire is recommended although the bus and taxi services are very good and reasonable. Car hire companies at good rates can be provided.


Lagos - 10 minutes drive/Cape Saint Vincent - 30 minutes drive/Alvor 30 Minutes drive/Albufeira - 35/40 minutes drive.

Further Details:

The coast of the Algarve generally runs east-west and is sculpted into bays and coves. This shelters the beaches in this area from the seas and the breezes of the Atlantic. But less than 20 miles drive to the west is Cape St.Vincent, the “End of the World” headland, and beyond that - where the coast turns abruptly north-south and the winds and seas become more bracing - you’ll find the surfers’ beaches with their fabulous sand and spiky sea-honed rocks. The rugged terrain that faces the Atlantic Ocean is dramatic. Back from the coast lie the Monchique mountains with their spas, their wine and their huge panoramic views. The Foia peak, at over 800 metres, is the highest point in the Algarve. A trip to these places is highly recommended. Activities: for sun-lovers, the beaches along this part of the coast will prove irresistible, with their gorgeous sand and their blue-green water. For nature-lovers, a dolphin watching trip on a fast rigid-inflatable boat from Lagos marina is a must (a trip early in the day is often best, when the waters are at their calmest). Further to the east, from the banks of the river in Portimao, a small Viking-style boat will take you up the river to the ancient town of Silves, with its fort and churches. The marshland you pass on the way is home to many of the local storks; they will often spiral up into the sky in great swirling squadrons as the boat passes. Horse riding is available less than 10 minutes’ drive away. Burgau itself has a multi-sport complex with tennis, squash and a number of other activities being available. Good selection of local restaurants and bars. Large supermarkets at Luz and Lagos. Very popular for water sports, surfing, scuba diving, fishing, Golf and walking holidays.
