We had a lovely family holiday in the gite. It was very clean and had everything we needed - including a cot, high chair and stair gate. The enclosed garden was fantastic for small children and the pool was wonderful. It was a short drive to several good beaches. Jo and Jim were really friendly and made time to chat to both us and our children. Our 3 year old loved collecting eggs from the chickens! They had lots of great ideas for days out. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
We stayed in the cottage, which was well appointed, clean and comfortable - including wifi and dishwasher. Although there was no air-con the cottage was lovely and cool despite high temperatures. Jo and Jim were excellent hosts - available for help if and when required but not in your face (happy to have a beer and a chat if you want!). Supermarkets within 10 min drive, and only a half hour or so drive to all the main attractions in the area (Dinan, Dinard, St Malo, Mont St Michel etc).
The "back" garden with open air pool is hared with renters of the gite but this didn't cause any issues during our stay. The cottage has its own garden area to the front and owners are also happy for you to use their shaded pergola area.
Dog friendly (owners have their own dog and local farm's dog also makes regular guest appearances, so beware if you are anxious around dogs) and ours had a great time - can particularly recommend St Colomb beach about 20 mins away as a dog friendly beach.
Would not hesitate to recommend to others
We had a very relaxed week in the Gite which had all the ameneties we required. A perfect location to visit St Malo, Dinard, Dinan and lots of smaller, yet worthwhile places. Joanne and Jim were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and their knowledge of the local area very helpful. Shopping was easy with two supermarkets close by and the cooking facilities in the Gite made it easy to cook whatever we wanted.
We recently stayed for a week in the gîte at Les Fougeres, and were incredibly impressed with both the gîte itself and the warm hospitality of the owners, who were a mine of information about the area. The gîte was spotless, well-furnished and had everything you could possibly need. We particularly enjoyed eating at Le Gentry Home on the recommendation of Jim and Joanne - a definite must if you like really good food!
We have stayed at the property 6 years ago, & were delighted by the new arrival of a dishwasher. The cottage provides an ideal base to relax, in pretty grounds, the BBQ was well used by us, as was the pool. It's not too far from anywhere, & lovely & quiet. The owners are friendly, there but not intrusive, & the decor is so pretty & well maintained. A lovely place that we will re-visit.
Jo & Jim are the ideal hosts, making you feel welcome and "at home" immediately. They advised us where to shop, what to see and do during our stay. They have thought of every comfort and requirement for the gite, and we would definitely return for a future visit.
