3 Bedroom Cottage with stunning Sea Views, Tranquil Location near Tintagel

In a quiet location between Tintagel and Boscastle on the beautiful North Cornwall coast, 5 minutes walk from the coastal path. The cottage is in the tiny hamlet of Halgabron and is surrounded by fields and looks down to the famous Rocky Valley. To make best use of the stunning sea views the living accommodation is upstairs and the bedrooms downstairs. Formally 1 half of a hay barn it now sits within its own small garden within the grounds of the former farm. There is use of the lovely communal grounds which include a BBQ area, fenced ponds and large lawned area. The area is abundant with places of interest. Tintagel Castle, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, Boscastle and St Nectans Glen Waterfall, to name but a few. It is also conveniently located for visiting Rock, Bude, Port Isaac and Padstow. Trebarwith Strand Beach is a 5 - 10 mins drive. Golf, surfing, horse riding, sea fishing, pubs and restaurants are all available nearby. Refurbished to a high standard.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at Threshings Cottage. It is an absolute gem, tucked away in a very peaceful spot. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated. The views are amazing - photos really didn't do it justice! Having the paddock opposite is a real bonus for dogs and children. Some lovely walks though woodland to St Nectan's Glen or Rocky Valley and Bossinney Cove is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.



We had a fabulous time and would certainly love to return, or perhaps move in?!

What a truly wonderful place to stay!!

This beautiful house offers home from home comfort with the most beautiful view of the sea and surrounding countryside. As soon as we walked through the door we relaxed; it just has that feel about it. There was not one single thing we needed that wasn't available during our stay and everything provided was in excellent working order and good quality. The layout of this lovely house is perfect with the living area upstairs, because even when cooking or getting a drink from the fridge, the beautiful view is there to see and there's a perfectly placed sofa in front of the main window to sit and enjoy the gorgeous view. The walking opportunities from the house itself are many and with absolutely stunning views. The Rocky Valley and St. Nectan's Glen are literally just a short walk away and both are amazing experiences with no need for the car. Christine Gregson who owns the house was a delightful lady to deal with and was very generous with her time when I had a few questions to ask before booking. She made the booking process feel smooth and comfortable from the beginning all the way through to our return home and had even left a complimentary bottle of wine to welcome us to her home and our holiday. Thanks Christine and without a doubt, we will be back.

Beautiful, characterful cottage

The cottage was beautiful. Well furnished, cleverly arranged to fit in everything we needed and stunning views and surroundings. It really felt homely and the kids and the dogs all shared our opinion that it was a wonderful holiday we'll never forget.

Ideal base and property for a holiday in North Cornwall

A very good holiday property with a decent sized upstairs sitting room with lovely views. The bedrooms are fine and all that is needed for a holiday let. Good outdoor paly areas for children and a very safe environment generally. Washing machine was very helpful and we would take far less clothing with us if we were to go again. Very nice welcome brochure and the wine on arrival was a very nice touch. Would recommend the property to others. It was clean and not having to thoroughly clean on departure was very helpful. Lanhydrock House near Newquay is an excellent day out especially if damp. Huge house and grounds and a good break from the beach.

Great Property

This is the 6th time we have stayed at Threshings and we have not yet had a disappointing visit. The property is clean, well equipped and ideally situated to visit the many attractions Cornwall has to offer. Added bonus there is plenty of parking. I would strongly recommend Threshings to anyone wanting a great Cornish stay.

Comfortable homely well equipped cottage

Amazing sea and open country views from the property, cottage very clean and well equipped , quiet and rural , close to Tintagel its shops and restaurants . It is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, owners left information about the area making it easy to make plans for the holiday . Perfect for a family of 5 plus 1 very happy dog !

We bought Threshings cottage in 2005 and take great pride in making the cottage as stylish and homely as possible. It is the best of both worlds as offers an escape from the hustle bustle and allows you to enjoy the stunning sea views, chill by the pond or run off steam on the field garden. It is only a 5 minute drive from a large selection of eateries, pubs and sea in nearby Tintagel and Boscastle. Nothing pleases us more to hear someone else has had a great holiday there!

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 27 Miles Nearest Barpub : at 1 Miles Nearest Golf : Bowood Park at 6 Miles Nearest Train : Bodmin Parkway at 20 Miles Nearest Motorway : A39 at 2.5 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Tintagel at 1 Miles Nearest Beach : Bossiney Cove at 1 Miles Car: necessary

Beaches: Trebarwith Strand is 5/10 minutes drive away (dog friendly).

Crackington Haven, Widmouth Bay, Polzeath and Bude are within 20 minutes drive. Great for surfing!

Daymer Bay is 20 mins and is perfect for wind surfing, kite boarding. Rock is 25 mins and is a great base for sailing. Sea fishing in Boscastle and coast-stearing and sea kayaking 15 mins.

Coastal path is 5 minutes walk to the Rocky Valley.

St Nectars Glen waterfall is a 15 min walk through woodland.

Tintagel Castle and the Oldest Post Office in England are a 10 min drive. There are loads of rainy day activities nearby (for adults and kids) plus horseriding, golf and the longest zipwire in the UK.

Newquay airport is around 40 minutes away.

Distances:

Tintagel is 1 1/4 miles away.

Boscastle is 2 miles away.

Shopping:

There are a number of shops in Tintagel (1¼ miles) which include a Londis and Spar which are open long hours and stock the essentials. For larger shopping trips there is a Tescos at Wadebridge and Padstow, Morrisons at Bodmin and a Co-op in Camelford . The butchers in Tintagel sells award winning sausages and the pastie shop at the end of the high street sells an assortment of excellent pasties for all tastes. There is also a take away fish and chip shop and an Indian restaurant. Eating out – there are a high number of pubs, restaurants and cafes in Tintagel and Boscastle area with varying prices and choices. Tintagel has a doctors surgery, post office, hairdressers and loads of unique gift shops.

Booking Conditions

1. Dates of rental and access: Standard changeover is Friday, arrival after 3pm and departure by 10am, unless with written agreement from the owners.
2. The maximum occupancy of the property must not exceed 7 people and should include only those guests provided at time of booking..
3. A security/reservation deposit of £100.00 is payable at the time of booking. This is held as insurance by the owners. It is fully refunded after your departure less any deductions for damage to the property or contents caused during your stay, as reported by our caretaker. Also, deductions can be made for additional cleaning if the property is not left in the conditions stated. Deductions are made at the discretion of the owners. You will be contacted after your departure to confirm method of payment for refund of your deposit.
4. Cancellation Policy - Cancellation of the holiday by yourselves, we are unable to refund your security deposit due to loss of rental income. If the final payment of your holiday has been received we will endeavour to rebook the property to other guests in which case we will refund your payment, less the security deposit and any amounts lost due to late booking discount. If we are unsuccessful in rebooking the property, no refund will be given. If the owners cancel your holiday due to unforeseen circumstances, the security deposit and payment of your holiday will be fully refunded.
5. Smoking is not permitted in the property. Pets only allowed with written consent from owners.
6. Doors should be locked and accessible windows closed when the property is unoccupied.
