We are surrounded by pretty, old villages and towns each with its own personality and offering varied facilities and entertainment. We are just minutes from motorways, airports and railway stations but benefit from our own haven of peace and tranquility.

There is excellent bathing and beaches on the Mediterranean, the Etang de Thau, the River Hérault and the Lac du Salagou. The nearest beach is in Meze 12 kms from the property. A variety of beaches on the Med from the relatively secluded with few facilities to the more lively with restaurants and bars are within a short drive. Most beaches are of fine sand and shelve gently making them child-friendly. Boat hire, sea fishing, sub aqua and a variety of water sports can be arranged.

The property is easily accessible by road (A9 or A75), rail (Agde station at 20 minutes) or air. Ryanair, Easyjet, and/or Flybe fly into Béziers, Montpellier, Nimes, Carcassonne, Perpignan and Marseille from a variety of UK airports. Béziers is 20 mins, Montpellier 30 mins and the rest between 1 and 2 hours from the property. Car hire is available at all these airports. An interesting alternative is to fly to Girona just over the Spanish border where car hire is considerably cheaper.

Further Details:

10 minutes walk away is the medieval village of Montagnac which has lively bars and restaurants and can meet your everyday shopping needs with bakeries, a butcher, delicatessens, stalls for locally grown fruit and vegetables, a newsagents (English papers on the same day - if you're quick!), bank, post office and a shop for oysters, mussels etc. There is a small well stocked supermarket. On Fridays, there is a colourful market where you can buy local produce and specialities such as shellfish and charcuterie. And of course right on the doorstep there is an abundance of superb local wines to enjoy during your stay and to take home with you. 5 minutes across the River Hrault is the beautiful old town of Pézenas. Here you'll find a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgetsas well as a whole host of craft shops in the old town (which stay open until midnight on Wednesdays and Fridays in the summer). Also in July and August is the famous Mirondela dels Arts cultural event with theatrical, dance and musical performances as well as street events. There are also 2 big supermarkets in Pézenas. In contrast, in the lively town of Cap d'Agde you will find all the activities from funfairs to casinos, from nightclubs to outdoor cinema that you would associate with a major seaside resort. Even more temptation awaits in the nearby cities of Béziers and Montpellier with their chic cosmopolitan shops and historic sites. Montpellier which frequently tops polls as the best city in which to live in France is well worth a visit. Its architecture ranges from Roman structures through to the ultra modern and it is a most pleasant place in which to spend a day or even longer.
