Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent Christmas at Tides Reach. It is a very cosy and comfy cottage with plenty of space and all the facilities that you could possibly need. To sit in bed and watch the waves rolling is amazing. To have the fishing harbour as your back garden is perfect. We would definitely return if Laurence would have us!!

lovely setting, house needs some updating

  • 2 of 5

We did love the setting of this old building, which had plenty of character and I suspect was once a pilchard factory. However, the house was not as comfortable as it might have been in winter. The beds were either too soft or in rooms which were too cold due to thin, drafty windows. Bathroom was ok but fairly basic. The kitchen had a lovely table for eating at but felt chilly and was equipped fairly sparsely, with a broken toaster which meant that you could not remove the toast without sticking a fork in and switching it off at the mains first. A great shame...it's the attention to detail that goes a long way towards making a holiday place unforgettable, and we felt that the interior decor did not match up to the external promise of the building. Neither was there any sort of welcome pack. We cut our holiday short after one night and spent the other part of it elsewhere in Cornwall.

Fabulous winter break at Tides Reach

  • 5 of 5

Tides Reach is in a perfect position for a winter break. If the weather is awful sit at the window and gaze at the power of the sea. Not far to nip to the local pubs and eateries. Cosy, comfortable cottage which is hundreds of years old but equipped with all modern amenities. We felt very much at home and would thoroughly recommend it. Booking was easy and Laurence provided us with all the details to ensure our stay was hassle free.

A little Cornish gem

  • 4 of 5

Absolutely loved the house which is located in a fantastic spot virtually on the slipway right in the heart of the village. The pictures really tell a thousand words to describe Port Isaac and more importantly the property itself- quirky, quaint and boasting historical character .Whilst the standard of cleanliness was acceptable there are a couple of minor issues which need to be addressed i.e. the grouting around the shower/bath was blackened with mould - inside the kitchen cabinets required cleaning - dusty under the bed (plus a discarded lozenge). We put it down to the time restriction placed on the cleaning service due to the short change over period.Having mentioned these points,it certainly did not spoil our stay in anyway and we would return to the property in the future.

Port Isaac is a lovely fishing village with sufficient restaurants to satisfy most tastes. It is ideally located as a base to visit the many attractions nearby. The New Road car park is a 10 min walk away along the scenic coastal path.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would not hesitate to recommend a stay at the property.

A very interesting and comfortable property

  • 4 of 5

We were very excited by the close proximity of the sea and loved the unusual house. The entrance was somewhat vexed and the pub people smoking near our door but once inside we were very cosy. It was a great place to enjoy all that Port Isaac has to offer, being close to everything and wonderful for beach combing. Bringing our cases down the hill in the wind and rain was very hard but added the the quirkiness of the whole holiday. We would certainly return and recommend Tides Reach to anyone wanting an interesting place to stay.

Thank you Laurence.
