I was born in Gibraltar in 1971, I still live here with my wife and 2 daughters. My wife and I both work, my wife works in a pharmacy and I have just finished a 22 year career in the British Army and i'm now a nurse. We speak both English and Spanish fluently.

We have had the apartment now for 7 years, and being from Gibraltar it is very easy for me to go back and forth in 25 minutes.

Beautiful, well-maintained apartment.

We've just had our third stay in this lovely apartment. It's always clean, well-equipped and the owners are very welcoming and quick to respond to any queries.

the development is well situated looking out to the coast and with open countryside behind. Puerto Duquesa is a few minutes drive away and is a lovely place to have a drink or a meal. The walk from Castillo to sabanillas along the paseo maritimo is very pleasant.

Fantastic

Alan and his wife met us at the taxi stand in La Duquesa as promised and we followed them in the car to the apartment which was about a 5 minute drive away. The apartment is on a gated complex and has a secured garage for the car. The apartment is fantastic, very clean and well maintained. Alan and his wife gave us a good tour of the facilities, and showed us how to operate the smart tv (a little complicated, but cracked it by the end of our stay!). They'd even left us a few welcome items in the fridge which was appreciated after an early flight from the UK. Having stayed in Cancelada, the other side of Estepona, on previous visits, La Duquesa was a new town for us, but it didn't disappoint. Plenty of great places to eat in the port area. Although most of our time was spent at the beach, we did take a trip to Casares, which is stunning and the Wed market in Estepona, which was interesting, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would definately recommend this apartment to friends and family, but maybe I won't, otherwise it may be booked up when we want to visit again, lol. Alan, thanks to you and your wife, and your parents for your hospitality, we'll be back again for sure.

TOTAL RELAXATION

Alan’s parents Mario and Eileen met us beside the taxi rank in the Port of Duquesa. We felt extremely at ease the moment we met them and it felt like meeting old friends. We then followed them to the apartment, with them stopping occasionally to point out specific shops and restaurants. On arrival at the apartment, it was perfect. The description of the property and accommodation on the website is exactly what you’ll experience. We could not find fault with anything, it is a beautifully kept, well equipped, spacious and spotless apartment. Our double bed was absolute bliss, what a great sleep. We were only there for a week and it was the perfect place to totally relax or visit the outlying area. A great choice of restaurants to suit all tastes. We will certainly be back. Mario and Eileen deserve a huge thank you and it was a pleasure to have met them.

What a welcome!

The meet and greet from Alan's parents could not have been better. The apartment was very well equipped and in spotless condition. We initially had a bit of trouble with the t.v. set-up but Alan immediately came up from Gibraltar to sort it out! We have stayed in the area before so we knew there was plenty to do. We had our daughter and son-in-law over from Canada with us and they were very impressed with everything. I would have no reservation about recommending Alan, his parents and the apartment to anyone.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

I stayed in Alan's lovely apartment in September of last year with my 19 year old daughter, and had no hesitation in chosing to go again with my 22 year old son this year. The apartment is very attractive, spacious, and comfortable, with everything you need. There is air conditioning, tv with many english channels, excellent wifi, and a dvd player. The layout is ideal; with a bedroom and bathroom either side of a large lounge/dining room and fully equipped kitchen. There is a large sunny terrace with table and chairs and two sunbeds overlooking one of the pools. Parking is in the garage a few steps away from the apartment. The whole complex is very attractive and well maintained and is entered through electronic gates. Set up on the hill above Duquesa we love the peace and tranquillity, however the Port is only a few minutes away by car and if you don't wish to drive there are ample taxis for a few euros, or a very pleasant walk for the more energetic. We found the best way for us was to drive to the bottom of the hill, park the car there (to save the hike back up the hill on the way back!) and take the footbridge over the main road, then walk down to Castillo and take the promenade down to Puerto de la Duquesa. There are restaurants to suit every taste in Duquesa; however if you wish to go further afield there is a wide choice within a short driving distance in Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estepona, Puerto Sotogrande and Gibraltar to name but a few.

I highly recommend the apartment because we love staying there and unlike some, "what you see (in the description) is exactly what you get". I am giving a 6th star however to Alan and his parents who are wonderful people. From the first point of contact you feel reassured by Alan's friendliness and professionalism. Every email I sent was responded to by return and it is evident that nothing was too much trouble to ensure that we had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We knew that should we have any problems, Alan or his mother and father would be on hand to sort them out. The fact that they are all so accommodating, honest, and decent makes the whole experience such a pleasure and makes you feel very secure. I very much look forward to seeing them again next year.

Very nice apartment. Very clean and well equipped. Nice location with pleasant outlook. Few minutes drive from shops, beach and marina, which has several good restaurants. 30 minutes drive from

Gibraltar and 15 minutes from Estepona which is a lovely seaside

town.

The owner lives nearby and would have been available if we had

experienced any problems.

Location

From the Owner

The main reason I purchased this property is because its very near the beaches and El Puerto De La Duquesa. The apartment was only 1 year old when I bought it, and has all the facilities needed to make your stay a memorable one. The urbanization is very clean and relaxed, it also has beautiful views. You have a garage space for your vehicle. The security of the urbanization is excellent, we have an electric main gate and two pedestrian gates which prevents non residents to use the facilities in the estate. We also have security guards 24 hrs. The keys for the gates will be given to the families renting the apartment.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Just a few minutes drive is the "blue flag" El Castillo beach with it's Chiringito's (bar/restaurant) typically Spanish town of Sabinillas, with every facility, is a mile away and has a lovely sandy beach and long promenade. About 10 minutes coastal drive to the West lies the chic port of Sotogrande with its trendy bars and restaurants.

Travel:

Malaga airport is a 50 - 60 minute drive away and Gibraltar airport is a 25 - 30 minute drive.

Distances:

Nearest supermarket: 1 Small supermarket called El Dia and another larger supermarket called Eroski both of which are located together on the main road, driving from the apartment towards the Port of Duquesa are about 2 - 3 mins drive. Other supermarkets like Mercadona can be found at approx 10 mins drive.

Nearest bank: Bank with cash point machine in Duquesa - 5 minutes drive. Nearest beach: Duquesa - 1 kms (25 minutes walk) - clean sandy beach. Nearest main town: Estepona - 15 minutes drive.

Further Details:

The local resorts have many activities to offer you, to include all kinds of sport and entertainment for the more energetic among you. Within half an hour of the apartment you can; be shopping in Marbella or Puerto Banus - the millionaires playground of the Costa del Sol; enjoy the beautiful Andalusian mountain scenery or visit a Wildlife park at Selwo. There are many local street markets if it's a bargain your looking for. If it's nightlife you're after look no further than the renowned nightclubs and bars of Puerto Banus, just 20 minutes away. Gibraltar is only a short (25 mins) drive from the apartment with it's history preserved to welcome you to this small friendly British Rock located on the very tip of Southern Spain. With great weather, some superb golf courses, excellent restaurants and sandy beaches all just a few minutes drive away from the apartment there is so much to see, or so little to do - the choice as they say, is yours.

This brand new, spacious air-conditioned 2 bedroom apartment sleeps 4-6 people. It is attractively furnished and is located in the excellent Mediterranean area of Manilva and El Puerto de la Duquesa, 25 minutes from Puerto Banus and Marbella. It is only 55 minutes from Malaga airport and about 25 minutes from Gibraltar airport. This is a perfect location for a relaxing or activity based holiday for families or couples. The benefits that my family and myself enjoy the most is that everything you need such as shop's, supermarkets, banks, restaurants and many more entertainments are all very close by. Entertainments include water sports, horse riding, golf, go karts, water parks and mountain hiking. These can be found minutes away in car or bus from the property.
