Villa Casa IESA enjoys a prime position on the exclusive Alma Verde Village & Spa development and is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty on the fringes of the Costa Vincentina Natural Park. Set among its own highly manicured colourful landscaped gardens with automatic irrigation system, palm trees, long private driveway and car port. The villa is on a large level plot and has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a large open plan living/dining area, private pool and barbecue area. Approximately 50 mins from Faro airport. To the west of the historic coastal fishing port of Lagos, with its ancient walled centre with bustling market, wide range of boutique shops, sailing marina, large beach and quiet sandy coves surrounding. Close to the sandy beaches of Burgau, Selema, Zavial, Martinhal, Sagres and Luz along with the golf courses of Boavista, Parc Da Floresta and Palmares. Within a 2 minute level walk are the tennis courts, playground and open countryside.

About Ian Snadden

Hello, we are a professional couple who let out our private villa to guests via this web site. We live in a small village on the Hampshire/Berk boarder with our two daughters Abigail and Emily. The villa is our second home for family & friends. We have been coming to the area on family holidays for many years, we never grow tired of it. In fact the kids (young adults now aged 17 & 18 yrs) love to bring their friends too. We often also invite members of our extended family as it comfortably takes two families of four. We use typically visit about 3-5 times per year, so do everything possible to ensure others to enjoy it as much as we do by constantly upgrading with new bedding, towels, parasols and loungers to keep in top quality. Our villa is always maintained to the highest standards.

We've been going to the Western Algarve for over 10 years. We just love the reliable climate (18+ all year round), the unspoilt nature of the small beaches, towns and fishing villages and the people are so friendly. Unlike so many holiday locations in southern Europe there isn't any overbuilding, time share touts or crowded beaches. It's perfect for families and our family have been coming back time and time again; we've never grown tired of this fabulous region - so we decided to put down some routes and haven't looked back since!

Now its your chance to enjoy our family home - all we ask is that guests treat the villa with respect and care in the same way they would of their own homes. Enjoy!

What makes this villa unique

We love the rest and relaxation the villa affords us - you can stay around the pool all day, BBQ in the evening and nip in and out of the kitchen for cold beers, wine or even visit the several great secluded beaches within a 5-10 mins drive with some fantastic family run restaurants close by too.

Now we also have the great pleasure of an 'outdoor lounge area' on the roof terrace with wide ranging views of the surrounding countryside. The two sofa's and four wicker arm chairs means its a great chill out place for evening drinks and conversation long into the night when the kids have gone to bed. All open to the stars - which are especially clear and bright up above this part of the world.

Notes on accommodation: Additionally the villa benefits from an environmental control system. Known as the 'Cool House' system it provides natural air conditioning to all principle living areas during summer months and complements the unique 'skirting board radiator' central heating system throughout winter months. Meaning the property is never too hot or too cold always maintaining a fairly constant heat above or below the outside temperature. Outside: The villa sits centrally in its plot and outside are wonderfully landscaped gardens including palm trees, private heated pool (heating optional) plus a large pool area for 6+ sun loungers and outdoor poolside BBQ and dining space. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, linen are included (but not beach towels). The property is cleaned prior to arrival and midweek. Other: Designed by an award winning architect, Villa Casa IESA benefits from open plan living where all principle rooms surround the pool. It also benefits from an environmental control system. The 'Cool House' system provides natural air conditioning inside.

Perfect villa holiday

Our first experience of a villa holiday, and can't imagine it getting any better! The villa easily catered for the two families and all the mod cons plus information about the area, gave us a real home from home feel. The 3 kids (aged 10 and 8) loved the pool and spent hours in it. The nearby villages and towns were close enough to visit by car during the day and cab in cheaply later so we could drink freely. Would not hesitate seeking this villa out again if we come back to the Algarve.

Special interest holidays:

Other nearby facilities include horse riding, tennis, bowls, mountain biking, together with water sports facilities at many of the larger beaches. The outstanding natural beauty of the Costa Vincentina Natural Park is on your doorstep with its olive groves, fig trees, undulating countryside and Cape St Vincent to the west (Europe’s most westerly point) with its magnificent sunsets. The area offers something for everyone whatever age or interests.


Burgau Beach is our nearest beach just 3-5km away on a gentle downhill stoll, although a wide selection of unspoilt sandy beaches and coves are dotted along the south western and western coastline including Meia Praia, Selema, Zavial, Sagres, Praia da Luz and the famous (highly photographed) Dona Ana.

There are 3-5 excellent beaches within 10 mins drive and many many choices of places to eat - beach side, casual dining or more exclusive and formal.


The villa is situated approximately 50 mins from Faro airport to the west of the historic coastal fishing port of Lagos.

A hire car is strongly recommended to gain full enjoyment of the surrounding area and wide selection of beaches and restaurants. There is a large choice of established car hire companies based at Faro airport.

Further Details:

The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, with traditional Portugese culture wherever you look. Indeed the AlmaVerde development fringes the protected Costa Vincentina Natural Park with its olive groves, fig trees, undulating hills and countryside. And of course there are miles of scenic walks along the coastline.

A short trip to the West is Europe's most westerly point - Cape St Vincent - well worth a trip to watch the sun go down!

Nearby historic towns and fishing villages bustle with craft markets, restaurants and bars, and nightlife can be found in Lagos just a 10-15 min drive away.

Great family days out can be enjoyed by all ages at the following pleasure parks:

Zoomarine ocean theme park, near Guia (shown) has Dolphin, Sea Lions and Birds of Pray shows. Plus loads of rides including; log flume, roller coaster, Ferris wheel and a small water park with pool. There is also the opportunity to swim with Dolphins (pre-booking required).

Waterparks - There are two large water parks nearby:

Slide & Splash and The Big One both near Lagoa.

The Western Algarve, particularly the western side of Lagos where Villa Casa IESA is located, is blessed with some of Europe's best beaches, and the area around Alma Verde enjoys easy access (by car) to any number of quaint sandy beaches and coves, each served by delightful beachside bars and restaurants serving fresh seafood, together with a wide range of English and Portuguese dishes for adults and children.

    Please contact us for all enquiries - provisional bookings may be taken over the phone/e-mail prior to flight booking, a deposit of £200 pw secures a booking confirmation with final balance falling due 6-8 weeks before departure.

    A security deposit against breakages of £100 per week is taken and returned upon safew return of keys without breakages being reported by the management company's exit clean team.

    Cancellation fees apply should late cancellation occur.

    Changeover Day:
    We are generally very flexible regarding changeover days - although normally these take place on Thursday, Friday or Saturdays.

    Notes on prices:
    Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds Sterling or Euros equivalent.

    Pool heating is an optional extra outside sumer peak season at £100 per week.

    'NOW' included FOC during high season (June - August).

    Please contact owner for information and rates for longer term lets (discount available for 3+ weeks).

    Returning guests discount available with repeat bookings having first refusal for same period the following year.
