Welcome to our fabulous apartment, beautifully furnished to the highest standard. Ideal for families, couples and golfers seeking that relaxing holiday / break. Boasting 2 sizeable terraces (on 1st floor and rooftop), you can relax and soak up the sun all day, enjoy an evening drink or barbeque and watch the beautiful sunset. Views from the property overlook the communal pool and garden area. This spacious self catering apartment has a large lounge / dining room and fully fitted kitchen. It is situated on the prestigious 5 star Vila Sol Golf Resort. For the golfers, you are situated less than a five minute walk from the 27 hole championship Vila Sol golf course. Nearby Vilamoura boasts a further five championship golf courses. There are also wonderful courses at Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo within a 20 minute drive. For the non golfers, there is the apartment terraces, the communal pool and gardens and of course plenty of wonderful beaches only 10 minutes away. Vila Sol lies only 12 miles (20 mins) from Faro airport and a few minutes drive from Vilamoura, with its stunning marina which offers a large variety of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes. The marina basin is enclosed by a broad quayside which in turn is surrounded by a vibrant and thriving waterside community. Overlooking the quay can be a great place to sit and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a local beer or stunning meal. From here you can walk to the beach or arrange fishing or boating excursions. Alternatively there is a variety of boutiques, international brand outlets, and handicraft shops for souvenirs or gifts. There are many watersport activities available and a large waterpark "AquaShow" is on your doorstep.

'We have stayed at this property twice now and really love it! The property is very clean and has all the mod cons a family with young children could need. Our 3 year old son had plenty of room to play on the terraces and the extra safety provided by the owners (safety gates) were very much appreciated. The complex is wonderful and we used the pool facilities of the nearby hotel too. Lovely restaurants on site and the management company were very helpful and friendly. Modern and pleasant apartment with plenty of outside space, and well equipped.

Overall we had a lovely holiday, location is great for golf, and Vilamoura just a few minutes away in a taxi where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. Vila Sol is quiet and peaceful in October, and there isn't much open on the resort in the evenings. Our experienced could have been better if the apartment had its own WiFi, there is only connectivity to the Vila Sol WiFi if you are on the balcony, and even that wasn't possible for 4 of the days we were there, also if the apartment had English TV, all we had was BBC World Service. At times we felt totally disconnected from the outside world! One smaller point would be to change the toilet brushes, I wouldn't have them in my bathrooms. These are the only issues preventing this from being a 5 star rating from us.

Coast/Beach:

It is approximately a 10 minute drive to Falesia, Marina and Quarteira beaches and only around 20 minutes to to the fabulous Quinta Do Lago / Vale do Lobo beaches.

Travel:

Vila Sol is about 12 miles (20 mins) from Faro. Full directions are available on request. A car is recommended, but taxi hire is readily available. We can arrange for airport transfer via our management company at additional cost.

Distances:

The Aqua park is only 1 mile away. Quarteira and Vilamoura 3 miles and Loule 5 miles.

Further Details:

In addition to the hotel restaurants, Vila Sol has its own pub Oscars near the entrance to the development, which does lunches (seasonal) and evening/bar meals. They have Sky Sports, quiz nights/music nights and free wi-fi. There is also a DeliCoffee shop nearby, which does breakfasts, lunches, cakes & has free wi-fi. There is a small grocery shop Pra' Gora next to DeliCoffee, which sells the essentials and newspapers. A family run tapas restaurant opened in 2014 and WildFire grill/steak restaurant opened in 2016. The Portuguese restaurant A Paisagem is located on the roundabout at the entrance to the resort.

For supermarkets, we recommend either Pingo Doce (a few minutes drive away on the way to Quarteira/Vilamoura on the N396) or Apolonia in nearby Almancil, which carries British goods. There is an Aldi in Almancil, near Apolonia.

There is a large shopping centre known as "Algarve Shopping" about 20 minutes away, near Albufeira. There is another large shopping centre "Forum, Algarve" in Faro.

We can arrange for the fridge to be stocked with essentials before arrival at an additional cost. Please contact the owners to arrange this.

Local restaurants: You can use the various restaurants in the Vila Sol hotel and golf clubhouse. There are a number of Portuguese, Chinese and Indian restaurants within a short distance, on the N396. Vilamoura marina offers a superb selection of quality restaurants covering a wide variety of cuisines.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is equipped with a climate control system, providing air-conditioning or heating to all rooms as required. Cots/high chairs available upon request at an additional cost. Outside: Patio doors lead from the lounge onto the sizeable first floor terrace, which has a beautiful view of the communal garden and pool area. The lower terrace is equipped with barbeque facilities and a table with 4 chairs. A further set of steps leads to a spacious rooftop terrace, which receives the sun all day long. It is equipped with 4 sun-loungers. Utility Room: Washing machine. Clothes airer; iron & board Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly cleaning, bathroom towels and bed-linen included.
