Spacious apartment in St Gervais, - Quiet Location, 5 Minutes walk to shops and bars

Spacious ground floor apartment (58sq.m) with large double bedroom, 2nd even larger bedroom with up t0 4 single beds. Well equipped kitchen, nice seating and dining areas. French windows to balcony. Lovely views of the mountains (even from the bathroom). Private parking and large separate ski cellar. Very close to the Tramway de Mont Blanc. The station is a very short walk down the hill where you also can get the free ski bus to the Bettex cable car. There is an even closer bus stop just along the road in the other direction.The trip up to Les Houches is a must, the views are gorgeous. We can help with ski hire, lift passes and put you in touch with Ecole de Ski Francais for ski lessons. St Gervais Mont Blanc has an enormous ski area which is well planned for family skiers of all abilities.

We have a large skicellar to keep all your gear in so it won't get in your way in the apartment.

2016 the Tour de France is coming to town. Stage 19 will end at St Gervais Bettex and the day before is the time trial Sallanches to Megeve. Just up the road from St Gervais

Lovely quiet location for a family summer alps holiday.

We stayed in this property for a week in August 2016. From the outset the owners were very helpful and informative about the area and accommodation, sending us information and maps in advance of our stay. We travelled as a family of 4 with children aged 6 and nearly 4. We didn't hire a car but used transfer company CVT to transport us from Geneva airport to the apartment and found there was plenty to do without needing a car. Highlights included the ski lifts up to Mont d'Arbois and the tramway partway up Mont Blanc. The apartment was quiet, clean, well appointed and very convenient for the town. The town has a lovely alpine feel and it was easy to get all the essentials within the town. We enjoyed several restaurants both in the town and at Le Bettex. Thank you Valerie and Barnaby for use of your apartment.

Location

From the Owner

It's a great place in the surprisingly hot summers when we love to sit on the balcony with a drink and watch the mountains. A great place to chill! There are great walks up to the glaciers from Le TMB, we even walked up to Prarion from the apartment once, just once. The town has great restaurants from fine Alpine dining to even finer pizzas. We are just a few moments level walk from the town. Market day is Thursday a good day to stock up on cheeses and socks. St Gervais seems to be a town where there is always something going on, winter or summer. So far the snows have not let us down.

Nearest Airport : Geneva at 86 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Brasserie Mont Blanc at 500 Metres Nearest Golf : Chamonix or Megeve at 10 Kilometres Nearest Train : Le Fayet at 8 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A40 at 7 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Lou Graigni at 250 Metres Nearest Ski : Bettex ski lift at 500 Metres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

10 minutes drive in summer to the lakeside beach at Passy where people enjoy windsurfing, model boats, fishing etc.

Travel:

Geneva is the nearest airport. Served by EasyJet from LGW, BA from LHR and other budget airlines. We are about an hour's drive from Geneva. Try Alpybus for collection and return. About 2.5 hours drive from Lyons and Milan Malpensa and probably similar from Grenoble.

Distances: 150 metres to free ski shuttle bus.

5 minutes walk to town centre. 5 minutes drive or by TMB to the spa at St Gervais Les Bains for treatments and pampering. 10 minutes drive to Sallanches which has a huge supermarket and 10 minutes drive to Megeve with art galleries, fine shopping and coffee bars. 15 minutes drive to Chamonix. Probably about 40 minutes drive into Switzerland or Italy.

Further Details:

St Gervais is a great little market town. Plenty of shops and restaurants and nice bars. A St Gervais Evasion pass gives access to the Megeve, Les Contamines, Combloux and St Nicholas ski areas. Les Contamines is particularly snow sure, it's where they bus you in to if the snow is poor in the more well known resorts. There is also a more local (cheaper) lift pass available if you are a novice or feel you may not need the full lift pass. Our local mountain restaurants are great. Follow the smell of garlic as you pass by on the drag lift or just look around when you come in to the Bettex lift area. We can tell you about the good value restaurants in town for a nice evening meal or late afternoon tea. Talk to us and we will help you plan a perfect holiday.

Changeover Day:
Saturday or Sunday changeover days. Please be clear of the apartment by 10 am. You will have access from 4pm on your arrival. Short breaks welcome.

Notes on prices:
We are very happy to accept payment in UK Pounds or euros. Prices are for 5 people using the apartment for 1 week. Full bedding, bathmat and towels are provided. Plenty of room for up to 6 people but there is an additional charge for the extra laundry. We can discount if you bring your own bedding and towels. Discount of £30 available for bookings of 2 weeks or more. Weekday arrivals/departures also available.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment has central heating and is very warm and spacious. There is plenty of hot water and a proper bath to soak in at the end of a day on the mountains. We are not really suitable for children under 5. Good selection of books and games available. Outside: There are patio doors from the sitting room on to a small balcony with steps down to a very small garden area. Enjoy the views and the peace and quiet. Otherwise, watch the birds enjoy breadcrumbs on the balcony. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Property is cleaned on arrival. Towels and bed linen for 5 guests are included. Extra available for a small charge. The apartment will be cleaned and linen changed at the end of a 7 day stay. Other: Large walk in cellar with plenty of room for skis, ski boots, and all the ski clothing. Private parking just outside the entrance to the building in private carpark.
