Casa Cascada is a traditionally designed Spanish villa which has been fitted and furnished to a high standard. It is surrounded by a delightful Mediterranean garden and benefits from a stylish infinity pool and adjacent terrace with stunning views over Port Addaia marina. There is a shaded patio area with a table which seats 8 for alfresco dining with 2 exterior ceiling fans to keep you cool. The villa has individual air condition units in each room offering a choice of temperature. There are adjustable insect screens fitted to most windows. There are two twin bedded rooms and two double rooms each with a king size bed. Just off the master double bedroom there is a large sun bathing terrace with beautiful panoramic views. The village centre is an easy 8 minute walk with several bars, restaurants, a gift /paper shop plus a mini market with a wide range of groceries, fruit and vegetables.

Addaia marina is within a very short stroll (approximately 3 minutes) and offers a relaxing venue for meeting friends for drinks, lunch or evening meal and offers a picturesque view of the various boats and yacht's moored nearby.

About Iris Evans

David and I are retired, although we always seem to be busy doing things. I was a nurse, but now work voluntarily part time at our local Arts Centre, which I love. We have 3 grown daughters with families of their own. We have our family villa close to our rental villas, this enables us to attend quickly to any emergencies if they arise. Most of the summer months are spent in Menorca managing Villa Ventada and Casa Cascada, with the help of our family. Winter months we catch up on our friends and try to enjoy the winter.

Why Iris Evans chose Es Mercadal

It was on a normal family holiday in Menorca, 5 years ago we spotted a piece of land with beautiful views over Port Addaya, it was a dream, only a dream and returned to England. Christmas found us negotiating a price and to our delight it was accepted. There was permission for 3 houses. Over the course of the following 3 years our family house was completed plus Casa Cascada and Villa Ventada (the later two we intended to sell) but changed our minds and decided to holiday let. The villas are situated in a peaceful location with a variety of beautiful properties surrounding them, but within easy walking distance to the village and the attractive Addaia marina.

What makes this villa unique

Our villas are furnished to a high standard, the furnishing were transported from the U.K including good quality beds. The infinity pool is a very different experience and offers amazing views over attractive Addaia marina and the sound. My husband and I act as Managing Agents and are on hand to deal with any emergencies that may arise. We have lots of help in the form of gardeners, cleaner/laundry ladies, pool maintenance and many other essential maintenance services. Our guests comfort and privacy is our main concern.

Notes on accommodation: Ground floor windows and doors leading onto patio/swimming pool are fitted with high locks. Child stair gates can be provided if required and also a baby changing mat. Cot and high chair also available, all at no extra cost. Upper floor bedrooms are all terraced with beautiful views. Outside: There is private 8 x 4m (approx) infinity pool with a Daisy Solar pool cover to enhance temperature and adjacent terracing with sun loungers. The villa is surrounded by a delightful Mediterranean style garden. A shaded patio area seats 8 people. There is a patio swing chair seating 2 for your relaxation. There is secured access via the rear garden to our other villa, Villa Ventada, which sleeps 6, these 2 villas are ideal for larger family gatherings of up to 14 guests. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, fold up cloths dryer. Large stone sink. Outside drying area. Vaccum cleaner, brooms etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The villa is prepared for your arrival. All linen and towels are provided and changed weekly when the villa is cleaned. Pool towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. Other: Entrance hall with fitted wardrobe for storage and extra hanging. Large garage with electronically opening doors and off street parking.

A beautiful villa in a stunning location

We had a fabulous week. Iris and David could not have been more helpful or welcoming. The villa was well stocked and we didn't need to buy much and the welcome pack was great. We think the literature should stress the need for a car as there are only a few restaurants within walking distance and one of these was closed for 2 days whilst we were there. Otherwise we loved Menorca and the villa thank you

Lovely Villa

The villa is very well situated with great views across the small harbour. It is in a quiet area but easily walkable to several restaurants and a well stocked supermarket. There are also nearby walking paths around the edge of the coast. There is a boat trip from the harbour going along the coast including two stops for swimming and snorkeling. The villa itself is spacious, well equipped and immaculately clean. At the time of our visit the owners were in their own villa next door and welcomed us on arrival explaining how everything worked. We would recommend this villa to anyone wishing for a relaxing holiday.

Superb Villa

Excellent location about 25 minute drive from the airport.

The villa was absolutely superb with top quality fixtures and fittings, lovely pool and patio overlooking the harbour.

Three restaurants within 10 minutes walk as is the local supermarket, there is a national park just around the bay if you would like a relaxing walk.

Many outher restaurants within 15 minute drive, the whole island is very accessible and traffic volumes are very low.

The local people are very friendly and extremely helpful, the British owners of the villa are next door to help with any questions that you may have.

If you are looking for a relaxing luxurious break then this is the place for you

Fantastic Villa

We have stayed in several villas in Addaia and although they have been to a high standard, we found Casa Cascada absolutely perfect and can't wait to return.

The villa is extremely well furnished, well equipped and very clean.

The pool is fantastic and pool towels were provided, which saved us the bother of taking our own.

David and Iris were most welcoming and even though we booked our stay last minute, they were very organised.

Just a 3 minute stroll from the villa leads you to the attractive marina of Port Addaia with a friendly drinks bar and restaurant. Paddle boards, cycles and kayaks can be hired from here, Addaia offers a section of a stunning coastal walk "The Cami De Cavalls" through countryside, farmland and salt flats leading to the light house of Cap de Favaritx and on.

Na Macaret beach nearby offers a safe environment for young children and El Arenal has a large sandy half moon bay, suitable for all the family with shops, bars and restaurants, both of these beaches are just 5 minutes by car. Es Grau with it's nature reserve is a 20 minute drive and has 2 large half moon bays, shallow and safe ideal for snorkeling. Es Grau is also a small fishing village with a very good fish restaurant which serves straight from the daily catch.

For something very special, take a 15 minute drive to delightful Fornells, very Menorcan, well known for its shallow safe waters where various water sports including wind surfing, sailing, water skiing, are taught. Motor boats can be hired by the hour. There are a variety of excellent restaurants, craft and clothes shops


The drive from Mahon airport to the villa is about 25 minutes. Port Mahon has a number of ferries each week visiting the mainland, and also popular with visiting cruise liners Although there is a reliable bus service covering the island it is advisable to hire a car to see Menorca at its best.


An 8 minute stroll from the villa brings you into the heart of the village with its bars, restaurants, supermarket, newspaper/gift shop and boat chandlers where boats can be hired. A small children’s play ground can be found by following the road through towards the headland which looks across to Na Macaret and open sea, this takes approximately 2 minutes by car, or a 10 minute stroll.

Further Details:

If you feel you have relaxed enough why not try some cycling, canoeing, horse-riding, or even a coastal walk or tennis, these are all available within a short distance away.

Addaia is set in a peaceful location, the village has a wide range of stunning villas, some overlooking the marina, set high to obtain a beautiful scenic view, Casa Cascada is one of them.

TV reception is generally of a good quality with a range of channels to choose from. Fast wi-fi internet system is in operation at the villa.

Our family villa is nearby so there is always a member of our family to assist with any emergencies, to give advice and to resolve any problems.

On you arrival you will find water, tea, coffee, juice, milk, bread, butter, jam, biscuits and a bottle of Cava to start your holiday, plus comprehensive information on what to do and where to go.

Booking Notes:
Security. Please telephone owners regarding availability of villa 07803172634, we will telephone you if we receive an enquiry that indicates further interest, occasionally emails go astray. Payment by bank transfer by prior agreement.

A deposit of 20% will be required with booking. Final payment is due 8 weeks prior to departure, keys to the villa are handed over personally at the villa and travel instructions will be either be sent by post or emailed. A refundable deposit of £200 is requested to cover breakages and damage.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is normally on a Friday. Arrival after 2.30pm, departure by 10am. Special arrangements may be possible to match flights on other days, particularly in the low season.
