This apartment offers a very large living area with a stunning spiral staircase, 2 double rooms, 1 twin room and 1 sofabed, and comprises a total of 83sqm of living area over 2 floors complete with upper balcony and downstairs terrace. Thermostatic underfloor heating. Strictly non-smoking.

I live in Yorkshire with my husband Andy, and have skied for over 25 years. Between us we have 6 offspring aged between 18 and 26. We also own our Flagmaking business "Flying Colours Flagmakers" based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. I have skied extensively throughout Europe and America and fully understand the huge expense a skiing holiday can involve especially when you travel as a family party. This was one of my reasons for purchasing a beautiful apartment in Austria. Apart from skiing we also enjoy camping holidays but nevertheless we also visit Austria in the summer time which transforms itself into a paradise of beautiful vistas to be enjoyed by all with plenty to do.

What a great appartment!!!

This was the first time we skied in Austria and the apartment was a perfect base. It is very convenient for both main ski lifts (Flying Mozart & Grafenberg) which then connect to Flachau and beyond. Internally the apartment is as described with very large open plan living room, ample space in the bedrooms, very clean and well stocked up with board games for kids, and a great spiral staircase which kids loved.

It has a balcony which is VERY convenient for loading / unloading the car on arrival / departure!!!

Wagrain itself is a magical little village with nice restaurants and bars and other larger villages are only minutes away by car.

Would definitely recommend (and actually considered returning there for Feb Half term, but already booked unfortunately :-( ..... maybe next year :-)

Great comms with the owners who managed to help us finding an item which we left behind in the flat.

Location

The apartment was purchased from new in October 2007. I bought my apartment in Wagrain simply because I love everything about Austria, however, Wagrain has an exceptional snow record normally receiving large snow falls in late November and it is not unusual for snow falls to happen in May. Furthermore Wagrain has a vast extensive ultra modern lift system, little queueing and extensive skiing for beginners to advanced. The resort prices are incredibly conservative and in most cases you can have a decent meal on the mountain including alcoholic drinks with change from a 10 Euro note. The reason for this is that the resort is self sufficient and does not have to charge extortionate prices to make a living, unlike high altitude ski resorts. Try it you will be thrilled.

Over 140km of marked hiking and walking paths. Some ski lifts are open in the summer months.

Travel:

Salzburg airport is 71km from Wagrain, approximately 45 minutes journey by car. Munich airport is 240km from Wagrain, just over 2 hours journey by car. Innsbruch airport is 250km from Wagrain. Distance from ports: 10hrs 30m from Calais (630 miles). The distances from Bruges and Rotterdam are very similar. Once you have arrived at the resort a car is not required. Public transport is efficient and plentiful. There is the opportunity to book excursions through the Wagrain tourist board office.

Distances:

The apartment is situated 5 minutes walk from the centre of Wagrain. 2minutes from a local supermarket and sports shops. Approx 400m from both bottom stations of the mountain transport system.

Further Details:

The apartment is situated in the Kirchboden part of Wagrain close to the Flying Mozart ski station, Haar Trog and Kuhstall après ski bars, Sarastro disco/club and pizzeria, Ski school and ski hire shops and Spar supermarket. Also in the other direction from the apartment, it is approximately 400m to the 8 man Graffenberg gondola lift system linking Wagrain to Alpendorf, together with the hustle and bustle of down town life featuring several après ski bars, pubs, eateries of all styles, clubs, discos and other hotels.

  • Booking Notes:
    A 30% non-refundable deposit is due upon booking and the non-refundable balance of payment is due 12 weeks before your arrival date. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances which may prevent you from travelling.

    A service charge of Eur 90 is due on arrival, which is the cost of cleaning and servicing the apartment after your departure, to prepare it for future guests.

    Changeover Day:
    Winter changeover day is usually Saturday although there may be occasions when this can be varied on client request. Check in time is any time after 4pm. Check out time is by 10am.
    Summer is more flexible and we offer flexible arrival days to suit

Our modern apartment is located close to the ski lifts, shops and bars. You will never run out of hot water (normally associated with large apartment blocks) because our hot water is piped in on the village supply. Furthermore the superb underfloor heating, with individual thermostats to each room keeps you homely and warm. The wellness facilities situated in the cellar (Sauna, jacuzzi, Heatcabins) are typical of Austria offering plenty of relaxation to rejuvenate any aching limbs. Our apartment is one of ten, and your neighbours are the friendly Danish who share the same high moral standards you would expect. A regular comment we receive from our guests is that the apartment offers 4 star hotel standard accommodation, this is endorsed by their frequent repeat visits.

  • Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is suitable for children and there is a children's play area in the basement. All the rooms are heated by underfloor heating regulated by individual thermostats to each room. The apartment offers a total of 83 square metres of living space (excluding the private balcony) and offers stunning mountain views. Please note the wellness area in Summer is closed. Outside: There is a communal area outside the property which is laid to lawn, and an outside terrace which is shared with one other property. The property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and yet is just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Wagrain. Utility Room: There is a laundry room in the basement complete with coin operated washing machine, tumble dryer and iron if you feel you have to. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is serviced on a weekly basis (changeover day) and large Austrian pillows, duvets, duvet covers and towels are included. Other: Coin operated clothes washing and drying facilities in basement. Also in basement: heated secure ski and boot lockers, secure space for storing mountain bikes and children's play area. The wellness area is open in the winter season but closed in summer.
