About Paula Graham

Casa Fiori is run by myself and my mother. Both of us have visited Italy since the 1960s. I have a degree in Italian and art history and have studied and worked in Italy. Casa Fiori was bought several years ago while I was teaching in Viterbo. With my wide knowledge of Italian language and culture I am able to help with all visitors queries and requests and welcome you to my beautiful home.

Why Paula Graham chose Viterbo Province

The house and gardens are beautiful, the location and views are stunning. The house inside has plenty of its old features whilst having gained some new and striking features. The house is near beautiful Lake Bolsena which is gorgeous at any time of the year, the sunsets are amazing. The animal and birds by the lake are incredible, the Herons fish alongside the human swimmers

What makes this farmhouse unique

A relatively cheap place to stay with all the luxuries of modern living. Exclusive use of the house and gardens. Peace serenity calm beauty and sunshine

Lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a fab position, at the end of a quirky little street and with a large garden on several levels tumbling down a hillside with views across to the valley. Lizard-hunting fun for any kids! It's like a home-from-home but with the feel of living like an Italian. Normally we stay in large hotels so we appreciated the change! Montefiascone is 5 minutes drive away, a good restaurant is within easy walking distance (crossing the remains of an old Roman road) and there is a super pizzeria in Montefiascone run by an elderly Italian who serves dozens of varieties straight onto the table - no plates! (but a large napkin) - incredibly cheap and good fun. Lake Bolsena is a short drive away, you can park right by the water's edge - pick your place - and walk straight in for a wild swim. There is also boat hire, pedallos and eateries further around the shore. Spectacular sights we also visited were Bagnoreggio - fairytale hiiltop town - Viterbo, and the "Park of Monsters", full of fabulous, giant statues of mythical creatures. You could have any type of holiday here; there is plenty of traditional sightseeing, but also deserted places where you can be quiet and tranquil.

The owners, Paula and Una, can provide you with an itinerary to suit you as they have known the area for over 20 years. Lovely, warm people who want you to enjoy the area as much as they do.

We loved it so much that we are going back again this year with a larger family group - so that's a real endorsement!

While near Rome

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful holiday at Casafiori. Its a lovely spacious and traditional house, spotlessly clean, with everything you need and a terrace and gartden to enjoy the sun and scenery. And its wonderfully placed in the middle of a beautiful and fascinating part of Italy, just an hour from Rome. This was an ideal holiday for me because I like to see the real country beyond the holiday resorts. Lots of amazing history, architecture, gardens, towns, walks, and lakes and the coast for a lazy day. And luscious food and wine. I particularly enjoyed the Etruscan tombs and swimming in Lake Bolsena. Lots to see and do in the area and in Rome itself, and a great base at Casafiori. I'll defintely be back myself and have recommended it to my friends and family. You will need your own car to get around easily and some basic italian, or a phrasebook to refer to.

Magical

great family holiday, kids loved the garden and the freedom.

great accomodation and Paula and her mum couldnt have been more helpful, my father in law is Italian and comes from the area so it was a great base for us all, we cooked in the stone built oven in the garden which was great fun, very rustic.

plenty vino and lemoncello consumed, thanks again ladies x

Liked best: The peace and quiet

Liked least: wee bit futher away from montefiascone than we thought
