About this property

Well appointed townhouse with stunning views of the sea and countryside.

Our house in Quinta do Montinho is our piece of paradise! QDM is a small collection of superbly appointed townhouses built on a hillside overlooking the village of Budens on the Western Algarve. It is a very peaceful location with south facing glorious views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance. The house has it's own garden and a south facing balcony from which to enjoy the views and the sunshine. There is a beautiful communal pool at QDM which our guests are free to use.
The house is located within the Santo Antonio Golf and Leisure Club. In addition to the challenging 18 hole golf course, there are other facilities such as a spa, leisure and fitness centre, floodlit tennis courts and a bowling green. Details of costs to use these facilities can be obtained at main reception.
There are numerous fabulous beaches close by and places of interest to visit including; Lagos, Sagres, Praia da Luz to name but a few. The house is ideally situated for families or couples who enjoy the beach, exploring the countryside and excellent local restaurants.
The house is very well equipped to meet all your needs. We have just recently installed a broadband connection, so there is free unlimited wifi within the house. We now have UKTV installed in the house showing all BBC and ITV channels as well as Channels 4 and 5. There are a number of DVDs for use of our guests.

Great location

The property is great. Well presented and great facilities. It was bigger than we expected. The balcony has a great view over the village. The pool to a short walk away and brilliant for kids. There are a number of beaches only a short drive away and we visited a different one each day during our stay. The supermarket at the bottom of the hill is very useful

Great location - ideal property

As a family we had a fantastic time in Budens. The property was a perfect base and the kids were chuffed with the Super fast WIFI :) The pool was only a short walk away down some steps. It was mostly never busy so like having the pool to yourself most of the time! Would recommend to people considering their holiday as a base in the Algarve.

Good location for family holiday

Excellent spot to explore the western algarve. Lovely home for our 2 week stay. The property was fully equipped with everything we needed & more. The pool area was great & never overcrowded. We went as a family of four with an 11& 7 year old. The golf resort itself is very quiet & perfect if you want to get in some exercise with up & down hills. The intermarche supermarket is handy at the bottom of the resort but expensive. We preferred to make the 15 minute drive into Lagos to Aldi or Lidl but it’s handy for daily essentials. Only downside for us was it was a tad windy some days being up in Budens as opposed to down on the beach side but no biggie.

Very Homely House in Budens

We enjoyed our stay at 14,Quintas da Monthinos during November, the house was very welcoming and felt very homely, when the weather felt cold at night, an added bonus was the lovely log fire, we obtained all our Logs and Fir Cones from Intermarche in Budens. The house was very well equipped for a self catering holiday also the Domestic staff made sure the house was spotless. Weather was mixed but never cold, wind a bit of a challenge though? otherwise no complaints The WI-FI is fast and very reliable.Very

I am a retired Primary School teacher. I live in Holmfirth.I am married to a retired headteacher of a large High School. We now spend a lot of time on the golf course. We try to visit our lovely house in Portugal at least twice a year.

Why they chose this property

We love the Western Algarve. It is less crowded and the beaches are superb. We fell in love with the house and bought it in 2007. The house has gorgeous views of the sea and surrounding countryside from the south facing balcony. There is a communal swimming pool close to the house.We are able to offer all the facilities at Santo Antonio including; golf, gym, spa and childrens club.
There are many restaurants all within a few miles, many of which we have recommended in our restaurant guide.
We have central heating as well as a log-burning fire.
The house is in excellent condition and fully equipped. There is no finer feeling than sitting on the balcony as the sun goes down sipping a glass of local wine and basking in the tranquility the house affords Suitable for all year round lets.

What makes this property unique

So far we have had guests from 6 months old to 88 year olds and all have enjoyed their stay and indeed many have been returning guests. We have recently refurnished the master bedroom in mexican pine. Both bathrooms have power showers. One advantage of the house is that no matter how hot it is during the day, the temperature is pleasant in the evening. Air con is not needed to ensure a good nights sleep.
We have a free unlimited wifi, tv, DVD player, a selection of dvds, ipod docking station, family games, a library, and beach equipment for the use of our guests.
