Townhouse in Quinta do Montinho / Parque da Floresta, Algarve - South Facing Views Of Countryside And Sea

Our house in Quinta do Montinho is our piece of paradise! QDM is a small collection of superbly appointed townhouses built on a hillside overlooking the village of Budens on the Western Algarve. It is a very peaceful location with south facing glorious views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance. The house has it's own garden and a south facing balcony from which to enjoy the views and the sunshine. There is a beautiful communal pool at QDM which our guests are free to use.

The house is located within the Parque de Floresta Golf and Leisure Club. In addition to the challenging 18 hole golf course, there are other facilities such as a spa, leisure and fitness centre, floodlit tennis courts and a bowling green. Details of costs to use these facilities can be obtained at main reception.

There are numerous fabulous beaches close by and places of interest to visit including; Lagos, Sagres, Praia da Luz to name but a few. The house is ideally situated for families or couples who enjoy the beach, exploring the countryside and excellent local restaurants.

The house is very well equipped to meet all your needs. We have just recently installed a broadband connection, so there is free unlimited wifi within the house. We now have UKTV installed in the house showing all BBC and ITV channels as well as Channels 4 and 5. There are a number of DVDs for use of our guests.

We love the Western Algarve. It is less crowded and the beaches are superb. We fell in love with the house and bought it in 2007. The house has gorgeous views of the sea and surrounding countryside from the south facing balcony. There is a heated swimming pool close to the house.We are able to offer all the facilities at Parque da Floresta including; golf, gym, spa and childrens club. There are many restaurants all within a few miles, many of which we have recommended in our restaurant guide. We have central heating as well as a log-burning fire. The house is in excellent condition and fully equipped. There is no finer feeling than sitting on the balcony as the sun goes down sipping a glass of local wine and basking in the tranquility the house affords Suitable for all year round lets.

Activity and Interests

Car: necessary


The nearest beach is at Salema about 5 mins by car. Other local beaches include Burgau, Cabanas Velhas, Luz, Ingrina, Zavial and Sagres. All are different in character but within 20 mins drive.


The house is approx 90km / 1 hour from Faro airport and transfers are easy to arrange. Comprehensive directions from Faro to our house will be provided in advance. Car hire is recommended so that you can explore the surrounding area.


The village of Budens is 5 mins walk. Salema is 5 mins by car. Burgau 10 mins by car. Praia de Luz 15 mins by car. Lagos 20 mins by car and Sagres is also 20 mins by car.

Further Details:

Budens has a large Intermarche with all well known provisions available as well as an ATM and a petrol station. Luz has the Baptista supermarket with an ATM and a bank and a doctor's surgery. Water sports are available in the summer. Lagos is the nearest large town with many Hypermarkets, banks, shops and a bustling marina. All the towns have many restaurants which offer a variety of food and prices to cater for all and most have children's menus. Well worth a visit is Cape St. Vincent. Europe's most westerly point offering spectacular views of the cliffs. Also the Monchique mountains are well worth exploring as is the West coast with its secluded beaches.

A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking, the balance is due 8 weeks before your holiday commences. Also a deposit of £100 against breakages. This will be returned after the house has been inspected. We ask our guests to complete our booking form to assist us to make all the necessary arrangements for your holiday. Longer lettings than 2 weeks will be at a discounted rate.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are flexible. Arrival should be after 2pm and departure by 10am.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Discounts for long winter lets are available. and discounts for lets of more than 2 weeks. Please contact the owner for details.

From the Owner

So far we have had guests from 6 months old to 88 year olds and all have enjoyed their stay and indeed many have been returning guests. We have recently refurnished the master bedroom in mexican pine. Both bathrooms have power showers. One advantage of the house is that no matter how hot it is during the day, the temperature is pleasant in the evening. Air con is not needed to ensure a good nights sleep. We have a free unlimited wifi, tv, DVD player, hifi, a selection of cds and dvds, ipod docking station, family games, a library, and beach equipment for the use of our guests.

  • Notes on accommodation: There are also electric wall mounted heaters in the lounge/dining room and both bedrooms. The balcony is high sided and safe for all children. High chairs and cots can be provided at an additional cost. Outside: The house has its own landscaped south facing garden. The communal gardens are beautifully maintained. On the balcony there are 2 sun loungers with cushions as well as a patio table and 6 chairs. There is a large communal swimming pool heated from April to October. Sun loungers and parasols are provided. There is ample parking outside the property. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Housekeeping is provided with change of fresh towels and bed linen and cleaning on a weekly basis. Please bring your own beach towels.
