Excellent family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fantastic first family holiday together in this villa. Everything was perfect and has allowed us to create excellent family memories that will last a long time. The shared pool is a short walk away and has an excellent baby pool, perfect for our young daughter. The pool was quiet and it was nice to share it with mainly German and Spanish people, which we really liked, not a Brits abroad type place. Our daughter Sean for the first time with her armbands in the main pool - what a great memory to have from the holiday.

The surrounding area is lovely and clean, very peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. I would strongly recommend car hire to allow you to see the local area. We found a bar owner by the marina (quarterdeck) in Cala D'or who told us about little beaches in portocolom frequented by locals. Fabulous shade from the trees for our daughter and so scenic. Our daughter played with Spanish children and had a lovely time.

The villa is very well equipped, the kitchen especially. Great air conditioning in the bedrooms and the living room too. Very impressed with the extras for children - high chair, toddler booster seat, step to allow kids to reach the sink and a stair gate.

Martin was excellent in his communication with us - very quick to reply to any messages we sent.

This is not the place to come if you want a busy pool, noisy evenings and lots of English folks about. However, if you want to relax and enjoy peaceful surroundings, I would highly recommend this property.

Did exactly what it said on the tin!

  • 5 of 5

This is an excellent family villa in a quiet and extremely pleasant location. The villa is well equipped. It is spacious, with a family friendly kitchen (though we made more use of the super BBQ), good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. There was access to a private pool, which was rarely busy and we spent a lot of time there.

There were some small local shops, but would strongly recommend that anyone booking this accommodation hires a car, as access to the beach and local supermarkets is distant. Palma is about 50 minutes away by car, but Cala D'or is barely 15 minutes drive.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation , Martin was extremely helpful, with good advice on local area.

Another wonderful holiday

This is our third visit to this property. The villa is clean and well equipped. The surrounding area is clean and quiet. Local good value restaurants are also a short drive away. Communal pool, is a hit with the children too.

Excellent quality in a central location.

Many thanks for allowing us to stay at your villa. It was tastefully furnished and very well equipped. We had several BBQs and enjoyed relaxing on the balcony taking the occasional shower to cool down - phew it was hot! The villa is ideally located to tour the east coast or towards Santanyi etc. we intend to return with friends or family.

Great stay

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the villa at the end of June 2015 and booked quite last minute. Martin (the owner) was very prompt at replying during all our correspondence. The description of the villa is accurate as are the pictures and the property is well maintained. The villa is well equipped (including the kitchen). Only problem we incurred was no welcome pack when we arrived but one phone call to the owner and this was quickly remedied.

Worth mentioning too is that we hired a car of the entire trip, I can't really imagine doing the trip without one.

The pool is nearby the villa and we used this most days, other reviewers mentioned the lack of sunbeds and whilst this is true the pool was never that busy when we were there so this wasn't a problem. Nearby beaches are all very nice as well but bear in mind that most are coves so if looking for long beaches you'll find these further up the coast. We ate out a few times in the local village which is very charming as well as Porto Cristo which we loved. The other nearby village Calles de Mallorca was not really to our taste (think English bars with Sky TV and cheap pints of Stella) but we only had to go there once for the pharmacy.

We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it.

cala murada villa

  • 5 of 5

my husband and i and our 9 yr old son enjoyed a week long holiday staying at the Lings family villa.

the villa was very clean, and tidy and very clearly looked after, the kitchen was well equiped down to plastic cups and plates, the welcome pack was excellent(beer and wine, fruit, bread, milk, water, cheese, ham.good selection of dvd's are left at the villa and also books.beds were very comfortable, and the aircon was much needed as weather was very hot,the garden area outside was nice (hammock),if it was my villa i would put in a small plunge pool :) as most of the garden area you dont use which is a shame. You have your own key to get into the shared pool area which is very near just across the road villa is in one of the best positions in regards to the pool, its very clean and tidy and plenty of room although not enough sunbeds (10) to go around (so get there before 10am) the pool area wasnt very busy its very peaceful which is lovely ( no music)etc. there is a club house only open until 6pm and closes each day for a siesta,it doesnt serve food or alcohol, but you can buy a coffee cans of drink and crisps and ice cream, and the lovely lady who works there speaks very good english! as area is prodominantly german. We didnt hire a car as we thought the beach and spa were only 10 mins walk away,oh boy we wished we had it was in fact a very long hot walk for 20 mins to the spa and then a further 7 mins to the nearest beach ,when carrying big bottles of water and bags back from the spa in the heat was a bit too much we did try to hire a car but they didnt have any left, and you cant get a taxi because they dont speak any english and also dont know the address of the new area of this development. The beach was nice and beach bar had great entertainment each night food was ok,the restaurant by the spa is good, the other restaurants are a further 10 min walk up from the beach the first one you pass is called Halali please go here food is excellent and the lady is lovely we ate here 3 times!! there are about another 4 restaurants and a bigger supermarket, bank, and doctors,El creole restaurant was another good one and also one further up called via bon.The better beach is a walk around the cliff wear something more than flip flops for this walk its well worth it its stunning ,if you then walk into local town you can get a taxi back home we took photos of our road signs to show the drivers lol but still they didnt know ( just gave directions). we had a fantastic holiday thank you x

From the Owner

We prefer the east coast of Majorca as it is very quiet, and in particular Cala Murada because although the village is 'open' all year round it never gets busy, the locals are all friendly and if you need more - entertainment, provisions, medical needs - nothing is too far away. We chose to buy new rather than old as we are not able to visit frequently and the up keep of a new build is much less than that of an older property. The east coast is famed for it's small secluded coves, which I love to seek out, a different one each day.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Palma de Mallorca at 60 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Cala Murada at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended

Pinars de Murada is located in the region of Calas de Majorca on the east coast of the island. This east coast consists of numerous coves and sandy beaches the closest of which is Cala Murada a 10 minute walk away. The beach shelves gently into the sea, sun beds and shades are available to hire on a daily basis, a life guard is on duty during high season and there is also a beach front restaurant offering snacks, meals and drinks.

Pinars de Murada is only a 50 minute (44 miles) car journey from the international airport in Palma. It is recommended that you hire a car to allow you to make the most of your holiday, and with all major car hire operators having a base in Palma airport pick up and drop off couldn't be easier. Since the opening of the newly constructed motorway leading from Palma to the east of the island, the journey is quick and straight forward.

Once in Murada you are in the ideal location for exploring the east coast. The renowned harbour of Portocristo is a 15 minute drive away and that is also were you will find the beautiful Caves of Drach. The charming fishing port of Porto Colom is 10 minutes south, this is were you will also find the stunning Val d'Or golf couse.

Further Details:

The good local supermarket is a 10 minute walkaway or 2 minutes in the car. The villa owners will ensure that provisions such as milk, bread, cheese, ham a selection of fruits together with bottled water, wine and beer are available on arrival. The village centre has all the services you would expect to find such as banks and restaurants. The resort is quiet and generally relaxed but if you want a more lively evenings entertainment then that is available in Cal d'Or approximately 20 minutes drive to the south. The neighbouring villages of Cales de Mallorca offer all the usual beach side services you would expect to see in a Spanish seaside town including many restaurants, bars, a night club and a small children's theme park open in the evenings. There is a bus service that operates regularly to Cala D'or, Antanyi and Palma and also a local taxi firm in the village. For families with children the excellent water parks of Aqualand and Aquacity are a 45 minute car journey away. From the local area are many things to do, including boat trips along the coast, horse riding, tennis and water sports. Fifteen minutes north by car is the stunning Caves of Drach with one of the largest underground lakes in the world, were concerts of classical music are performed daily.

From the Owner

Our home is approx 100 metres from the communal pool, a 3 min drive or 10 min walk from the local beach, has all the amenities you would expect to find in a modern home but does not lack in space. All the rooms have very high ceilings, each of the main living areas have their own individually controlled air conditioning. There is loads of storage in the house with double built-in cupboards in both bedrooms, and 2 more double built-in wardrobes at the bottom and top of the stairs. There are 2 local supermarkets with the one in the main village supplying fresh bread and pastries daily. During the day or night the area is very quiet. In the evening whilst eating supper on the terrace, the sky is so clear, the stars are so bright with the only sound being the chirp of crickets.
