Apartment in Lagos, Nr. Meia Praia, Western Algarve, Portugal. 8428/AL - Peaceful Location, Close To Meia Praia Beach, Lagos Marina And Palmares Golf Course. WiFi installed.

The apartment was built in 2004 by the Oceanico Group. Finished to a very high standard, it is within a gated, secure environment in attractively landscaped gardens. It is on the first floor, overlooking the swimming pool and gardens and with views from the balconies extending to the Monchique mountains. Around the pool are ample sun loungers and the restaurant/snack-bar is open every day except Monday from April until September. It is beautifully furnished and well equipped, the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in the sun. Its location is ideal for exploring the Western Algarve with its wonderful beaches and towns of historical interest. Distance from Lagos Marina is about 2km from where it iojhs a relatively short walk into the old town. Lagos is a cosmopolitan town, steeped in history and blessed with numerous quality restaurants and bars. Wi-Fi is installed in the apartment.

About the Owner

Chris and Judith Makepeace live in East Yorkshire and are now both retired. We bought the apartment in 2004 and have had some wonderful family holidays with our sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. We treat it as our second home enjoying the facilities of the resort as well as the attractions of Lagos and the Western Algarve. Golfing at the local courses, walking on the wonderful Meia Praia beach as well as the excellent bars and restaurants of Lagos keep enticing us back.

I just want to thank you for a wonderful stay at your apartment in Lagos, you certainly have the best unit in the whole complex! Apart from the location, the unit is beautifully appointed, it has everything you need to use inside. We truly enjoyed it.

I wanted to let you know we had a brilliant time in your beautiful apartment which is so well equipped. I think yours is perfectly situated for the best view over the pool area. It was very spacious, and just a really lovely place to return to at any time of day. It really was very lovely to stay there, and we all agreed it would be a place we would love to return there if the opportunity arises in the future.

We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed staying at your apartment – it really is very comfortable and well-equipped – you have thought about just about everything! We also liked the photos of you and Judith with what looked like your grand-children - these touches made the apartment extra homely and made us feel very welcome.

My wife, 2 kids (11 and 8) and I stayed here at the end of May and had an absolutely fabulous time. The apartment is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and has all the necessary mod cons.

The resort is gated so you don't have to worry about strangers wandering in and you can park your car in the basement which means it's nice and cool when you go to use it. Mostly, the other occupants of the resort were families and so the afternoon pool scene consisted of laughter and loud splashes as the children sought to out do each other in the water. There are plenty of sun loungers so you can choose to join in or just lie back and let them get on with it.

Destinos restaurant has a good range of yummy food (my favourite was the Hot and Spicy Chicken Wings). Drinks are reasonably priced, especially during the happy hours between 4:30 and 6:30.

Lagos is a nice little town with plenty of things to see and do, including a pretty marina. You should try to hire a car as there are some great places to visit in the region (Cape St. Vincent, Praia Dona Ana and, if you have kids with you, you've got to spend a day at the Slide & Splash waterpark). Meia Praia beach has some great little restaurants, perfect for either lunch or dinner. Both I and my 8 year old daughter can recommend the Special Prawns at Bar Quim.

How can I sum it up? We only went for a week, but wished we'd booked a fortnight. We'll definitely be back.

Wow. Thank you for letting us share your home for 9 days. My husband and I are in our 40's with a 2.5 yr old son.

The site was fantastic for my little one. The children's pool, the playground.

The food at the restaurant was excellent, very fresh and healthy.

The large pool was great for doing my daily lengths.

The beach with push chair 20 minutes walk.

The appartment beautiful on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool.

We had not been here before but are booking soon for next year.

You will not be disappointed it was lovely and the other holiday makers were also fab.

Fabulous apartment!

What a fabulous apartment and lovely small well maintained complex. The apartment had everything we needed and the balcony overlooking the pool enabled us to enjoy a cold beer whilst watching our children in the pool! Lagos is a lovely town which had no end of lovely restaurants and the dolphin trip was an unforgettable highlight of our holiday. The air conditioning made the nights very comfortable and parking under the building meant the car was cool for all our trips out. Meia Praia was fabulous along with the many smaller beaches further afield. It all made for a very enjoyable holiday. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely apartment and hopefully we will be back sometime soon!

We wanted a holiday home in a small condominium with high quality facilities and proximity to beach, town and countryside. The architecture and design of the resort were an immediate attraction and our views over the pool and gardens provide us with a prime position within the condominium.

Coast/Beach:

Meia Praia Beach is one of the longest in the Algarve and is about 15 to 20 minutes walk away but only 5 minutes by car. There are many other beautiful beaches within driving distance.

Travel:

Faro Airport is approximately 50 minutes away by car and is served by most UK airports. Car hire is recommended and contacts can be provided.

Distances:

Lagos 2km. Praia da Luz 8km. Portimao 15km.

There are many interesting places to visit including Cape St Vincent and Sagres which are about 40 minutes by car. Similarly, Silves and Monchique are also well worth a visit.

We are located on the outskirts of Lagos which is a wonderfully vibrant and interesting town. It's history and character provide a fabulous combination of ancient and modern. The apartment is of a good size comfortably sleeping 6. Guests have always commented that our apartment is the "best one" on the development because it overlooks the pool and gardens. Many of the others don't have the same outlook.

Other: The apartment benefits from a large, covered balcony that is accessed from both the lounge and kitchen via patio doors.
