Town House in Universal Area, Kato Paphos, Cyprus - Set In Tranquil Landscaped Gardens, Close To Harbour, Beaches, Old Town And Historical Sights

A stunning development, which was originally a Grapefruit Orchard, has been sensitively designed to retain many of the old Grapefruit trees.

There are two gorgeous pools. The larger one is 25x15m and features a central island garden. The smaller quieter pool is 15x7m, both benefit from paved surrounds with sun loungers and umbrellas. The well kept gardens and private grounds have green lawns, huge pines, cypresses, olive trees and flowering shrubs everywhere, providing a lovely tranquil space to relax and unwind.

The house benefits from a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and generous patio just a few steps from the pool. Perfect for an afternoon dip after enjoying lunch al fresco!

The main bedroom boasts a lovely view of the pool and gardens and provides a double bed, whilst the second bedroom provides 2 single beds.

A TV, DVD player and CD Player are also provided. There is no TV service to the property, but feel free to bring your own DVDs.

WIFI is available at an extra cost. Please ask for further details.

A 15 minute car journey from Paphos International Airport makes this a convenient base from which to explore the wonders which Cyprus has to offer. Steeped in history, you are never far away from fascinating monuments such as The Tomb of the Kings or the wonderful Mosaic World Heritage Site.

Paphos Harbour is only a 20 minute stroll or a short drive away, where you will find lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. There is also a shopping mall, banks and supermarkets. If you only need a few bits of shopping you will find 2 mini markets just a few minutes walk from the house, which sell all the main essentials.

There are 4 international Golf Courses close to hand, and Coral Bay Tourist Area is only a 12-15 minutes drive, where you can find a lovely sandy beach, watersports and horseriding. Or if you are feeling adventurous, head to Laatchi for a seafood platter and take a boat trip out to the Blue Lagoon, or visit Petra tou Romiou, the birthplace of Aphrodite herself!

About Elena Millard

Having visited Cyprus for the first time in 2004, I fell in love with the Island and the citrus grove full of Grapefruit trees. I immediately wanted a holiday home there. After two and a half years of building, Hesperides Gardens was completed and I took possession in June 2007. It was the best move I have ever made. All my friends and tenants that have rented my property agree it is a wonderful spot. The house is in a great position on an excellent development, being right by the largest pool on the island. You do not have to lock up to sunbathe and swim. You can put the kettle on and then just go for a dip whilst it is boiling! The private garden has its own grapefruit tree and is a joy to relax in, or just walk outside to the communal landscaped garden to relax by the pool.

The island has a magic all of its own. The sun shines nearly everyday in the year. The people are delightful and there are so many aspects of the island to investigate. You can never be bored in Cyprus. It is the most relaxing place I have ever been. My property is in a quiet position but walking distance to the local beach, harbour and old town. Pafos has everything to offer and is busy 12 months of the year unlike some other holiday venues.

What makes this house unique

The convenience of the property is particularly wonderful. It is situated in the heart of the development right by an enormous pool. The advantage to this is that you do not have to lock up and take all your belongings to go and swim and sunbathe. You can just walk out of your garden into the pool with the ability to see your home all the time. All your things are to hand, and this is a tremendous advantage, especially with a young family.

Paphos has several municipal beaches, about 5 to 10 minutes drive away, further afield towards Coral Bay there are also beautiful sandy beaches. A drive to Laatchi for a great seafood meal or to hire a boat is a must and about an hours drive over the mountains. There are lots of places to explore, especially the Akamus peninsula where turtles have been found and protected. Water sports and boat hire are also available.


Paphos Airport is approximately 15 minutes away

Larnaca Airport is now about a one and a half hour drive away on the super new motorway.


Near Paphos Harbour is the World Heritage site, with the best examples of mosaics - 5 minute drive. The Tombs of the Kings is a little further down the road. The Old town of Paphos is certainly worth a visit, with wonderful panoramic views and inexpensive restaurants - 5-10 minute drive, with municipal parking. At the harbour are the cafes and restaurants. A drive to Coral Bay will take half an hour, we mentioned Laatchi is a must. Polis is an hour over the mountains and well worth a visit.

Further Details:

Paphos is very relaxed and I have found it to be extremely safe. There are hundreds of restaurants 5 minutes drive away or a 20 minutes walk. A cab is around 4/5 Cyprus pounds to the harbour and no one could be keener to help than a Paphos cab driver. The lively night life is certainly there in the Street of the Bars, welcoming and close to the harbour. There is also the excellent Cypriot cuisine, sophisticated and extremely good value.

There are lots of cash points in Paphos and a convenience store 5 minutes walk from Hesperides which sells everything from bread to beer and wine.

Notes on accommodation: Suitable for children with strict supervision around the pool area. Strictly no smoking. All windows have lockable shutters and patio doors. Outside: A great deal of your time would probably be spent on the loungers around the excellent sized pools or in your self contained garden - in the summer the large umbrella shade is essential. The management of Hesperides Gardens is in the hands of the developer, and the pool area and common parts are cleaned daily by friendly staff. There is also 24 Hour Security Patrols. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: The house will be cleaned and ready for your arrival with linen and towels. Other: Patio doors lead onto private garden & patio area. Outdoor table & chairs with large sun umbrella. Beautifully planted garden includes an original grapefruit tree.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic complex

Just returned from a wonderful stay in Hesperides Gardens in Pafos. Veronica was extremely helpful from the point of booking right up to our arrival in her lovely apartment. We were driving from Larnaca and the directions to the property and access to it were excellent.

Inside the apartment is very clean with everything as described. We liked the bedrooms being on the 1st floor and our favourite part was the very short walk (3-4 steps!) to the pool.

The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable and relaxing - the air conditioning worked well which was a must in August.

The complex itself is well-maintained with plenty of loungers & umbrellas & lots of greenery & natural shade. Even though it was August, it wasn't busy and the majority of people staying seemed to be British families who return year after year.

We spent the majority of our holiday enjoying the sunshine by the pool whilst our sons played with all the other children. Four pm was always looked forward to when Rambo the ice-cream man pulled up next to the complex entrance - his milkshakes in all different flavours were the best!

It is a good 20 minute walk to the sea front and as we had a car we did tend to drive most evenings. Pafos is quite spread out so we enjoyed driving to different areas to eat and explore.

There is a lovely water park in Pafos which we thoroughly enjoyed plus we all played Foot Golf which was great fun.

Cyprus is a beautiful island and we so enjoyed our stay in Pafos that we are looking to return next year.

Booking the accommodation with the owner was very easy and she was very helpful in arranging dates.We had a return flight at 10pm and wanted to stay in the house until early evening which was great and meant we had a full final day. The properly was lovely, very clean and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and the dishwasher & washing machine made life very easy. The pool area and gardens were very nice and we always had a choice of sun loungers. The pool is large and has easy wide steps to get in. The location is in between the harbour and the old town. There is a bus into the harbour but we found it easier to walk. it took about 25 mins and 20 mins up to the old town. We would recommend a trendy popular restaurant in the old town called Muse. I had bbq pork fillets with mash potato and veg which was delicious. There is a fantastic view of Paphos and the sea from here,and the sunsets are wonderful. There are may restaurants in the harbour area, all of which had good menus. We ate at The Harbour(on the front opposite the bus station)and had a lovely meal. We hired bikes for 3 days which meant we could go further a field either way along the coast. We cycled to Coral Bay for the day,mainly on cycle path on the coast. We would definitely recommend a day cruise with Wavedancer to the Blue Lagoon with food and drink included. The kiosk is on the harbour front for bookings. We paid 60 euroos each but it was well worth it. Sunloungers on the deck and swimming in the crystal clear waters was fabulous. This is a holiday we would do again and we would stay at this accommodation again. We might hire a car next time to visit more areas.

Hesperides Gardens is safe, quiet, friendly and a great location! The main pool is big and beautiful with lovely planting providing great privacy! The long shallow steps going down into the water make for a perfect little 'baby/toddler' pool! The smaller pool at the front is perfect if you dont have children and prefer a bit more quiet time. Again plenty of lovely planting for privacy from the road. The location of Hesperides is perfect! Near by are two small convenience stores. They can be a bit more expensive but perfect for an emergency loaf or pint of milk. Just a short distance further along the road are several bigger shops and a bakery selling the best fruit, vegetables and delicious breads, cakes and savouries!

A short car journey (5-8 mins max) will then take you into the town where you can get to the bigger supermarkets.

The house is a beautiful two bedroom house with the garden opening directly on the the pool. We have stayed here three times and it has always been perfectly clean Lovely shower and bathroom and a kitchen well equipted with microwave and dishwasher.

A few restaurants worth a visit are Za Za's, Gourmet Tavern and

The Ribshack and the Mews! The main front/harbour is within walking distance but can take up to 20 mins.

The owner is the nicest lady and provides plenty of info re the house with local emergency contacts and keycodes. A car is recommended but not essential as they have a good local taxi service.

We has a fantastic 2 weeks here. The price was just right and after final payment was made the owner provided excellent directions and instructions. The house is a 2 bedroom. 1 room with twin beds and ample storage and the other with a double again with ample storage and hair dryer. All bed were very comfortable and clean linen provided. The bathroom is well equipped and has a power shower over bath. Both bedrooms and living area downstairs have independent air conditioning. Downstairs is a small bathroom, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, oven, extractor, fridge freezer. The dining / living area has 2 comfortable sofas, table and chairs, coffee table, book case with books to choose from, TV, DVD and satellite TV although the choice of English speaking channels is poor. If travelling with children make sure you take DVD's as there are no children's channels available. That said it was nice to see my kids realise there is more to enjoying spare time than watching rubbish on TV! The terrace comprises of a beautiful sun trap surrounded with lovely flowers and grapefruit trees, outdoor dining furniture and umbrella are provided. At the end of the path is the pool area. This house has the best position out of all other properties at Hesperides Gardens, available to you right outside your door is a huge pool area. The pool has gradual steps sloping into the shallow end right outside the house making great for keeping and eye on the children. Cleaners tidy the pool area each weekday morning. Regular friendly security patrols take place throughout the day, ample sun beds and umbrellas are available. Unlike a hotel holiday there is no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put a towel on sunbeds. Most of the time we has the pool area to ourselves! The pool itself is huge and excellent for swimming and safe for children to play in but does not have lifeguards as this is predominantly a residential / holiday let complex. Toilets are available at the pool area. We did think that a few of the locals were popping in from time to time to use the private pool facilities sometimes but we can't prove it and to be honest it didn't disrupt up anyway. I believe if you have children you would benefit from a hire car, especially in the warm season. Local shops are close but expensive, a car trip will take you to cheaper larger supermarkets. The house is delightful and spotless, we had a fantastic time and would recommend to anyone!

As Daniel says, the beautiful pool immediately outside my garden makes for a relaxing holiday, especially with children, as no need to pack any belongings to sit by the pool. Great holiday

Booking with this owner was excellent, as they provided all the information we needed and everything regarding staying at the property was perfect.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. The complex that this house rests within, was very quiet in late March when we arrived. The weather was a lovely 22 degrees most days and we enjoyed the morning sun by the pool before heading off to explore Paphos and the rest of the island.

The house has a double and a twin room, a large lounge and was not too far from town. The house is located in a quiet area away from the main tourist area, Kato Paphos. It is a fair walk into Kato Paphos, and renting a car is advisable for a few days at least if you want to make the most of your visit.

The owner has kept many maps and pamphlets for visitors to help plan day trips.

Everything was clean, the pool was nice and we were very entertained by the grapefruit landing with a thud, when ripe ones fell from the trees! Breakfast and evenings on the patio were lovely.

For a great little Taverna head to Emba, then follow signs for "traditional taverna". We had a great meze for 15 Euros Each, if you are looking for the authentic local experience I would recommend seeking it out - nice sociable owners, great food.

A Fabulous Holiday !

The complex was lush and green with fruit trees throughout the gardens. It was very relaxing to sit around the massive infinity pool. The house was as described on Owners Direct. The owner was very helpful throughout the booking process and the property was a home from home. The transfer was short from Paphos Airport and the location was perfect for us. Close enough to Restaurants and Bars and great for visiting local attractions. The weather was perfect.
