The villa opens into the lounge/dining area. To the right is the main bedroom with twin beds and en suite bathroom. The second twin bedroom is to the left and adjacent to it is a toilet and shower room. To the back of the lounge is a galley style kitchen which is fully equipped with cooker top and oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster coffee percolator and electric kettle. A washing machine is housed in a small casetta to the rear of the property. Hot water is constantly available, supplied by an outside Calor heated boiler.
The villas with terraces and independent heated pools are in a quiet area of Cala'n Porter but easily accessible to restaurants and shops. They are within walking distance to a sandy beach and paved promenade with cafes. The Capitol Mahon is 10km away. The swimming pools vary in size but are on average 38 square metres, private & can be heated in the early and late season and have pool covers. They are surrounded by paved patios which are furnished with loungers and sunshades.
Alan and I are retired general medical practitioners. We live in Scotland and have been enjoying family holidays in Menorca since 1973.
Sheena Smith purchased this villa in 1980
On our first visit to the island we simply fell in love with its peace and tranquility and enquired about purchasing a plot on which to build. That villa - Villa Arran - was not completed until 1980 but within a few years we wanted the pleasure af a swimming pool and so purchased the adjacent property which had ground attached and would allow us to build another villa with a pool situated centrally. This provided an opportunity for many happy family holidays and many friendships have been made as a result. In recent years, however, holiday makers prefer their own private swimming pools and so since 2006, to meet this need, the villas have been separated and a heated pool built in each.
By booking our villas, families wishing to holiday together, can have their own villa with a pool and privacy but still be near to their friends.
On booking the villa a deposit of £200 per week is payable. The balance is then due 8 weeks before departure.
If pool heating is requested (usually required May, June, September & October) there is an additional fee of £60/week
Hire of cot is £25/week and high chair 15/week.
Changeover day is Saturday for Villa Bute, Villa Arran and Villa Iona. Alternatives may be considered for early season. Clients are asked not to expect entry until 2.00pm and to vacate the villa by 10.00am on departure.
Notes on prices:
Additional Costs in 2015 will be: Pool heating £70/week
Cot hire £25/week
High chair hire £15/week
Very relaxing and very quiet area. If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Although not far from the village centre if you have walking difficulties better to hire a car. A taxi from the airport cost 20 euros and the same back to the airport. A most enjoyable experience of Villa Bute. Thank you both. Hopefully we will be returning next year.
Had a wondefull stay in Villa Bute, set in a lovely garden with an abundance of flowers, housekeeping and pool guy excelent. No problems.
Had the most peacfull holiday in an upmarket villa. Thank you Allan and sheena.

Just got back from an 11night stay at villa Bute feeling totally refreshed,if you want peace and quiet with a lovely pool and villa then this is for you. At times all you could hear is the occasional buzz of the local insects whilst lying by the pool ,heaven, the villa has everything you might need to enjoy your stay and only 15 min taxi from the airport (19 euros cost)and 10 min stroll to the town and 5min from the main cave attraction on the island. The only real disappointment was the lack of the main English tv channels, being sports fans we were looking forward to watching the commonwealth games.Alan and Sheena were great to deal with and Sarah on the island will take care of linen and towel changes for you. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and a couple of supermarkets,I would totally recommend this property .
Our first holiday with our 9 month old son. We chose Menorca because of the short flight duration and British influence making it a safe choice.
Alan and Sheena were very nice to deal with and had no problems answering any of our questions. The Villa was a short easy 15 minute drive from the airport. The one way system in Calan Porter is a bit tricky but you soon get the hang of it. The villa was fairly easy to find and had a drive way although there is tons of on road parking.
The villa was very clean and a nice size for the three of us. The Kitchen was modern and well equipped with everything we needed. The property has two bathrooms which was handy as when our son was sleeping in the room with the ensuite we used the other bathroom.
The pool was huge! much bigger than we expected and lovely and warm. There are lots of sun loungers around the property and the barbecue was nice and clean.
The resort is fine if a little beige but the beach is lovely. There are three supermarkets which although a little more expensive than the larger ones in town are fine. We liked the binipreu by the airport.
