Designed to offer a very well equipped and modern home. Peaceful and tranquil, set in stunning countryside. Finca de las Rosas sleeps 8, has its own private pool, BBQ, air-conditioning, open fire and underfloor heating that adds up to offering all year round comfortable holiday accommodation. The villa benefits from easy access to the resorts of the Costa del Sol and the inland destination of Rhonda, Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and the Sierra Nevada. Andalucia is a year round travel destination and the area surrounding Alora is especially suited to those seeking to explore the natural parks of El Chorro, Torcal and Ardales (the Malaga lake district). Wildlife is in abundance and landscapes are as dramatic as they are diverse. For those looking for adventure we recommend taking advantage of the opportunities offered by local businesses to spend a day horse riding, rock climbing, mountain biking or hill walking.

We designed the villa ourselves after purchasing this magnificent plot of land after searching for some years for the ideal location. It was important that we had good access to local amenities but had the benefit of rural living. Our aim was to build a very contemporary home on this stunning rustic plot to bring together this rather unusual combination for this area of modern 21st living on a traditional and very rustic Andalusian setting.

We were so happy with the end result and our guests have always remarked on the house and its beautiful location. The large covered terrace is essential to enjoy alfresco dining or simply relaxing and soaking up the ambience. Expect a visit from the shepherd and is goats on a daily basis - don't worry you will know they are coming by their bells!

If you are looking for a fast lane holiday Finca Las Rosas probably will not be the property for you. Our goal was to create a haven for total relaxation away from the every day distractions of modern life but with the convenience of access to beaches and a fast tract day or two if required. All in all we are certain you will love your time at Finca las Rosas, the surrounding local area, the lovely friendly people and the simplicity if a "real Spain" experience.

Phillip and Julie Ilic designed and built Finca Las Rosas and lived in it before returning to the UK in 2008. We run a property managing and letting agency in Bath and although no booking of our Villa comes under the regulation of the following organisations Phillip is a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and our agency is licensed by the National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS).

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a rural 'real Spain' location look no further. This is family accommodation that can sleep up to 8 adults comfortably. Set in the beautiful Andalucian countryside on 9 acres of private land Finca Las Rosas has excellent access to the local towns of Alora, Pizarra and Cartama. Malaga is a 30km easy drive away or by train from Alora or Pizarra. Likewise the bustling beaches of the Costa del Sol are equally as easily accessible.

What makes this villa unique

Although secluded and very private set on this very rustic plot Finca Las Rosas has been designed and built to very high specifications and offers an unusual contrast and when coupled together this contrast is quite unique to the area. The Villa is set in an elevated yet very accessible position with very diverse views. The nearby towns are well equipped but still retain a very traditional ambience that is so diminishing now in other areas if Andalucía .

Notes on accommodation: Finca Las Rosas was designed and built to create modern contemporary living with large spacious areas, a fabulous kitchen/breakfast room, comfortable bedrooms - each with their own outside terrace. The front of the villa has a large covered terrace to enjoy shaded alfresco dining or relaxing during the hot summer months. The rear is a sheltered sunny open terrace to enjoy the winter sunshine – making the most of Southern Spain ’s year round sunshine. The villa offers all year round accommodation including air-conditioning for the summer and underfloor heating for the chilly winter nights (yes Andalucia can be very cold during winter). An open log fire, although not required as a form of heating, does make this property especially cosy in those cooler winter months. The outside has been designed with simplicity offering you the opportunity to relax and simply enjoy the outstanding country views and the clean fresh air. A cot and high chair can be provided if required. Outside: Immediately outside is an 8 x 4m swimming pool (2 metre deep end) with shower/changing and toilet rooms. A gas fire BBQ. 9 acres of private land with mixed grassland and olive trees. Finca de las Rosas also has fantastic views a 300m private driveway and ample parking. Wild life is in abundance including game birds, birds of prey (eagles and buzzards) and the odd chameleon! Local farmers graze cattle and goat herders daily wander through the hill sides with their herd, bells lazily jangling. A very quiet peaceful pace of life, yet access to the local traditional Spanish towns of Alora and Pizarra with all amenities including bakeries and fishmongers and a very well stocked supermarket are less than a 10 minute drive away. Access to the main road, again less than a 10 minute drive, easily takes you to Malaga, the airport, Costa del Sol and Marbella in well under an hour. Utility Room: Large capacity hot water heater, washing machine, drinks fridge, iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen is provided. A weekly change of linen and clean through for stays longer than a week can be arranged at an additional cost.

Stunning villa ideal to rest and unwind

We spent an idyllic, restful few days at Finca Del Rosa. A stunning,spacious,well appointed villa which is beautifully clean and maintained to an exceptional standard.

Situated in a quiet rural area, a short drive from the lovely town of Alora, this s a great place to relax and unwind. The panoramic views of the mountains are enchanting.

Excellent information was provided prior to arrival and on arrival at Finca Del Rosa.

Would recommend for sightseers (The Kings Bridge is a must), walkers and families.

Peace and quite with beautiful views

We spent 5 weeks at Finca Del Rosa enjoying a relaxing holiday. It is an amazing Villa,impeccably clean,spacious,comfortable,well equipped with fabulous uninterrupted views of the mountains. Situated in a quiet secluded area,but only a short drive to local pubs,restaurants,villages. We had a great holiday experience ably assisted by Brian - the owners representative who gave us great advice from where to buy the best meat for the barbecue to easy to understand instructions and maps for driving to places of interest.Would like to return in the future.

Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Malaga, Marbella, Nerja, Costa la Luz offer a range of beaches from the deserted to the crowded. Cabopino is one of several naturist beaches. The nearest beaches of the Costa del Sol 45 minutes.


Malaga Airport is approximately 45 minutes drive away. Granada airport under 1.5 hours. A hire car is essential although Alora has its own train station that links direct to Malaga from where trains can be changed for all destinations - Granada, Sevilla etc.


Alora, Pizarra, Cartama is less than a 10 minute drive, Malaga under 45 minutes, Marbella under an hour, Granada 1.5 hours, Sevilla 2 hours.

Our website gives a lot of information about the area our villa and things to do. Alora is a friendly and traditional Spanish town making a refreshing change from the heavily populated coastal resorts. It has a number of fiestas throughout the year including spectacular Easter processions. Alora has a selection of restaurants, tapas bars, an open air public swimming pool, theatre and railway station.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing and very comfortable holiday villa that allows easy access to discover the diverse attractions that Andalucia has to offer from sleepy traditional Spanish Pueblos to the more cosmopolitan cities the Finca de las Rosas would be very hard to rival.

Booking Notes:
This is a non smoking villa. Sorry no pets. On confirmation of a booking we take a 30% deposit with the full balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. We accept cheque, bank transfer, credit card via PayPal and Paypal. If using PayPal the 3.5% surcharge will be passed onto you. We also require a £350 deposit to cover damage which is returned within 14 days of the end of your stay. In the winter months a contribution towards the heating oil (if required) will be agreed before a reservation is taken.

Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover day is a Saturday but we are flexible out of season. Arrival and departure times during sociable hours for key hand over.

30% deposit required on reservation. Full balance to be paid not less than 56 days before start of booking. Prices subject to change without notice

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
