Lovingly Restored and Luxuriously Appointed Stone Bastide with Heated Pool

Updated: 21-Oct-2016
Stone Bastide in St Antonin, Nr. Lorgues, Provence - Secluded Location, Walking Distance To Small Village

Large stone bastide, lovingly restored and luxuriously appointed, with landscaped grounds of 1 hectare. Near Lorgues in the unspoilt Var region of Provence. Panoramic views over glorious Provencal countryside. Five double bedrooms (king-size beds or twins), each with en-suite bathroom make this an ideal property for friends or families. A huge heated swimming pool, terraces to dine on, full Sky+ TV, extensive DVD & CD library and Wi-Fi throughout the house means even the teenagers won't be bored! One hour from the airports of Nice and Marseilles. Medieval Lorgues, famous for its weekly market, has good restaurants and shops and is 6km. The village of St Antonin, a short walk (950m) away, has a boulangerie, a well appointed shop and a bar/restaurant. Charming villages such as Salernes, Villecroze, Tourtour and Cotignac are nearby. This house is a home (not a holiday house!) and almost every guest has commented on how comfortable the beds are, the quality of the linen, and how well equipped it is. More than 80% of our guests rebook for the next year!

Patric our gardien looks after the garden and the pool and lives in the cottage at the gates to the property. He is here to help with any problems you may encounter. Maggie our housekeeper comes in at least twice a week for 6 hours to tidy up and can come more often if wished.

Guestbook comments from the owner

'Everything was perfect - lots of wonderful comments from everyone about the comfortable beds and superb linen.' Mrs DB, Sussex

'Thank you so much for everything you did to make the holiday such a success and letting us use your beautiful house. Everyone who came adored it and you really have thought of everything. Thank you for the lovely flowers in the hall on our arrival and all the other touches.' M & T Buxton, London

'Terrific kitchen with all the equipment you could dream of - beautiful garden with lots of different places to sit and look and read and drink and eat.' Jane G.

'We have just spent 2 wonderful weeks at 'Les Hauts Saints' in Provence with our family. The house and gardens were beautiful, and the pool spectacular. The weather, too, was perfect: 30 C every day for two weeks. Maggi (the cleaner) and Daniel (the caretaker) were both delightful, and only too willing to help in every way. Thanks again.' If only all villas were like this!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the beautiful Les Hautes Saints earlier in June for a family wedding in the area. We could not have picked a better villa. The villa is as gorgeous as the photos suggest with so many little areas for people of all ages to spend time in. From the beautifully appointed living room that instantly feels so homely you want to snooze on the couches, to the picture perfect terrace off the kitchen for breakfast to the pool area for relaxing and some lunch to the courtyard for an afternoon tea or g&t! On top of all that the location is perfect, away from it all but at the same time the village is a short stroll away for fresh bread, croissants and supplies (as well as some local wineries!).

We only wish we could have stayed for another week. Hopefully we will be back soon!

A Heavenly Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Les Hauts Saints provides the most perfect setting for a dream provencal holiday. This beautiful farmhouse is exquisitely furnished in every way - its a very well run family home. Beautiful accomodation and facilities - from luxurious beds right down to the perfect coffee maker. So many places to relax or enjoy family meal times - by the pool, in the trees, on the patio. The perfect snug out of the sun to watch some tv or enjoy some films. An amazing fridge - for the children to enjoy endless ice and the biggest freezer. A music system and access to the most amazing range of music to suit all tastes - open the sitting room windows and enjoy Puccini as you feast on a truly French breakfast. The Boulangerie is a wonderful 7 minute walk down to the village - one of my favourite moments in the day. The village shop has everything you could need in terms of basics and a few treats too and lots of international papers. The swimming pool is perfect and the sun loungers so comfortable that sometimes its a struggle to leave them. And what makes this house a true farmhouse is the fresh eggs from the chickens every morning! If you have a young family they will certainly enjoy caring for the tortoises. This house has something for everyone - let the teenagers hide away in one of the many bedrooms - out of sight and sound. They may even be coaxed down to the tennis courts in the village. Family outings down to the beach at Ste Maxime with lunch at Le Wyc are just a 45 minute drive away. Kayaking and pedaloes up at the Gorges are 45 minutes away in the other direction. Both provide endless fun for everybody. So many restaurants to enjoy close by - Bruno to name just one. Lots of villages to explore - Flayosc, Villecroze, Lorgues.

This perfect holiday is made even more perfect by the wonderful housekeeper Maggie - you can use Maggie as much or as little as you like. She is a wonderful cook and babysitter and nothing is too much trouble.

I can't find one fault with this holiday house nor with the welcome and kindness from the owners. My young children were greeted with open arms - and even though they are now just a little older - they view this as the best holiday in the world and where they most want to be.

We will be back time and time again and are truly lucky to have found this small piece of paradise on earth.

Exceptional villa

  • 5 of 5

This 5 bedroom villa is beautifully presented, the owners have put in a proper size pool which easily accommodates all guests without feeling tight. The villa is set on a private road and is quiet, but is still close enough to walk to St Antonin Du Var for the bakery or the local hotel where the food is excellent.

Each bedroom is well located to afford privacy, with two bedrooms sharing a connecting door which is ideal for families with young children. The bed linen is crisp, clean and the housekeeper Maggie is extremely efficient and friendly and does a superb job.

We have booked up Les Haut Saints again for summer 2014 which will be our third consecutive summer !
