Villa in Pollensa, Mallorca, Balearic Islands - A Very Private Villa Set in 3 Acres between Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca

The property is set in 3 acres of grounds in the countryside between Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca, and is ideal for the larger family wanting privacy and peace and quiet. The accommodation is split between the main house and a guest annex, it comprises of 4 bedrooms (2 with dressing rooms), 4 bathrooms (3 en-suite), a large lounge, a separate large dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The house is centrally heated for autumn/winter stays and a log stove in the lounge provides additional warmth during the winter months. Outside there is a covered terrace for outdoor dining, a barbecue area, a 12m x 6m pool with Roman steps to the shallow end and enough space to wear out the most energetic of children. The gardens are extremely well stocked, and to the side of the property there is an orange and lemon grove. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer.

We thought the villa was the best we have stayed in in Pollenca and the annex was perfect for Chris and I to slightly distance ourselves from the young grand children, as much as we love them of course' Mr & Mrs C, Cheshire

Coast/Beach:

The beach of Puerto Pollenca is a 10 minute drive from the property and is one of the best beaches on the island. Its shallow waters and the protection of the bay make it ideal for children. Windsurfing, sailing, volleyball, diving and canooing are all available.

Travel:

The airport in Palma is some 50km to the south of Pollenca and is approximately a 1 hour drive.

The use of a car is essential.

Distances:

The property is located between the town of Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca. Both are approximately a 10 mins drive or a 30 mins bike ride.

Both Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca have numerous shops and restaurants and there is a supermarket on the main road into the port approximately 10 mins drive from the property.

Further Details:

Tennis facilities can be found both within Puerto Pollenca (at the Habitat Apartments on the road into the port) or at the municipal leisure complex in Pollenca, which can be found opposite the main school.

The area is ideal for cycling and bikes can be hired in the port.

Notes on accommodation: The property is ideally suited for the larger family or 2 families wishing to holiday together. It is very suitable for children, with lots of outdoor space and wide Roman steps into the shallow end of the pool. Outside: Set in 3 acres of land the property offers complete seclusion. Directly adjacent to the kitchen is the terraced eating and seating area which is covered and shaded by campsis and bougenvilla. In addition there are a further 300 sq.m. of terraced area leading to the large 12m x 6m swimming pool, with ample seating and lounger facilities. There is a large stone barbecue. Adjacent to the annexe is a large lawned area and the covered terrace that surrounds the annexe is shaded by bougenvilla and again provides ample seating. The gardens are well stocked with plants, orange, lemon, and olive trees, and to the rear of the property is an olive, lemon, and orange grove. Outdoor lighting for the terrace areas is available for the evenings. Utility Room: The utility room is situated next to the garage to the rear of the property and houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and a second fridge/freezer should it be needed. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath towels and linen are provided and maid service is provided upon day of arrival and day of departure except for longer stays where it will normally be twice a week (including the day of arrival and departure).

Great place to holiday, private and spacious as described

Planned as a surprise for my wife's birthday with a gathering of friends from different parts of Europe, it did not disappoint.

A well equipped villa in a wonderfully quiet and private location . Comfortably furnished and well decorated. Spacious gardens and barbecue area with a large clean pool .

The terrace is a great place to gather for afternoon drinks, lunch and evening meals.

Shopping not an issue with well stocked supermarkets nearby.

Mike is a great guy to deal with and is always helpful.

Will definitely come back again sometime in the future.

Fab holiday, lovely house

We had a fabulous time here. The house was as described - well furnished and fitted out, very spacious for our party of 7 (the annex was a godsend), private and quiet, and the gardens and pool were superb.

Plenty of shaded outdoor areas to sit, lie and eat made leaving the house (other than to shop) unnecessary.

There's no wifi - which was great as we got our kids back for a couple of weeks and once they got over the shock of being 'unconnected' they relaxed and started to realise the world will carry on without facebook and instagram!

Mike and Bev (the owners) were great and arranged for some shopping to be done for us as we arrived very late at night. All in all a wonderful family holiday in a lovely house. We'd love to go back.

Great place for a family holiday

We had a fab time (again) at this house. There were 8 in our party spanning three generations and the house is spacious enough to accommodate us easily and the annex is great for a little bit of privacy for Mum and Dad.

The grounds are beautiful, very well kept and have plenty of room for the kids to run themselves to exhaustion. The pool and terrace that surrounds it is a great place to chill out on the sunbeds and the outdoor eating areas were great for enjoying the bbq and early evening drinks.

The 3 main bedrooms are super large and well furnished and each has an en-suite bathroom. The twin bedroom was great for the kids.

This is a wonderfully private house, very quiet and very much as described with very helpful owners. We had a great holiday we'd love to come again.

Superb - as always

There were 7 in our part this time - 4 adults, including my Mum and Dad, and 3 children.

We've stayed here many times over the last 10 years and have never had a poor experience. The house is as described with good quality furnishings and ample space to accommodate us - the annex is great for my parents who get a bit of privacy when they want it.

The house is very private and quiet and the grounds and pool are stunning - a proper pool that you can swim in and crystal clean water with plenty of terraces and sun beds around it.

There's an enormous bbq and the outdoor eating areas are great.

The owners are always very helpful and we'll definitely be going again.

Shabby, suffering from lack of investment

We have had lots of holidays in this area over many years and paying top rates for a special week with the family we were all excited by the prospect having read the reviews.

Our expectatations were well and truly dashed on arrival as this finca is on balance a big disappointment. The kitchen is grubby and dirty and well past its sell by date as are the tired bathrooms. The power fails in a rainstorm and even though the owners warn you of this they have done nothing to put it right. The roof in the sitting room leaks and we had to put pots in place to catch water dripping through. The walls in our bedroom were damp and some sockets were loose.

I am terminally ill and we made the mistake of choosing this as somewhere to spend our time having a week to remember. Yes it will be remembered but for all the wrong reasons.

Not even a sign at the end of a long driveway to guide you to the property.

Owner's Response: Dear Alison, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and both my wife and I were disappointed that you had such a bad stay at our home. We were also very surprised by your comments which are in stark contrast to those left by others who have stayed at the house. The kitchen and appliances were replaced two years ago and the dishwasher was replaced this year in May - I am sorry they didn't meet your expectations. We have never had any complaints about the cleanliness of the house. The bathroom to the master bedroom was refurbished in January of this year - again I am sorry that it didn't meet your expectations. Neither my wife or I are aware of either the leaky roof in the lounge nor damp in any of the bedrooms and none were present on our last visit to the house, though should a problem have developed then these will be rectified. At the entrance to the property there are two stone pillars which support the gates to the property and grounds - both these have ceramic plaques in laid into them which clearly identify the house as Can Gato. Again we have never had anyone raise being able to find the house as an issue though we do accept that it is in a very private location. We are really sorry that the house failed to meet your expectations and that you and your family had such a poor stay. Mike Ryan

This is a gem

We had a fabulous time. This is a lovely Villa in a very private location, you really do feel that you’re ‘away from it all’ despite being only a short drive from either Puerto Pollensa or Pollensa village. It’s very spacious with high quality furnishings both inside and outside and has a beautiful, well kept garden. The pool is also a cracker.

With x4 kids, lack of wi-fi was a thought, but you can get reasonable phone reception although the quality of data signal isn’t quite good enough enough for reliable streaming - but the accessing the basics is fine.

Although we had unexpected issue during our stay with a temporary loss in water supply to the villa, this was dealt with and fixed as promptly as it possibly could be by Mike’s support team in Mallorca who were absolutely first class - as was Mike himself.
