Originally a farmhouse that was built in 1869, and renovated to a high standard, it is perfectly suited to large family holidays as well as small groups. It has a spacious ground floor and the 3 bath/shower-rooms are always appreciated. It is available for self-catering rental throughout the year with a wood-burning stove with log supply available to use on those colder occasions to supplement the normal heating. The garden is large and has plenty of lawns and areas for children to play safely, the small wooded area being a favourite.

Le Rez, also known as Le Ray, is a small collection of houses surrounded by fields. It is only a short walk to the sleepy village of Buléon with it's shop, restaurant and bars. The picturesque market town of Josselin with its Chateau, interesting town centre, boat and kayak trips, is the closest supermarket stop just a 10 minute drive away. The coast is 35 minutes drive.

This property was bought as something of an adventure. Although it was uninhabitable at the time, it's potential and charm made it an easy choice. Originally one property with doors leading from the house into the barn, it is now divided into two. My brother Alastair lives in the converted barn and looks after the gite.

First visit to Le Rez. Beautiful area! Really enjoyed visiting lots of different Chateau and towns. Recommend a visit to Josselin, quaint little town. House is perfect for our sized family, Grandparents, parents and children. Kitchen is good size, BBQ lovely extra and upstairs shower is amazing. The Pinsents.

Outside: There is parking for several cars close to the house with direct access to the door of the house for loading and unloading of luggage. The patio area provides a convenient area for sitting and eating outside which has 2 large picnic tables and a fixed barbecue. There are upright seats and a bench in the garden as well. Along-side the patio and extending around the parking areas are the borders of shrubs with lawns beyond. There is also an area of trees which children usually enjoy playing amongst. The garden provides plenty of space for children to play well away from any roads as the house is accessed by a very long driveway. There is separate area of grass next to the garden, a safe distance from the house where a football can be kicked around and other ball games played. The garden is bordered by an orchard and fields. Utility Room: Automatic washer-tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Duvets and covers are provided within the letting price. A full linen service can be provided that includes towels, tea-towels, sheets, and pillow cases. The price ranges is £20 - £52 depending on numbers. Other: The ground and first floors both have beamed ceilings whilst the 2nd floor has exposed 'A' frames. Each room has electric heating.

Quiet & tranquil bolthole

The accommodation was clean, tidy, well equipped and working well.

First floor had the main double bedroom, with a further bedroom, with 3 single beds and a separate bathroom, 2nd floor has 3 separate bedrooms with single beds and a shower/toilet. Downstairs is open plan, kitchen one end, dining area in middle and lounge at opposite end.

Property could easily cope with a party of 10. More than sufficient equipment is provided.

The house is located as a distinct property in its own grounds, but as part of a farm, it is extremely quiet and the overall site is relatively remote, and certainly very quiet. But you do have some sheep grazing in the adjacent field.

Local shop and a bar, (potentiality a restaurant, but we never found it open) brisk 10 minute walk, but please be aware it does not stock a vast amount, and the morning Croissants need to be purchased early, certainly before our 9 .a.m. arrival !!!

Cosy Rustic Farmhouse in a rural area

The property was clean and fully kitted for our stay. It was a nice touch having UK satellite TV. The WiFi was good but only hic up was we never wrote down the code before we arrived.

We ate out evenings nearby and the app helped in finding places to eat and get provisions saved us a lot of leg work. The local guides were helpful plus we added to them with a few of our favourite places. Highly recommended this Gite if you enjoy a more rural location next to a farm and animals.

Beautiful Britanny Beautiful Countryside

This Gite is a traditional French building very well equipped, furnished, clean and well maintained. We have stayed here on several occasions at different times of the year with friends, family and my partner. It can sleep up to 9 people I think, but is still cosy with just 2 of you. The kitchen is fully furnished for those who wish to self cater, with a dish washer as well as a washing machine and other equipment in the utility room. Plus there is an outside granite built bbq and a wood burning stove in the lounge.

The Gite is a short walk away from the neighbouring village which had 2 bars, a small shop/supermarket, church and a restaurant.

The picturesque historical town of Josselin is a short drive away, with numerous bars and restaurants and a Saturday market.

We found the location suited us well to explore the central and southern parts of Britanny, with Vannes and Quiberon worth exploring for those who are prepared to travel a little further a field.

There are local markets in neighbouring villages nearly every day of the week, which really give a flavour of the French country way of lifestyle.

The owner is on hand, if you wish for more information and we also found the comprehensive folder of information in the Gite very useful.

Yes we would recommend it and I guess it wont be long before we make a return visit. Peace and tranquillity:)

Beautiful Britanny Beautiful Countryside

I have stayed here on several occasions at different times of the year with groups of friends and family and also just with my partner. Although the property comfortably sleeps up to 9 , it still feels cosy with just 2 people. The Gite is comfortable, furnished to a high quality and is clean throughout. It has excellent kitchen facilities, with a bbq and wood burning stove for those who want to self cater. The next village is within walking distance and has 2 bars a shop, a restaurant and a church. The historical town of Josselin is close by which has numerous restaurants, bars and a Saturday market.

We really have found the Gite an excellent place to explore mid and southern Brittany. There are several markets in near bye villages throughout the week and lovely places to explore for those who wish to travel a little further away to the south coast. Vannes and Quiberon spring to mind. There is a very useful information folder in the property and the owner is on hand should you wish to ask for advice of further information. I believe the building used to be a Nunnery - so there is a history about the place. Would I return back there?....I have done so several times.

Fermette rustic et calme

La fermette était très bien équipée. Très calme, rustic et confortable. Internet et la télévision fonctionnait très bien. Très satisfait du logement.

Les supermarchés sont assez proche (environ 15 min) par la national à Josselin.

Pour les activités, il y pas mal de chose mais à toujours 15-30 min de route minimum. Josselin est une très jolie ville avec de bon restau. Vannes également, Dinan un peu plus au Nord. La forêt de Brocéliande n'est pas très loin non plus.

Un lieu parfait pour se ressourcer en famille ou entre amis.
