Morillon Les Esserts is a small village of modern apartment blocks on the ski slopes accessed by a modern road which is regularly snow ploughed and gritted. There is a large free public car park and all the facilities you need for your holiday are on the doorstep - well stocked Sherpa supermarket, bakery, ski hire shops, lift pass office, ski school, creche, restaurants and pub. The large, spacious and airy big apartment (82 sq m) is on the top 4th floor, accessible by lift, and has a SW balcony and aspect - a special feature is the double height sitting room with a wood burning stove. The hi-spec mid-sized (55 sq m) apartment faces onto the pistes with a great view. The comfortable and cosy little apartment (25 sq m) faces north east and has spectacular views of the mountains at the end of the valley. In summer Les Esserts transforms into an attractive summer location for mountain biking, walking, swimming, rafting, horse riding, tennis, parascending, golf and sightseeing.
We are Anne-Marie and Graham Lush who have had an apartment in Morillon Les Esserts since 1987, so coming up for 30 years. Our children started skiing here aged 2 and 5. The whole family look on Les Esserts as our second home! We retired in 2008 and are sharing our time between the ski season in Les Esserts, sailing in Greece and going back home to be with our family, including our lovely grand daughters.

The story of how we came to buy our first apartment is too long for this space! It involves a hired apartment the previous year, no one to meet us, a night in the car with small children, helpful people at an apartment builder's sales office (nothing to do with the people letting the apartment to us) getting the door broken into, a new lock fitted, having a lovely holiday despite the unpromising start, delivering chocolates to say thank you, picking up some sales literature out of politeness... then buying off plan from home... so that we would always have keys to get in! We didn't once, but that's another story! We and our family and friends love the Les Esserts ski resort, being able to ski to the door, and that it is small and friendly but part of the large Grand Massif ski area.
The best things about our apartments, apart from them being modern, tastefully decorated, fully equipped and well looked after, is that they are very conveniently located - next to the ski slopes and ski lifts and next door to the little Sherpa supermarket, one of the ski hire shops and one of the restaurants. The other shops and restaurants are not much further away either, say 50 metres! It's a small, friendly resort - not for anyone who wants to go to noisy discos, clubs, etc...
£250 booking deposit to secure the rental week. In the unlikely event that the booking is cancelled, we will retain the full deposit unless we can re-book in which case we will return the full deposit minus any small, additional costs we incur. The balance is payable approximately 6 weeks before the holiday, plus an additional damages deposit of £150. Again, the balance is non-refundable unless the apartment is re-booked.
Normal changeover is Saturday midday. But, we are flexible and where possible recommend Sunday for cheaper flights & to avoid the rush at airports, on the roads & arriving at the resort. We can also offer long weekends and mid week starts as available.
Notes on prices:
Prices are for the properties per week in UK pounds. For guests without a UK bank account, payment can be made by international bank transfer, with all bank costs paid by the guests. Booking Deposit: £250. An additional damages deposit of £150, taken when the balance is paid, is returned by cheque or online bank transfer after the keys have been returned and the apartment left clean, tidy and in good condition. Again, bank fees for return by international bank transfer are payable by guests.
We have stayed in this apartment 3 times, and hope to return next year. It is a large and airy apartment, with a small but adequate kitchen.
It is ideally situated for ski in ski out. There is a convenience store, ski hire shop, and restaurant, on the ground floor of the same building.
Good for families, not so much for lively après ski. Very efficient arrival and departure with friendly owners.
