Hotel Rumaykiyya Apartment, 404, Pradollano, Granada, Spain - Chairlift and Pistes Outside the Door

For those who like the best of both worlds coated in a touch of luxury! 2 bedroom duplex apartment sleeping a maximum of 6. Situated on the top floors of a five star hotel, in a quiet area of the resort but right beside the pistes and chairlifts. A large comfortable open plan living/dining area. A hatch from the separate kitchen area serves the dining area. The kitchenette was originally designed to supplement meals taken in the hotel although the present owner has incorporated a micro wave oven and small hob as an independent option. Opposite the kitchen the downstairs cloakroom incorporates a shower to help with the rush hour queue! Upstairs there are two double bedrooms both with twin beds plus a further separate shower/bathroom with full bath, bidet, basin and WC.

About the Owner

My name is Ness I have lived in Spain since 1970 raising two sons in Menorca where we lived for 15 years. My last husband was an Olympic skier back in the '60s so our winters were spent in the mountains. At first in the Pyrenees and since 1996 (when Sierra Nevada hosted the World Championships) in Sierra Nevada. Unfortunately he died in 2006 and since then I spend less time on the ski slopes preferring life on the farm in warmer climes on the southern slopes of the Sierra in a beautiful region known as the Alpujarra. So when I or the family are not using the place I am able to share our lovely duplex with others on a holiday rental basis. I also spend time in my pretty little place down on the coast with wonderful sea views & ideal for that quiet beach holiday with a very Spanish flavour.

My husband who sadly died in 2006 was an Olympic Skier and skied for Spain in two Olympics in Grenoble and Sant Moritz back in the '60's! His life was devoted to the mountains. I still live in Sierra Nevada but on the warmer southern slopes though I still love to ski when I can!

Sierra Nevada is one of the few ski resorts where you can ski in the morning and lunch on the beach! The Costa Tropical awaits just half an hour from Granada.


The airport of Malaga is about an 1.30 hours drive from the ski area in Sierra Nevada. Getting up the mountain by public transport is complicated. Car hire is recommended although taxi is another option.


The fabulous city of Granada and the famous Alhambra Palace are only 30 minutes down the mountain. You are advised to prebook tickets to the Alhambra to avoid disappointment. The city offers a very cosmopolitan atmosphere with great shopping in the Moorish quarter. Flamenco and 'doing the tapateo' are popular with both locals and visitors. The tapa (titbit) is still served free with every alcoholic drink in this city!

Booking Notes:
To confirm a booking requires 25% deposit which can be paid in sterling in UK. The balance + £150 Safety Deposit are paid 6 weeks prior to arrival in Sierra Nevada. The safety deposit is refunded once the agency confirms the safe return of the key and the property.
Please note that there is an extra charge of £120 above the rental per night for stays of less than a week.

Changeover Day:
The changeover day is usually Monday. On arrival the property will be available from 5.30pm and on departure must be vacated by 10.00am.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds & can be paid in UK or Spain.
There will be a £150 Safety Deposit which will be refunded to your account when the agency confirm the safe return of the property and the key. Please note that there is an extra charge for cleaning of £120 for rentals of less than 7 nights.
In case of cancellation the deposit is NON RETURNABLE and the balance is only returned if notification is received in writing NO LESS than 28 days prior to the date reserved.

Although this property is privately owned, guests are welcome to use the hotel facilities on a pay as you go basis these include two bars and a first class restaurant and breakfast cafeteria as well as a health spa offering beauty treatments a sauna and jacuzzi. Further information and tariffs are available from the hotel reception where Internet access cards can also be purchased. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property will be cleaned and prepared ahead of your arrival. Towels and linen are provided. There is no maid service.
