I absolutely adore this area and with every visit I feel a great sense of peace and tranquility from the location. It's great being able to go for long morning walks with beautiful scenery and to just wake up to the sound of the sea.

There is something new to enjoy every time we go, with a huge choice of restaurants in the square at Rio Nalon where you can enjoy everything from fine dining through to burgers, pizzas, steaks, Asian or Mexican cuisine.

What makes this apartment unique

It's fabulous being right on the sea front - it's so tranquil as it's a beautiful lagoon. But equally if you walk along the promenade you can reward yourselves with ice cool beer at the array of beach bars that line the route! There is no shortage of restaurants to tempt you either.

If it's Golf you are looking for there are 7 exceptional quality golf courses all within easy reach of the apartment.

And shopping is just a 10 min walk away.

I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Debra's apartment in Nueva Ribera Beach. This is our third trip there and each time it just gets better. Debra has extended her terraces meaning we could sunbathe privately at this time of year in a virtual sun trap. The Mar Menor has an international sailing school and there is kite sailing on the lagoon directly in in front of the apartment.

Coast/Beach:

Imagine, just a short walk from your apartment to a sandy beach with calm bathing, restaurants and bars. There are over a hundred beaches along the Costa Calida ranging from tiny deserted coves which are only accessible by boat, to vast stretches of sand with every facility imaginable.

Travel:

Approx 2.5 hours from the UK and 5 minutes drive from San Javier airport. Well served by a comprehensive range of low-cost airlines. Alicante airport, 45 mins away is an alternative. All the major hire car companies are located within the airport terminal. It is advisable if hiring a car to book your vehicle in advance. Although many amenities can be reached within 10-15 minutes. Car hire is recommended as there are numerous local areas of interest.

Distances:

Short stroll to a superb selection of restaurants offering international cuisine. Local amenities include street markets, a fully equipped gym and Spa, numerous golf courses, Windsurfing, water sports, pedaloes and boat trips on the beachfront. Karting, horse riding and bowling within easy reach. The historic province of Murcia is 50km, The naval port of Cartagena 20km Aqua Park 25km.

Further Details:

A popular tourist destination for sun lovers, enjoying approx 325 sunny days each year. The world health organisation states that the weather in Murcia offers one of the healthiest climates and one of the best places to live. The monthly average temperatures during June, July, August and September surpass 21ºC. Temperatures do not go below 10ºC in the mild winter. La Mar de Músicas is becoming well-known as one of the best music Festivals in the world. The Festival takes place during July and its main stage is the Parque Torres Auditorium, which is on a hill where you can see the port, the amazing archaeological remains of the Roman Theatre and the city. San Javier International Jazz Festival is held in the ‘Parque Almansa’ Auditorium during July it has become one of the most important jazz Festivals in the country. All-time stars such as Chick Corea, B.B. King, The Blues Brothers, Herbie Hancok, George Benson have performed here. The pedestrianised town centre provides a good mixture of shopping and eating opportunities; There are also a number of supermarkets, banks and a chemist within easy reach, catering for your everyday needs.

Much talk has been circulating the internet with rumors about the up and coming major theme park that is going to be built in Spain. There are actually hearsays about which major company will set up base in Spain. Disney is one of the names that is mentioned about this issue. Just to clear things up, Disney is not setting up a new franchise in Spain, but Paramount Pictures is. The Paramount Theme Park will be built on a lot measuring around 1.59 million square meters, located close to Alhama de Murcia at the intersection of RM2 and RM23. In relation to specific details about the Paramount Theme Park, plans are yet to be announced in the next few months, but one thing is for sure, it will certainly be something that will give visitors a good reason to come and visit Murcia, and boost its tourism industry.

Wonderful visit

I have been here for just 4 days and I felt to write a review to say how pleasant our stay is so far. Debra has been tremendously helpful thus far and couldn't ask for a better host. The weather is around 24 degrees and we cannot believe it is October. Food in the area is wonderful, and you can dine out affordably without worrying to break the bank. Beach is lovely and the bar / restaurant on the front of the apartment is beautiful. Definitely booking to come back again same time next year

Fab holiday in great apartment. A*****

We were so pleased with the lovely apartment. It was super clean and there was plenty of space for everyone and having 2 bathrooms (always piping hot water) was a huge benefit. All furnishings, linen, crockery etc were of a high quality. We all slept well in the comfy beds. We ate out most of the time (fabulous array of restaurants close by) but when we did cook and use the kitchen, it was well equipped with everything we could have needed. The complex has its own pool but it's literally a few steps and you're dipping your toes or having a swim in the ocean.

The location is amazing - we enjoyed walking to the town centre of Los Alcazares along the prom (bars along the way overlooking the sea if you need refreshments!). We also hired bikes (great little cycle hire shop in the town, very reasonable and a charming owner) to take full advantage of the prom that stretches for miles in both directions.

With lots to do in the area (we also hired a car to explore further afield), it was perfect for us. Highly recommended and we would be back in a heartbeat to sit on the balcony overlooking the sea. Fabulous.

Brilliant place to spend a relaxing holiday

Upon arrival, we were delighted with the accommodation, all the mod cons you could wish for.

The rooms were laid out well, and we could tell that a lot of thought was given to the tiniest details.

There are two main balconys, one off the lounge and one off the main bedroom which is upstairs. I found out from our neighbour that these balconys had recently been extended to allow for even more outside space.

Looking at those that haven't been extended, we were pleased that we booked this one. WOW, what a difference.

The apartment is about 1 minute from the beach, and just outside the complex is a great beach bar serving the best mojito's we've ever had and a nice selection of food also.

The main square in the town of Los Alcazares is about 30 mins walk, but as its all very flat, we found this great as it helps to walk off the evening meals. Also, for those still thirsty, there are loads of beach bars on the way....

Within the complex is a communal pool, not the biggest we've seen, but plenty big enough for a dip to cool off in the sweltering heat.

We did get a taxi a couple of times, and the security man sorted this out, and it was less then 10 euros, so we thought that was not too bad.

Overall, I would say this apartment and the local area is a real delight, and we will defiantly be returning for a follow up trip.

Better than expected

Pictures never really do a place justice as I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it looked in person. Had a lovely stay, weather was beautiful, the apartment was immaculately clean and the pools in the complex were ideal.

Debra answered all questions we had before booking and was there if we needed her throughout our stay, which was very comforting and I can only thank her for her efficiency.

I have a thing about beds and how comfy beds are and I found the beds very comfortable to lay in. There is also great balcony space, so perfect for candle lit dinners and meals on an evening. The balcony upstairs is IDEAL for those who love to tan!

There are supermarkets local as well as beach huts with snacks / food and drink. There is also a really cool bar by the apartment and we spent a lot of nights there making full use of the very reasonably priced beverages. There is full kitchen supplies in this apartment which is good as I've been to others lacking, so we were able to get food in and cook a few of the nights.

The apartment is situated in a lovely area with lots going on. Food and drink prices are very reasonable with three course meals and drinks costing around €35 in some places. There is also a market that runs on a Friday with fresh fruit, veg and supplies as well as clothes, nik naks and other bits. We stumbled across this on our walk but it is around a 5 minute walk from the apartment when you leave it and turn right.

Bikes are also provided and we took advantage of them!!!

Definitely good for couples / families, couldn't recommend it enough.

Clean affordable lovely

Does what it says on the tin. Very clean, easily accessible and nicely decorated. Restaurants close by are divine and we ended up eating out quite a lot. The beach goes on for miles and there is an incredible bar right by the apartment which has a really great atmosphere. Booked to go back next year as myself and the family thoroughly enjoyed it!

Good size 3 bedroom property on the Mar Menor

First time for us staying at Nueva Rivera, 4 adults & 2 children and we had an enjoyable stay. The apartment is only a few minutes walk from the Mar Menor and The Spinosa beach bar and is also very close to the San Javier airport so easy to transfer by taxi of flying from the local airport. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you would require during your stay, WiFi was included and air conditioning was via a card system with credit included in the price which we were able to make last for the ten day stay in July.
