Apartment in Tavira, Algarve, Portugal - Peaceful Location 5 mins drive from Town Centre

This beautiful, modern 2 bedroom apartment is situated 5 minutes from Tavira centre on mato do espirito urbanization. It has 2 bedrooms (1 en-suite). A very large roof terrace with barbeque and sea views. Patio furniture and loungers on both roof terrace and balcony which also has sea views, perfect for breakfast alfresco. Tavira is a beautiful town to stroll around or just sit in one of the many riverside cafe bars and enjoy a meal. There are many beautiful beaches for you to enjoy including Tavira island (Ilha da Tavira) just a short boat ride away which has unspoilt golden sands and a good selection of excellent restaurants. There are numerous golf courses all within a short driving distance. Guests have use of a communal swimming pool with bar and tennis courts.

Another great holiday in Tavira

We stayed here with our 2 teenage children aged 18 and 15. The apartment is large and spacious and perfect for a family of 4. Being on the 3rd floor was a bonus having access to a large roof top terrace and great views from the balcony towards the river and estuary out to the sea. The en-suite bathroom is rather small and may not suit people with a disability as its a squeeze to get into the shower, however the other bathroom is spacious. We also had a small balcony from our bedroom which was lovely to sit out on as it got the early morning sun. The bathroom and kitchen have modern fittings and are well equipped. There is also a large cool box provided which was great to use for picnic lunches on the beach.

Our children liked to go the the communal pool area where they could get free internet access, this was a short 5 minute walk round the corner. The TV does not receive English channels any more, apparently the the main satellite receiver has been moved but you can get Sky News and some CBS channels, not that you will want to stay in much to watch TV!

I would recommend that a car is needed if you like to visit Tavira town centre and the local beaches. Cabanas is the nearest beach by car and great for children. It is a short speed boat crossing across the river and the boat charges are cheap. Another lovely beach is Barril in Santa Luzia. We also went to Seville for the day which took us about 2 hours by car, well worth a visit.

Amazing break away

We have just returned from a glorious week in Tavira.

It was most relaxing and the accommodation was perfect for our family of four. We have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and they thoroughly enjoyed the use of the local swimming pool which is only a short 5 minute walk from the apartment. There is a little cafe at the pool side too and this was great to use for refreshments and a bite of lunch. The fact there was a little play park along side the swimming pools was also great as once our girls had had enough of the pool they could play on the slide and swings. The fact the pool and park are all enclosed was perfect as, with most little people, our girls where completely safe and could not escape!! There are a further two play parks also about a 10 minute walk from the apartment within the complex.

The apartment is VERY well equipped with DVD's, washing machine, dish washer, beach towels and of course the wonderful roof terrace with a BBQ. We enjoyed many evenings as a family firing up the BBQ and then once we put the girls to bed we were able to relax on the roof terrace with a glass of wine...perfect!!

There are several cafes, a mini mart and bakery all within 5-10 minutes walk. There is also a shopping centre about a 20 minute walk which had great facilities, food court and play areas if you needed a break from the sunshine as well as a good large supermarket to stock up.

Tavira is a lovely town and we enjoyed the fact it was not packed with lots of brits. Lovely restaurants and an ice cream parlour that sells ice cream made in Tavira-we spent a lot of time there!

Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing holiday in a lovely location and great apartment made all the better by the helpfulness of the owner who could not do enough for us to make it such a great break away.

Excellent apartment in beautiful location

Spent a fantastic 2 week holiday at this stunning and well equipped apartment. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable -a real home from home. The balcony is perfect for relaxing and dining on (which we did a lot!) and has uninterrupted sea views. For those who like to sunbath the private roof terrace is fantastic! And comes with a built in barbecue which is great for an evening in, with sea views on one side and the mountains on the other it really is a perfect holiday setting. There is very helpful welcome pack with details of the many local bars, restaurants, supermarkets and beaches, all which are a short drive away. The pool area which is just around the corner is brilliant, perfect for adults and children alike - many happy hours were spent splashing in the pool! There is also a pool bar serving drinks and snacks which are very reasonably priced. All in all the apartment met our every need and the local area is stunning, there are many places to visit and our only complaint is that we had to leave! I can highly recommend this apartment and would absolutely go again!

Conditions abracadabrantesques pour avoir les clés : du jamais-vu !!!

Seuls bémols : pas d'Internet , contrairement à ce qui est annoncé et pas de piscine , contrairement à ce qui est annoncé !!

Vraiment dommage ces mensonges !!

Sinon, bel appartement entièrement dedié à des anglais , loués par des anglais pour des anglais !!

Nearest airport is Faro which is a 25 min drive. Hire of a car is recommended.

The nearest town is a 5 minute drive. A 15 minute walk to town. The Spanish border is only a fifteen minute drive away. with some beautiful areas to visit. Seville can reached in around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Further Details:

Nearest supermarket is a 10 minute walk. There are three lovely restaurant within a couple of minutes walk on the urbanization, and also a small local shop selling fresh bread daily. a welcome pack with a few essentials is awaiting you when you arrive at the apartment.
